bro, u dont need to connect that molex on the mobo lar...
that's originally to provide more power to the gcs if u do cf..
but the thing is, ip-35e only has 1 pcie 16x slot...
guess those abit engineers just recycle the ip35pro pcb but too lazy to remove the molex... sweat.gif
btw, bro, why don u use the cable holder like i did?? smile.gif

A little update here, single card now without watercooling. Specs is as on siggy.

yes yes im aware the vizo exhaust is ugly sweat.gif
gonna switch it to another panaflo later... a lil lazy now lol. And not, the cpu fan aint a screamer, using a fan controller, it produce CFM more than any normal 2.5cm fan @ silent noise level.
the white ccfl on top was originally too bright. Wrapped it with some masking tape, now it produce a very dim subtle yellowish light, just enough to raise curiosity on the hardwares but not to highlight them. A little idea after being bored highlighting hardwares with UV.

Some helpfull part which can be done is highlighted below to guide other forumer on cable management.

user posted image

1. CPU/Chipset/Back/top/ fan cables are routed through the back of the top fan.
2. Ram cooler tags along with 24pin connector.
3. 3 sata cables are combined to 1 header, ugly colourfull sata cables are sleeved to get matching black.
4. Front IO (on/off/reset/HDDLED/PWRLED) is sleeved and heatshrinked into 1 single header.

Thanks bro, but i do believe that we are all still learning, ideas will never stop coming and due to dissatisfaction, comes the motive to do better. Im still unsatisfied actually, i believe there is much i can do but dont have to available time. Nevertheless, CM690 is officially my best bang of the bux for casing below RM300. Heck... its better than many other RM400+ cases as well.

Thanks bro.

on another sidenote, i hate the the black cable clamps that comes with the case, instead of tidying it, i find it rather annoying, Try avoid using it and pretend that those stuff does not exist, you will be amazed by how well you can manage your cables on that casing.

thx bro, i was thinking to get the whole rig "thermalright-ed", but there wasnt a need. The team Xtreem stock coolers are rather solid as well, and im not voltage freak so its overkill. As for the GFX, i was thinking to install the HR-03GT too and i even have 2 in hand sweat.gif then again... there wasn't a need to do so, i always prefer a cooler that pushes heat OUTSIDE the case rather than releasing it inside, besides, the stock 8800GTS 512 cooler is quite effective, i never touch 60c with 60% fan speed.

till the end of the day, only 2 chips are thermalright-ed laugh.gif hsf and nb.

After viewing this topic n going through various wonderful jobs done by fellow si-fus here... hands got itchy n this is what i've done. smile.gif
[attachmentid=396530]
- Sprayed internal part to matt black
- Did few extension wire for 6-pin PCI-e , 4-pin ATX, 4-pin molex

[attachmentid=396528]
- Add in 2 layer of PVC wire cover (no space behind motherboard.. therefore have to route the cables beside the motherboard)
- Combine 2 rails of SATA power cable to a single rail

[attachmentid=396529]
- 1st layer of PVC wire cover hides front panel connector, PCI-e power cable, card reader usb cable
- 2nd layer to hide ATX power cable, 4 sata cables

1st timer, any comments are welcomed icon_rolleyes.gif

1st timer going to that extent for cable management?? even i oso been doing cable management for quite awhile oso damn malas wanna do all that...wanna sleeve PSU oso malas laugh.gif

i have to say...the results are impressive thumbup.gif

love the idea of that cable trunking cover thingy... very nicely done dude..

except for the watercooling tubes..kinda spoils the whole neat look by making it look messy again...but cant be helped as its typical of watercooling

Tqtq laugh.gif

Ya, those tubes kinda hard to route as the case is quite small. Installing the radiator inside is not an option. doh.gif

bleh..modular PSUs doesnt necessarily make it easier for cable management unless u have bare minimal hardwares in the case. personally i think modular PSUs are messier with all the cables coming out from all over the place. non-modular all the cables come out from only 1 point of the PSU.

heres an example of modular vs non modular i did on the same case (LL PC-007)

non-modular OP750 (take note the case is loaded with hardware)

modular mushkin 550w PSU (minimal hardware)

modular PSUs doesnt necessarily make good cable management main factors imho are...

1/ the case
2/ the person doing the management
3/ the mobo layout

MOdular PSU make cable management easier or not really depend on the type of case and routing mechanism and spaces to hide cables ...

It's all depend on the case most of time .. modular PSU is good in once case but not the rest lll same goes to standard PSU ... brows.gif

It's all about planning and execution ..
