Looks like JDs is getting the nod over Bartra at RB.
I prefer Bartra there.

What time do Muslims usually start going to the mosque on Raya day?
I go every year but somehow forgets.
The match is at 5 here in Queensland, Aus and it's supposed to end at 7am.
Hopefully praying only starts after that...

8 am but usually the pray start approximately at 8:30 am but i don't know if this applicable to Australia or not.

Thanks but apparently in this part of OZ, they started fasting a day later thus celebrate Eid a day later which
also means that Im fasting a day extra.. sad.gif

Messi and Fab really have a great connection don't they?

I really thought we were gonna lose the match when I saw our line-up.
3 defenders??? 2 of which were midfielders...
Thiago and Keita in midfield who are both not the ones you wanna play to protect the back 4 as they lose the ball more often than Xavi-Iniesta.
What on earth was Pep thinking?

Now I really believe we have time for every player.
You know how nice it was to see Xavi, Villa coming off the bench?
Compare that to the previous seasons when we had Bojan or Jeffren to come on in the match.
It never excited me haha

A sad sad sad day for Cules worldwide especially who are on twitter. Barcastuff is closing doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

For those here who doesn't know who he is, well, he (some speculated it's actually 'they') is the founder of the famous fcbtransfer blog. For me it is still the best Barca blog out there. And although the blog is now dormant, it is still the best source of documented stories during treble season.

Yesterday I checked out his twitter as usual, only to find out he has already cut off his news feed, only to mention countdown to matches. Why all good things have to end? cry.gif  cry.gif

sad sad day.
he was the only reliable english source we have.

Shiiiit. Everytime there is a discussion, I'm busy at work or on holiday.

EPL fan boys,
after the "international break", look how easy it was for Man U and Man City to crush their opponents. And SAF as just complaining that too many of his stars need to play for their respective countries.

COmpare those results and matches to Madrid's and Barca's.
They both had trouble in the so called "inferior and less competitive league". Barca actually drew and Madrid had a lot of trouble but in the end won their match.

its funny when barca and madrid trash other team = La Liga is shit

didnt the same thing happen in other league as well?  laugh.gif

exactly and when the manchester teams crush other teams, it's swept under the carpet.

and por que por que???

ANd this is what the Special One had to say after the match;
Mourinho: "I congratulate Levante. They know how to provocate, simulate, and even waste time. They're ready!
My players are not suited to the dirty side of football, to the provocation, to the simulation."

He seriously has some issues.

The fans at the stadium made one banner;
We're ugly, poor and not very good.
Hilarious!!

i read about you guys bashing EPL and confusion about 6-horse race

since i'm too lazy to quote anyone,so here goes

yes EPL is six horse race, but not all gunning for the trophies

the three teams(United,City,Chelsea) are going for the title

the other three teams(Arsenal,Spurs,Liverpool) is going for the 4th spot in UCL.they do have outside chances to win the premiership though.since Aston Villa is doing fine under Mcleish so throw them into the fray as well
*
you are right.
but last season it was a two horse race in the epl.

I just saw the league table on espn star.
both manchester teams had a goal difference of 12 while the 3rd team only had 2 biggrin.gif

indeed the formation works this tym compared to when we were against valencia, however i notice this tym alves was more in the defense rather then goin up lyk he always did, gues that is why this tym it works and the opponent dont simply attack our left flank easily lyk wat happened during valencia match.
*
Alves was kept on a leash by Pep hehe.

I seriously don't give a damn about the pinchichi/top scorer award.
At the end of the day, it's the team title that is more important.
Messi thanked his team mates again last night.
The kid is so humble unlike the "rich, good looking and good" player.
How many penalties did he get and score this season already?
And how about last year?

Nice, big home win.
Well, when Zlatan with us, we always cross at the right side because Zlatan good with header and he's taller.
And Villa pretty good in finishing.
*
Are you assuming that he is a good header because he is taller?
How many times has he scored with his head?
I think messi scored more with his head.
Zlatan is pretty scared to head the ball.
Even if he has a free header, he would try out some ninja kick.
It got to a point where Pep got mad during a match.
I followed him since his Ajax days since I'm an Ajax fan too.

Pique was really eager to get up front last night smile.gif

Well he didn't suggest we were successful with our supposedly "plan B" aka the crossing game. In truth during that season it was proved that we have no decent crosser and, yes as you pointed out, Ibra was not a good header.

But Cuenca has been a revelation so far. He helped the team a lot with his crosses. Perhaps we will see more goals like the one Cesc scores. Now its time for our midget players to learn how to time their late runs into the box to attack the ball. I think Cesc and Thiago are the best ones at doing this among current players.

Added on November 3, 2011, 3:05 pmOh and apparently Cuenca is a freestyler too laugh.gif

*
I also didn't talk about us being successful.
I'm jsut talking about Zlatan and people's perception that he is good with headers because he is tall.
It's like saying, Messi is weak because he is small.

