Thin leaves because the light is above it?
Rounded and thick leaves need medium intensity light and cold water

Glosso grow well under bright light and co2 supply.

Correct me if I m wrong:)

Hi Weijie,
my tank is 320L, CO2 1bps, temp=27C and ph=6.8
Im using the Depont liquid ferts 5ml every day. i add Seachem Potassium 10ml, Nitrogen 10ml, Phosphorus 10ml weekly.

no water change but i add 10L every day because water drying up by fan.
do u think still not enough fertilization?
*
You are using 4feet tank right?
water dry up 10L per day? blink.gif
1bps seems too low wo.. i am using 4bps for 3feet with inline atomizer. rotala pearl like crazy.
what is your light watt?

of all the substrate out there, which type and brand is the better choices for my upcoming aquarium? kinda confuse with different, amazonia, malaya, africana and size too, powder and medium sizes??
*
ADA amazonia is more suitable for planted tank. color is darker than malaya and africana. and much more nutrient too.
it is recommended by ADA to put normal type as base, then top up with powder type.
if you are on low budget, just get normal type will do smile.gif

light is too low.
i am using 182w for 3feet tank.
ferts is only needed when you already got optimum condition for your plants.
co2, and light is the main ingredient for your plants to grow healthy.
of course, NPK is needed during photosynthesis.

if RM80 this size with the substrate and light is quite worth it, livestock can choose , prepare another 100 for it (plants + fishes). most pet store sells neon tetra from rm1 to rm1.5, cardinal u have to go to some bigger shop to get, i am not familiar with KL, but in cheras i can suggest some place to you.  thumbup.gif
*
i dont think aquarium this small need Rm100 for live stock.
the more live stock you put in, the more frequent water changes is required.
10 cardinal should be optimum d.

I checked a pet shop in Mid Valley (highest floor) and there's one aquarium 30x17x20 including filter and light costing RM88. Brand is Ocean Free. Worth while?

Btw, my first time getting fish so you all think I should get real or fake plants? tongue.gif
*
Only the aquarium and filter can use for plants aquarium, light mostly is not suitable.
You can buy Ocean free aquarium and filter around Rm50 outside.

You post this comment in planted tank forum.
i think you already know what we gonna answer you whistling.gif

hmmm.. i would say PH equally important as GH if u keeping shrimp.. haha tongue.gif bcoz GH is basically measurement of Magnesium (Mg+) and Calcium (Ca+) ions in ur water, which are important for shrimp, snail etc with shell

KH : the term 'hardness' in KH is somewhat confusing because it does not actually measure hardness, but rather the alkalinity (buffering capacity - ability to neutralize acids) of a solution to resist a pH change. The higher the KH, the more stable and resistant your water is to pH swings. A KH of 2-3dKH is generally accepted as the minimum to maintain a stable pH.

PH, KH, GH.. all of them are related to each other  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif its kinda complex to explain everything in real sience.. but u can get the basic idea from chart below

for test kit, dun buy API KH/GH test kit.. not accurate, too bad NA dun hav Sera GH test kit  cry.gif
*
So is there any good test kits that we can use to get accurate KH/GH reading? notworthy.gif
i planning to get some sulawesi soon. so KH/GH is very important.
