Are you kidding? Infineum is a joint ventures of 2 companies which rank among the world biggest in OnG. It will build you portfolio up in no time. I'll not think twice to join this company if I'm not working at where I am now biggrin.gif

QUOTE(FollowN @ Nov 6 2011, 09:25 AM)
Hey guys, I'm new to Singapore. Fresh, started my first a week ago.

I've been looking on the net and asking colleagues about opening a bank account. Based on the relatively simple research I did, the ones I've shortlisted are:
1) Stanchart (no minimum deposit for opening an account, 1% rebate for a type of debit)
2) DBS (convenience - plenty of ATMs is the sole reason)
3) UOB (convenience - a branch right next to my workplace)

My habits are relatively simple because I'm living in JB (may and may not move to SG) - I spend very little in Singapore i.e. just cheap meals (SGD3-4/meal) to get through the day and the occasional movie/better meals. I do the rest like groceries etc in JB. I'm thinking about UOB since my habits and spending behaviour are relatively stable (UOB has a branch next to my workplace and according to my colleagues, the payday crowd at ATMs isn't as bad as DBS - I'm working in the CBD)

I'd love to hear some opinions and advices from you guys.

Thanks in advance.

Try to get a posb/dbs account. Their ATM machine are like mushroom everywhere. Very convenience.

For matters regarding JB, can pm Lester1987 a.k.a The JB King.

I doubt it coz most CNY bus tickets are snapped up by now.

I suggest apply leave 2 days earlier. Flight ticket on 18/1 isn't so expensive (YET).

JB always have bus 'tambahan'. worst to worst you still can go back by bus kilang smile.gif

Interesting, MY education is better than SG in 2011!

past 3 years score for education

country: rank : past score  ( 2009,2010,2011)
MY : 46 : (1.17, 0.78, 0.84)
SG : 51 : (3.51,1.43, 0.68)

MY is getting worst but SG is like having a disaster.

New MOE minister is trying to fix some problem, it will take some years to see the result.  I personally think MY primary education is better in building up the child. SG school is better at producing number on report card.
*
I believe the reverse. Msia is building a 'classroom' mentality, Sg is encouraging 'thinking out of the box' .
It's really a disgraced, they can't even decide on what language to use as a medium. Really a laughing stock.

Anyone owns a Singaporean bank credit card? (POSB/DBS)
Is there any cons to use it in Malaysia compare to using a Malaysia local bank credit card?

Guys,

I need to arrange a first-time "in-laws meet-up" (my family + fiancee's family) dinner this weekend. Any recommendations? About 10 ppl, I'm paying all so I don't feel like going swanky, think I can feed 10 mouths in a proper dinner for like $300?

Currently thinking of Seafood International cos food is "ok" and not too expensive, but that's only cos I don't know of any other places ...
Oh man I'm so screwed then. Well not me directly, but my fiancee having trouble getting a job sad.gif ... until she gets one, everything I have to pay lol.
*
buy Groupon, lots of it smile.gif
Seriously, you can't really save on this, especially 1st time meeting between the parents. Price is really secondary, most important is nice and tasty food. The thing about seafood is, if it's good then it's REALLy good but if it's bad it could turn real nasty. Suggest you go for canto food, places like Jade Restaurant serve good canto good and you couldn't never go wrong in term of food or service.