Oh well, Pep for all his accomplishment, is still a rookie. Much things to learn I suppose in terms of relationship with his players. Or maybe in choosing which player to buy.
*
I'm a bit ol fashion guy and only got internet at home in July 2009.
One of the first things I did was to bombard the Barcelona email with emails why they shouldn't sign Ibra and instead go for Villa.
It was at the time when Laporta was reported to be in Milan or Moratti in Barcelona, one of those 2.
I just dislike Ibra for his inability to perform in big matches, his horrible attitude and his PIZZA maker turned agent.
Since I am an Ajax fan I knew his problems.

But for him to pick up a fight with Pep in the dressing room is really disrespectful, the worst act so far.
It actually made me sad for a couple of hours thinking about Pep.

And yesterday another news came out that Ibra boasted how he would beat Pep up in public and his agent said Ibra would keep his word.

Anyways, we have the last laugh.
He can keep his Ferrari while we are collecting trophies.

On an unrelated topic,
the Barca youth team in the Baby Champions League beat Man City 4-1.
Imagine if that squad included G. Deulefeu, S. Gomez, Espinosa who are all in Barca B now.

Yeah I guess you are right there. Seriously it was one hell of an energetic display though.

Btw, anyone know why Villa didn't start? I didn't know any fitness problems about him. hmm.gif
*
Villa had a row with messi remember?

Hehe no just kidding.
He had a slight discomfort since last week.
He looked good though when he came on, jsut need to sort out his shooting skills.

What a tough match. Our team just don't have a good relationship with the nature (volcano, rain). mad.gif

I finally thought that we could win an away game which I think we had a chance cos we didn't play horribly even in those conditions. Imagine if it didn't pour like that.

I don't follow the Barca babies. No time for that. I did download or stream them last year though but no time for that now.
Espinosa, Rafinha and G. Deulofeu are supposed to be the biggest talents. Many said that Rafinha is better than his big brother Thiago, we shall see.
But from what I;ve seen during the pre-season games, only Deulofeu failed to impress me. He looks like a hit or miss guy.
But since then he had a standing ovation at an away match and was even being called up and actually played some minutes so I guess he must be doing things right.

Yeah Ibra acted like a douche. That's pretty obvious. But I think Ibra had a point about the Ferrari Fiat bit. It seemed like Pep didn't have definite plan for him. Like you pointed out, if he had planned to play Messi in the false 9 role, then Villa was the much better choice than Ibra, as Ibra's best role is the false 9 too. And its incredibly surprising considering how serious our efforts were, both monetary and time. I can't fault him if he feels that he had wasted his time at Camp Nou.
At first I thought that you agreed with Ibra driving a Ferrari to the stadium biggrin.gif
But that was really low of Ibra when everyone drove in company car.
It offended both Pep and his team mates.
Imagine you're supposed to wear a school uniform and one kid wears an original Gucci cap, YSL shirt, G. Armani pants and LV shoes to top it off.
How would you feel?
Ibra doesn't get the whole uniformity and equality thing.

And the whole team was losing from that.
Yeah. We lost the CL and when he left we won it back.

Did you guys notice how England scored the goal?
Through a dive from Milner who was then rewarded the FK which was then converted into a goal.
Milner threw himself to the ground.

QUOTE(myhotgary2 @ Nov 24 2011, 06:18 AM)
Puyol has experience playing there, he's played there ever so often and also before he was a permanent CB. But playing him at RB tonight is really weird coz he definitely has no pace for SB anymore (even seedorf outran him in an instance), whereas we would have missed the steel and mind he could have contributed in the centre. Wat happened to Dani and Pique? I think pitting pique against ibra would mean that ibra could no more be such an easy channel for long balls from their defence, as we have seen tonight.

Nevertheless a win to top the group. Can't complain. Maybe resting players after the international break is really important when el classico is around the corner. Two amazing passes from messi to see the 1st and 3rd goal was good enough. Fab and villa was a bit off tho.
*
1) I know right. Puyol should've just played at CB and sMasch at RB, he played there before., can't remember vs. who.
2) Pep saw how LLorente bullied Pique when we played Bilbao and made some adjustments I guess.

I am really not confident that Barca would retain the CL title and the league this season.
They just don't have the ability to pressure so intensively anymore and
they don't retain possession that good anymore.
It's almost December and the team still hasn't reached their peak.

It took me an hour to fall asleep again after the match.

sitting 6 points behind them will mean that mourinho can play for a draw and play ultra defensive when we play them at the bernabeu.

they don't need to win, a draw is good enough.
hopefully we will enter clasico with a 3 point difference only.
that will be a big factor.

3 points = madrid needs to win
6 points = madrid can play safe

So so so proud.....

Before the match I wanted Thiago & Dos Santos in midfield because they are best friends and they use to run the midfield in the youth teams.

And Rafinha to play false 9.

Haven't watched the match yet, its on Astro PVR.
