lazy ppl like me dont keep them.

lol, i dont think so.. i feed my cherry population every 2 or 3days.
It might be the reason why my adult guppies keep on going MIA.
but constant water parameters, constant food supply will surely enhance breeding speed.

anyone has any type of moss to give away? or sell cheap cheap? damansara area. my tank crashed i kinda gave up edi, but keep looking at those nice planted tanks now gonna start again!

ciohbu: my target very small only. 3feet tank full of cherry then i very happy d. heheheh.
my purpose of having planted aquarium is to reduce stress, so anything that need lots of care (Eg: CRS lol) i sure wont keep it.

study and find out what cause your tank to crush first.

after very little reading and thinking how hard can this be, put soil, stick some plants in and thats it haha. i started off very ambitious, glosso, hc, hairgrass, and started to dream about luscious green carpet and all that then only realize not enough light, need co2, ferts, maintain pH etc. i tried co2 tablet, then upgraded to diy co2 with yeast, worked out ok for a while but its not consistent. as u can expect, after about 2 months come disaster! algae break, planaria, plant started to melt and die so i pack everything up and left it under the bed hahah.

u cant fail if u dont stop trying, so after few months the tank collecting dust im going to try my luck again. same tank and filter. upgraded to around 30w lighting. still diy co2 for now, should be getting a proper co2 tank next month. currently cycling the tank, there is some kind of rotala in it, thats all. plan to add moss and let it settle down. once i get the co2 tank then only add more plants. maybe hairgrass, pearl grass, mini pelia.

how big is your hang on back filter? how many liter per hour?
glosso, hc and hairgrass all needed co2 and high light. 30w maybe enough.
What soil you using? got put 5elements in bottom?

since i re-use the soil, i figure i can just top up new soil on top. is the 5 elements necessary? they're so expensive.

u dun need to buy whole bottle of 5 element... just need few scoop only... under RM30 for 2ft tank if i not wrong .. hahaha

its not a necessary thing but its good to have, so allocate ur budget accordingly lo

the 5 powders are not necessary, but u hv to pay for your patience

since u r on tight budget, y dont u try the low tech first with undemanding plants...
if u want i can donate some plants to bring up ur excitement....

I hv 2 feet marimos tank and also looking for low tech plant. Totally newbie in aqua plant, dunno any names of them. My tank also house some cardinal, danio, oto, cherry, fire and crs. Any suggestion on some more few low light low tech plant to add? I'm using taiyo canister and 2 feet aqua led light...

if i get the 5 elements, how can i add it in since the tank is already running? remove everything?

if u still want to add the powder
add bacter 100, penac w & clear super are enough

take ur aquarium water put in small mineral water bottle
put each powder 1 spoon into the bottle
shake well
before sleep poor the mixture into ur aquarium tank(the water will be like teh tarik)
once u wake up next morning the water will b clear

this practice u can repeat it every 3moths or 6 mths, to keep the benificial bacteria alive in ur tank
