QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Mar 2 2012, 08:51 AM) The philips will drain all your $$$ the electricity bill expensive laaa... if this light better buy the LED ones almost same price but wont waste $$$ yeps. MH will definitely burn a big hole in your electrical bill. and it create too much heat. unless your aquarium has chiller or 24/7 air con, i would not recommend to use this light. By the way, changing MH bulb is not cheap either. QUOTE(cute_miao @ Mar 2 2012, 09:19 AM) low light problem? |

Other source is quite expensive so i dont want take from them. Some stuffs like lily pipes and solenoid is very fast moving because i selling very cheap, i always sell out of stock and client chase me geh |

QUOTE(LuQEE @ Mar 6 2012, 09:26 AM) if i were you, i would got for ADA soil Amazonia.. ADA soil was never a bad choice. it can provide nutrient for plants and also helps as ph buffer.comes in 3L and 9L pack.. or you can buy them in various KGs from our sifus here they got the sand(more finer in size) and normal type, but the sand cost abit more than the normal ones.. |

QUOTE(LuQEE @ Mar 6 2012, 11:09 AM) sifu weijie, what kind of gravel you are referring to? those white color stones from LFS?usually, if we dont have lava rocks, can we substitute them with lfs apek's gravel? or they have the same effect when using the lava rocks since the mound will simply collapse overtime? lava rocks are from lava mountains, so they would contain more nutrients to artificial rocks that made by human. if you notice, lava rocks also have a lot of small holes which is suitable for bacteria housing (same effect as bio ring but cheaper version) |

those are artificial stones/sand. has no meaning if you put them into aquarium. better if you just get waterfall sand or use lava rocks.

not really, if you dump ADA soil into the aquarium directly with fishes inside, i dont think they will do well.
i have crushed lava rocks for sale too. |

QUOTE(Pacman88 @ Mar 6 2012, 01:46 PM) Why we want to use lava rock? Mind without lava rock and ADA powersand my glosso can grow very well. I have to trim it almost every 2 weeks. From my experience just use ADA amazonia soil is enough. If got extra money invest into the filter even better choice. If the filtering system is good then very seldom we can see algae grow in our tank. Last time my tank always attack by algae but now even i switch on my lighting for 12 hours everyday also no problem. The most improtant is your filter. This is from my past experience. I would like to share here. how do you make a 7inch height of soil from the back of aquarium?we use lava rocks to create slope, and reduce the use of ADA soil. This is an alternative way to save budget. Added on March 6, 2012, 2:17 pm QUOTE(z8net @ Mar 6 2012, 01:21 PM) whoa... busted 2500 posts already? V8 is coming? yeps yeps. lava rocks are easy to handle and cheap compare to other stones that you get from LFS.btw lava rock could also be used to tie mosses or riccia... rite weijie?
