Seriouslylah...how many clearance and tackles carragher made in the match??defenders cant stop a striker when they are really on their top of the game.and that was how walters managed to get in front of carra.if coates was in that position and same thing happened u all gonna smash him and says he will be a failure?same things could be say for our captain if he comes bac and have a bad game....

stop asking for carra to be replaced now please...look at his passion even when he was forced to leave the field...who's thr as a leader when our captain is not around???

Yup henderson will need to be on the bench and play in the league and fa cup to fInd his touches... Caroll needs some diet and reduce his weight first . We played nice attacking football but i am expecting more shots outside the penalty box... KD need to train the team to have a shot outside the penalty box every 10minutes

I really don't understand why KD didn't sub in Caroll earlier. Kuyt obviously didn't and can't do anything at all against Stoke's strong and tall defenders. All the attempts of goals came from the wings. Were they expecting Kuyt and Suarez to head them in? And Carra.... Adam looked tired. You can really see. No spirit at all. I don't f***ing get why he did some of the passing he did.
Henderson HAS got to improve on his finishing. It was 1 vs 1 with the keeper and he decided to go for the middle... Really got to improve the midfield play as well. All I saw was pass forward the middle, pass back then pass to the wings. I don't see how we are gonna go against Man Utd and Man City at this point. KD has to do something!

Precisely, you don't just throw all your new signings in just because you've read rave reviews about them. Coates has no experience playing in the Premiership and he has probably never heard of Peter Crouch who he would have marked had he started in place of Carra. Always helps to have your defenders learn about the players they have to mark first. Do they have a tendency to go right or left? Do they like to blast it or place it? etc.

I think adam also not performing tonight. His passes keep on missed

i can understand the frustation with Henderson....but i think realistically, Man U and Man City is just too far ahead of us...
our realistic aspiration this season is the chance is to catch Arsenal, Chelsea (with their new manager but even then, i think he's doing okay) and spurs....and get CL place...Based on what i've been seeing for past few weeks, its do-able..

But we need a more potent goal grabbing striker...

Carragher could've easily gone down for a free kick after he was shoved by Walters. Instead, he chose to get back on his feet and obviously he had to grab on someone to do so. It was very unfortunate for Carragher in that occasion.

henderson doesn't strike centre.he scuffed his shot.(possibly bcoz of the 'long grass' tactics?)

btw.Meireles assisted chelsea's sturridge goal with a beautiful through ball...

Like you I am disappointed but I doubt we'd have fared any better had Carroll started. I actually don't think we got it wrong playing Suarez and Kuyt from the start. Stoke effectively played with 4 centrebacks and against lumbering defenders, you want nippy players who are a little more mobile. We did play high balls but it wasn't for Kuyt or Suarez to attack. I believe the intention was to play the ball over and behind the back four for Kuyt and Suarez to chase down. It's just that when the back four sits deep, there is very little space between them and the keeper. The reason I believe people see this as a failed tactic is simply because we didn't convert our chances. Had we done so, no one would be complaining. It isn't easy playing against a team that plays so deep because space is at a premium.

All in all, I actually think we played a decent game of football.

We need someone who can cope with Suarez type of play. KD should've spent more money on good strikers. I'm gonna say it. Henderson and Bellamy are wasted money. He could've got himself a good striker to support Suarez. And Caroll definitely got to lose some weight man. He couldn't run at all...

that's a strange one...not long ago, we were worried he'll be out after that injury...
and now he played a full game for our rivals!

but he wanted to leave...so all the best to him...

if coates on form vs carra off form,i think KK will have no doubt to throw coates into the game in the near future..but to replace carra in THIS game coz carra make mistake,is not a good man management..hopefully coates will replace carra slowly..i expect he'll play in CC vs exeter in mid week to get use to english futbol

Adam's short passes are not up to par today as mentioned by the commentary...its ok though, we did everything right today.

Henderson is guilty, but remember he is no striker or a natural goal scorer. He wouldn't think of lobbing the keeper...but if Bellamy/Maxi was there instead, they probably would have score the second time with the ball...but oh well, we were pretty unlucky looking at the shots on target and possesion.

We didn't play bad today, it's just that Stoke's defence was superb as their players throw all their bodies behind the ball today. Skrtel could have won a penalty if he pushed the ball instead of taking a shot too. And luck wasn't with us today. :/

I thinkCarroll will benefit if he spends more time watching how Drogba plays....as much as i hate that brute....that's one striker who is both strong and yet deadly...

And to add to the disappointment, Chelsea, Ars and Manc got full points tonight. I expect Man Utd to do the same

I do think Henderson has not justified his price tag yet but it's just 4 games into the season and it's too soon to label anyone a flop. Bellamy was a free signing so we didn't spend money. What did he do wrong anyway? He was stuck out on the wing.

have to admit carra lost us this game. hope kenny can bench him like he did to carroll.
