QUOTE(Doom @ Feb 12 2008, 06:22 PM) MOdular PSU make cable management easier or not really depend on the type of case and routing mechanism and spaces to hide cables ... It's all depend on the case most of time .. modular PSU is good in once case but not the rest lll same goes to standard PSU ... It's all about planning and execution .. r u know where have sell sunbeam lightbus??

to me, modular or non modular, both are almost the same. Just that the thing which i like most about modular is, when u get a new hardware (HDD/Fans/etc), you dont have to disturb your existing cable management, you can just add in another molex and find ways to route(hide) it, as for non-modular, its very likely that you have to re-do everything.
i work in a hardware shop and did cable management on ALOT of many different case and hardwares, its all about how you are able to manage them. SFF case are most challenging, ive once did an Xqbox with 8800ultra plus 2 HDD and 1 DVD writer with an Acbel non-modular PSU. Think its easy? try it =)
Oh, and my latest work is a XQbox 901 with dual loop Watercooling kit(D-tek Fuzion + MCW60, Cooltrek DP1202, nirox P2800 and a swiftech MCRES Micro).
Ive posted the 8800Ultra pic somewhere before, but as for the Watercooled SFF case, ill need to request permission from its owner first before posting.
In case u guys are wondering, yes its that XQBox which is sold by NGBH, and yes i am working with him =)

well... the truth is, you dont see high end hardwares everyday and only 5-10% of the customer knows about high end hardwares and appreciates them. Rest are normal mainstream user. You will face alot of S478 P4 and even socket A users sending their PC for servicing. Its rare to see people who would invest on a PC, furthermore, people who has knowledge on hardwares/computing, will not send their PC for servicing in a hardware shop.
The only reason where such customer exist in my shop is because of the service we provide and also the way our staff serve and also, how i assemble thier rig.

yeah, most of enthusiast much more prefer to servicing their rigs on their own. but even with an ancient rigs, we must provide the best service we can offer. i always helping y friends to do cable management for their rigs (thats the only way i can molest those highend rig though.. ), i'm not an expert, and i'm learning through these experience...

@limhongwoon I've no idea, probably u could ask AoiNatsume since he works for her shop .. @rainingzero you are absolutely correct, they are called enthusiast because they deal with their case each and every time ... only minority customer who are loaded of cash in pocket would pay premium price for both hardware and services ...

Try to tie several cables into one so that it doesn't lying around here and there ... use some wire twist to hold those cable nicely ..

like Doom said, just tie the cable with cable tie, and try to route the cable at one direction. u can start from ur 5.25" bay, then route to ur mobo, u can use some of the fans connector on ur mobo to power up the fans. this way can tidy a bit ur cable...

yes u are right, im using CM Elite 330. it doesnt have a removable tray and neither can the thick wires fit between the mobo and the tray. neither can the cables be hidden behind the mobo tray (not enuff space). thats why i damn headache. no where to hide the cables

I did cable management for one of the forumer before in this case .. It has no place to hide cable, that's why organizing route of cables is the key to manage cable in this case .. Have all cables route nicely and tie together then use the other side of HDD cage to hold those cable as straight possible. This won't give u wifi kind of cable management but at least it's neat .
