Yeah, I am considering Tanah Merah, Bedok and tampines as well.
There are shuttle buses from Expo to CBP, have to pay a small fee coz the company that offers me do not provide free shuttle.

With effect from 1 September 2011, the employers' CPF contribution rate has increased by 0.5%
from the current 15.5% to 16.0%. This affects all employees of Singapore Citizen and Singapore Permanent Residents.

Increase in CPF Salary Ceiling to $5,000
To keep pace with income growth in recent years, the CPF salary ceiling will be adjusted upwards from $4,500 to $5,000

1. The change applies to all age groups and will take effect from 1 September 2011.
All employees will benefit from the 0.5 percentage point increase in employer CPF contribution, while those earning more than $4,500 a month, estimated to be 390,000 members, will benefit from the increase in the CPF salary ceiling.

The last change in the CPF salary ceiling was in 2006, when it was lowered from $5,000 to $4,500.

if my calculation is correct smile.gif
for those working in the Bank under EP, who get back their CPF from their employer, from S$697.50 now get back S$800 a month leh nod.gif

A Chinese national woman had reportedly forced her boyfriend, a local secondary three boy to marry her.

The woman is 26, holds a student pass and is in Singapore to study, while the sec three boy comes from a comfortable background and is an introvert.

The two were introduced to each other at a friend's birthday party and had exchanged phone numbers. Because she sported youthful looks and a babyface, the boy did not suspect that she was in fact 11 years older than him.

Soon after their first meeting, the woman courted the boy aggressively with messages and online chats. The two soon progressed to become a couple.

Three to four months later, the woman initiated sex with the boy. After the two became intimate, she began to pressure him to marry her.

The boy did not know what to do and in the end asked his parents for help.

This case was cited by a counsellor as an example of another tactic used by Chinese national women to snag Singaporean husbands. Besides matchmaking and introductions through friends and relatives, some Chinese national women use student passes to look for husbands in Singapore.

These women, sometimes girls as young as 17, may get pregnant with a Singaporean boyfriend and insist on marriage.

According to the counsellor, some of these women marry to acquire Singaporean citizenship, then use it as a stepping board to go to US or Australia.

Yo guys. Need some help here. My friend is coming down to SG this weekend for holiday.  Any good backpackers hostel to recommend? As long as the hostel is clean and not situated in the red light district, she won't mind. I remember someone mentioned it before but somehow search didn't come up anything useful.
