depends on what is the height of soil u wan it be? and what is ur tank size....
for instant, you can use this calculation below; assuming ur tank size is 5 x 2 x 2 = 150cm x 60cm x 60cm
if you want the height of soil ~3inch = 7cm the total volume of soil needed is 150 x 60 x 7 = 63000 = 63L of soil u need 7 pack of 9L soil....
another option is use holland sand....

Dear all, went to an aquarium shop and asked for those aquatic plants (other than moss) tat do not require co2..and the ppl recommend the plant as shown in the pictures below: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « i forgot the name of this plant, but want to clarify with u all, this plant really dun nid co2 system to grow? how bout the lighting requirement? it still in immerse form is either rotala green or bacopa hv to wait it convert then you can confirm

what is the name of this plant? I got a few stems FOC from the pet shop in mid valley 2 months ago, now it bushes in my tank. I have to give it a major hair cut every month. anybody want? come collect at Sg Long. It is so easy to grow, I don't even have any soil in my tank, only some river sand and gravel but they still able to grow crazy. Last time my water sprite also grow too high in my 2ft tank, I forced to throw in away.
