I find concrete car porch easy to maintain (but slightly dusty at times). Only issue is you need to make the surface a lil rough, if not it can be slippery.
Slate also another good material but on the slightly more costly side. Do not go for black as dirt is pretty obvious against black but go for something of a beige or grayish hue depending on your preference.

I think the best is you check with the manufacturer.

Getting Started

|
I used MML Mera colour J44 (Tan) 1x1 for my car porch. The colour is quite pleasing on the eyes, and upkeep so far seems ok. I hve no pattern, just tiled all the pieces, but my tiler added some pebblewash pattern which comes out quite nicely.
My BIL did not use the rough homogenous tiles for his porch, and he really regret because (1) can be slippery and (2) colour a bit light can see the dirt easily.

QUOTE(monteinterior @ Sep 13 2011, 09:56 AM) why dont u go for concrete imprint.... consider it... FYI, my house has concrete imprint done by the developer. No matter how good is the workmanship, you will see hair line crack soon or later. In my case, the crack is up to 4mm wide. No doubt it does look good and lasting. QUOTE(enriquelee @ Oct 3 2011, 02:28 PM) It is strange to see concrete imprint get hair line crack. I made a complaint to the developer and the answer I got is all cement will have crack. It is just like the cement that plasters on the wall, certain place will see hair line crack.

Even poured concrete can crack after 15 years NOT due to soil settlement (if it was, already crack 10 yrs ago) but due to mango tree roots terrorising the neighbourhood Maybe should follow HK way of making roads: Pour it in 1m x 1m tiles. Crack already, just redo that section.
