2. Barcelona Record Goalscorer in UEFA Champions League: 51 goals
3. Barcelona Record Goalscorer in European Competitions: 52 goals
4. Barcelona Record Goalscorer in international Competitions: 56 goals
5. One of five players to have won the Champions League three times (although he did not take the field in the 2006 final).
6. Club record of scoring five goals in a Champions League game.

Records he can still break:

1. Cesar Rodriguez's Barcelona's record of 192 goals in La Liga (league football). (Messi is on 158)
2. Josep Samitier's Copa del Rey record of 65 goals. (Messi is on 19)
3. Laszlo Kubala (Barcelona) scored seven in a La Liga match against Sporting Gijon in 1951/1952. (Messi's five is his best)
4. Paulino Alcantara did score 369 goals for Barcelona in all games including friendlies.
5. Gerd Muller's 67 goals for Bayern Munich in 1972-73. (Messi is on 61 at the moment)
6. All time appearances (622 games in all competitions, 409 in La Liga, 138 in Europe currently held by Xavi Hernandez and is on going)
7. Most La Liga titles by a Barcelona player Xavi and Pep Guardiola have six with Xavi able to increase that amount (Messi is on five)
8. Could set a new record for most Champions League titles by a Barcelona player if he wins one more.
9. Francisco Gento won the European Cup six times between 1956 and 1966 for Real Madrid.
10. Should Barcelona remain at their current level both that, and the record of eight final appearances that Gento shares with Paolo Maldini.
11. Gento's total of 12 Spanish titles. (Messi has five)
12. Raul's total of 71 represents the highest in European Cup/Champions League history - Messi is on 51 - and his 76 is the record in all European competitions, with Messi on 52.
13. Jose Altafini and Ruud van Nistelrooy of scoring 14 goals in a European Cup or Champions League season. (Messi has 14 as well but needs one to beat that.)
14. Athletic Bilbao forward Telmo Zarra's total of 251 career goals is the all-time highest in La Liga.
15. Gabriel Batistuta's record goalscorer for Argentina with 56 goals. (Messi is on 22 )
16. Javier Zanetti's record appearances for Argentina with 145 games. (Messi is on 68)

Hi everybody,
I’m Hayet Abidal, Eric’s wife.
I’m writing you, today, on his Facebook page, on his request.
Eric and his cousin Gérard have indeed been operated yesterday in Barcelona and for the moment, everything is OK!
He really wants to thank you all for your messages, your support and all the strength you give him.
Thanks a lot!

The Club has decided that the next pre-season will be based locally, with four or five friendly games to be held in Europe

The aim is to counterbalance the accumulation of games over the last few season and take into account the extra effort needed for the European Championships and Olympic games

FC Barcelona will hold their 2012-13 pre-season in Europe, with four or five friendly games which still have to be finalised.

I'm not a barca fan. But why the heck pele rates neymar better than messi? Very stupid of him....Messi has won everything at club level and even won the ballon D'Or 3 times. Neymar may be one of the most talented football player of earth, but oh well he's not even proven himself yet. Not even in a top europe club yet nor will titles yet.

Neymar > Messi? LoL..joke of the year.

hahaha...pele is a joke..obviously Pele is jealous of Messi's popularity =) WTH neymar better than messi? pele are u kidding me? Joke Of the Year 2012 smile.gif

i wonder when will Pele realized that he could have never achieved what he did, if he were playing in Europe..? Seems like he hates the fact that Lionel Messi is conquering Europe, while he was playing in a league way less competitive than the Europeans league...!

Pele should plays down the claims saying he is the king and best player to ever play the game knowing he DID NOT even play in Europe.. 1000 goals record is a joke knowing about over 80 percent of them were from a rubbish league... lol All Pele ever achieved were from a non-competitive league... smile.gif

It's because Pele is Brazillian and he'll probably back Neymar, the same Diego Maradona will back Lionel Messi.

But I agree, I think it was just stupid to say 'Messi must be better than Neymar first'. Come on, Pele, Messi scored a hat trick against Real Madrid when he was 19.

He has achieved so much in his 7-8 year career than most players will all their live.

Both penalties were harsh but nothing can be done about it, it's a penalty indeed. Nevertheless, you guys looked a bit blunt up front but Cuenca is getting sharper. Can't say the same for Thiago though. The 'end of the season' pressure is taking its toll on him I guess. 41 goals for Messi. The league and the pichichi title are on fire! Probably will go down as one of the best duel in the world of football.

Levante was very slow but props to Kone for being one of the most confident and technically gifted player for them. He's probably one of the rare forwards that can still hold the ball up front and set his teammate up. Something like Llorente. Kinda funny thinking that Sevilla loan/sell him because they have Negredo and Kanoute. Sigh~

All in all, it's a great win for you guys. Looking forward to beat Barca in El Clasico tongue.gif

I'd say injuries have disrupted our cohesion in attacking a bit this season. Its still a fact that the likes of Cuenca and Tello are a bit of a unplanned moves by Pep after all our injury problems.

Having said that, we are still doing good goal scoring wise because of, well, you know who la thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

To be fair to Sevilla Kone was absolutely horrible during his 4 years with em. And yeah he has regained his confidence with Levante. Should go back to Sevilla next season since Kanoute is leaving. Levante is gonna get raped in Europe if Kone does leave though.

Oh, and Sporting also gave you guys a tough game until the sending off eh? Similar night we both had nod.gif

True that, Kone was despicable at times. He always looked tired and God he's lazy! hahaha. Maybe in Levante he got more playing time which had polished him to become what he is today.

But, since you brought it up, Sevilla was getting bad every year. They were not that bad in the last 4 years. Before Barca hired Pep and Madrid bought Cristiano, Sevilla was one tough dog. They were close to winning the Liga title once and they were even doing well in Europe. They won twice the UEFA Cup if I'm not mistaken. Seriously, when I see a team like Atletico Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia and Sevilla, I really think it's hard how they can't do any better in La Liga. There are probably many logical and technical reasons to why they flunk badly in Liga but if one ever see the line up in each team I mentioned, rationally they were not suppose to be that bad. unsure.gif

Oh no you're not. You're not taking this away from us. laugh.gif
Madrid already made the remontada before the ref sent off their captain (which in my opinion should've been off much more earlier). We were up 2-1 and only scored once after the red card. tongue.gif

Can't say it's similar. If we minus both penalties in your game (since I said both of it were harsh), you guys probably won by that single goal scored by Zeus.

Don't get it wrong. I'm not gonna blame any team because of the referees stupid mistakes. They are suppose to be the one that responsible for all the ridiculous calls they made especially in this season.
