something similar to bio sponge filter with mechanical filter medium but larger with bio ring, driven by air pump
basic type

advance type, spinning fan on top driven by air pump

both can provide some basic filtration, nice for shrimp tank or normal fish tank, but not if u are injecting co2, the air pump will reduce and wasted ur co2 , maybe its good to open it at night IMHO

hehee.. its 30ppm, part per million, not bpm (i guess u referring to bubble per minute?)
QUOTE
Parts per million (ppm) - a way of expressing very dilute concentrations of substances. Just as per cent means out of a hundred, so parts per million or ppm means out of a million. Usually describes the concentration of something in water or soil. One ppm is equivalent to 1 milligram of something per liter of water (mg/l) or 1 milligram of something per kilogram soil (mg/kg).
a co2 indicator will show u where is ur limit
blue is normal without or with little co2 injection, green or little light yellow is what we aim for, above that u might kill ur fish / shrimp

juz done reading. great info n so detailed^^ TQ so much.
but i tink it is hard to find liquizell here. maybe i should make the green water myself n feed to the larvae?
can look for any shrimp larvae food, something like mosura shrimpton
QUOTE
MOSURA SHRIMPTON is a artificial planktonic food suitable shrimps of all stages including shrimp larvae. It composes of high level of micro-encapsulated, spirulina, chlorella and other ingridents. The high stability micro-encapsulated food contains 12 amino acid and high unit of Vitamin C and E. Vitamins C prevent shrimp in shrimps and vitamin E can increase cellular metabolism, thus improve survival rate. Spirulina and chlorella contains high level of protein, minerals, cholorophyll, that promotes increases vatality and promote metabolism. Shrimpton has Unknown Growth Factor on shrimps and shrimplets.
when they bigger a bit, i think can hatch and feed brine shrimp too
Yupe..u can boil them or rendam them in water for a while to soften them..if no it's hard for shrimp to eat
Added on October 6, 2011, 12:38 amU can add ketapang leaf too..to remove yellow color..rendam them a while with water..put the leaf in ur tank and after a while u will see shrimp start to chew on the thin bacteria film develop on leaf surface

Possible to keep only 1, but its gonna be real lonely plus also hope you don't mind looking high low for the fella! He tends to hide a lot if lonely. Like mine - I haven't seen the fella since I released into the tank
i got 2... but found that they are more active at night
ADA will leak lots of ammonia and nutrient into water during initial set up
make sure u cycle the tank properly to get rid of ammonia
and also control ur lightning period / put some fast absorbing plants such as moss or rotala to control the nutrient before algae kick in normal plants will need some time to stable down if u just rescape, co2 level should be higher too during 1st or 2nd week
another alternative is dry start method

I found that the Malaysian Trumpet Snail like to eat them. any one have Malaysian Trumpet Snail in your tank? is it good to have that snail?
if their number are under control.. its good to have them
do note that : they are livebearers that do not require two parents. The individual snail carries both male and female organisms, so that it can reproduce by itself, asexually.
few advantage of MTS - eat algae, including hard-to-control hair algae - clean and aerate the substrate, preventing pockets of anaerobic bacterial formation, which can produce deadly Hydrogen Sulfide gas - keeps the substrate loose, but they don’t disturb even delicate plant roots.
@weijie, few forum say they are keeping mts with hairgrass and other carpet plants and everything is ok oo..but they will take out those big snail and left small one lo
Dwarf puffer. i got shrimps inside my tank, do they attack baby shrimps? i saw a lot fish shop selling very tiny puffer, approximate 1cm length. will they harm my shrimp and guppy community?
huhu... if they got enough food.. if no they can be aggresive eh..
I actually went to NA... I was attended by this guy called Sean, but... I think that the price quoted by him to me for a 3Ft tank and cabinet is like... WAY too expensive compare to EastAqua...
Any other place which is more reasonable?
hmmm... i prefer to go at night weekdays or weekend and personally talk to boss - Mr.Yee =)
