I actually prefer Kelly over Johnson. Whilst Johnson is arguably better going forward, I think Kelly is a better defender and at 6'3", he's better at cutting out crosses to our far post. It says something that Johnson was played on the left last season to accommodate Martin Kelly whom I rate really highly. I think he's been really consistent since breaking into the first team, offensively and defensively. Johnson is a little more erratic and prone to the odd mistake.
Couldn't have said it better. I've always thought Johnson was lacking when he played as a regular inside the team. I was skeptical when Liverpool first introduced Kelly but after the first game I fell in love. I can't see the current Liverpool lineup without Kelly anymore.
Yeap, I too rate kelly very very very highly since his first debut start. My school liverpool fan buddies agree with this too. He has pace, body build up and good defensive as well as offensive capabilities.
striker needs goal and thats why we have to play carroll!!!
how about this formation?
--------reina
kelly carra enrique
----spearing lucas
kuyt downing
--------suarez ----carroll bellamy
this formation is abit fantasy la.so dun flame me.LOL
but at least when the fullbacks push forward we have spearing and lucas covering.
when wolves attack spearing lucas and carra can play a 3 man defensive line.then kuyt and downing acts more like a midfielder right and left instead of attacking winger.considering their tendency to track back as well.then with suarez finishing rather poor we have carroll and bellamy for the finish and bellamy and suarez could team up for the one two also.
to be frank this season how many chance we have seen carroll shooting with his feet?so as long as he's given once or twice with the ball in his feet in a decent goal scoring position he would still bang them in.sounds easy??dun flame me lah.....haha
In many aspects, I agree... Hendo is just like "Lucas 2 years ago". young, promising and the boss's favourite... he need more time @ melwood before being a liverpool first 11. The way I see it, he's not a "natural" wide player even though he's been playing in that position, hopefully he can gain as much as possible from Stevie and Kenny.
He convincingly cleared a corner to Bellamy who was waiting halfway and have Maxi n Kuyt run up...Bellamy then pass it over to Maxi n Maxi to Kuyt......perfect counter strike.
All started from Gerrard We need a leader up front so Carra can worry less abt them.
Carroll can just tag along beside Bellamy/Maxi/Kuyt. Carroll have a striking long shot if he gets one. But now we know Gerrard n Bellamy can do that too.
How much would u value Andy "Carthorse" Carroll? When a rich billionaire give u 50M for ur used car and u spent 35M on a Pogo stick. Make no logic @ all.
In King Kenny we trust.
and guess where we got the $50 million quid from? thanks for buying a lemon, moron.
If Johnson is back, lets have Kelly playing at CB please. Say what you want, is about time we start planning for a team post Starting 11 Carra. Have Kelly alongside Carra now would be amazing. Kelly would get to pick up some on field leadership from Carra and the whole thing has a very feel good passing the baton feel to it. Older wiser local lad grooming his local successor.

don't think it's a Chelseafan.. if they didn't know where our 50 mil came from. probably a manc in blue skin too cowardly to post on his main.
and yeah, don't feed the troll in any case.
Added on September 23, 2011, 10:06 amon another note, we will be hosting Wolves on Saturday. Don't really see any problems getting the points if we are to play the way we played against Bolton. Kuyt and Suarez to start and we'll be dancing with wolves instead

carroll is 22..he got time to develop his play...torres is what, 27???..time certainly not on his side
Bah.... I hope all of us will be patient with Carroll for this season. On Torres, I still keep up with his games and I hope he will come good too. Let bygones be bygones.

'The commission with the club is whatever you can negotiate. When I took Lucas Neill to West Ham instead of Liverpool I earned £900,000 and they put the player on £72,000 a week.
'He was going to Liverpool but West Ham wouldn't take no for an answer. It was incredible. At the time I thought it was just business - I had bills to pay, office, telephone, travel - but when I look back on it now I'm embarrassed.'
I've been backing Carroll since the start but even I'd have to admit that he's looked nothing like the player I saw in Newcastle. Could be his price tag, or it could be he's still suffering from a hangover after celebrating a big money move but he's been looking sluggish. For a big bloke, he's been shoved off the ball too often for my liking. Maybe a run in the ressies will do him some good.
