- One week after, I had the opportunity to remove the excess foam sticking out of the holes near the exhaust (with rear tyre removed). Mind you, these were not removed by the installer (couldn't access?). I felt it in my hands and there were soft! I could dent it with my fingers easily and the dent stayed there. At that moment I doubted how such foam strength like that could stiffen up the chassis.
No doubt chassis foaming does help stiffen the chassis, but much of it depends on the density (measured in kg/cubic cm or lb/cubic inch). Unfortunately, this product is disappointing in this area.
- The chassis foam used is a product also used in the construction. Any claim of "designed for automotive use" is pure marketing hype.
- They are not fire retardant class B2.
- I think the price is not THAT reasonable. You could obtain the product for self DIY at a fraction of the cost (assuming you're handy).
I remember correctly on that day that you came over, I was going out but manage to met up with you personally, Roger.
I did not have the chance to explain more to you regarding the material and details but from my understanding you gone thru all the boxes and the stuff in my office when i was away. But all the details is outside on the shelf, the sample of harden and sample of overflow (soft).
Try poking at other competitor foam including the so called "original autofoam" and tell me the different. There are few of autofoamed car came to my workshop and showed me the same thing. If you never seen it, please visit them for a poking session at the competitor shop. They are very friendly and details on their marketing.
The foam have many usage, even some use it on their remote control aeroplane to balance the plane and in other application. Its unlimited as its expandable and bond well too.
Please explain what do you mean by its not fire retardant class B2?
Do have any supporting details on it?
Upon google here is what B2 rating is about...
"B2: Specimens are vertically exposed to a flame with the flame touching the surface and edges. After 15 seconds, flame spread is measured against reference marks. The B2 test is passed if no flames reach the reference marks after 20 seconds on none of five samples. Again, any dripping material is noted."
Also please read : "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flammability"
Layman term : B2 rating is similar to wood, hard to catch flame even for 15seconds of burning. If B3 rating, Easily ignited like wool or paper.
So, its definitely B2 rating.
Oh ya about pricing, you kept asking for discount and in the end I gave you a super low price being a gentlemen here, and still you mention its not "THAT" reasonable? Tell that to the competitor that sells for RM980 and RM1,900 for promo price for Estima, bro!
DIY is of coz always cheaper then paying labour for others to do. Try calculating the cost of DIY compare to our price. Please include the time, tools, disposable item like gloves, masking tape ,etc etc. We dont charge you super high price, if you wish to DIY, atleast you let me know earlier.

Thought the foam suppose to be hard and its almost impossible to dent with fingers? Been thinking of doing this lately...
The outer layer foam is slightly softer. If the foam is brittle , then you guys wouldn't feel any different at all. When we inject the foam into the beams, we seal off most of the holes, the foam will expand within half an hour and when it has no other place to expand, it compressed itself in the beam making it hard and rigid. Those leak out from the tape will expand to the MAX and mix with excess air atmosphere and will be very very soft and easily breakable.(like the one at the hole) but can you poke your finger all the way into the foam and touch the other side of the metal part?? Definitely a big NO as its rigid inside. Drop by and i'll show you the sample. Alot of them have view ,touch and understand the foam. Rather then just thinkin and imagine, its best to drive by and get first hand to see it yourself. And then decide to foam or not.

fits all car? bmw also count as sedan car?
BMW depend on model, X6 is not a sedan.
If size look like a sedan, feel like a sedan and sound like a sedan, then its the sedan price.
