Yesterday afternoon my bf bought a new Robo home so my current Robo not so lonely.. Although they didnt fight at daytime but at night when I took the cage up into my room when I sleep, besides the new wheel being noisy (bought a new wheel because the new Robo seems to be dominant over the current wheel in the cage and the old Robo looks so kelian cuz no wheel to play), I heard them both giving that 'chit chit chit' sound once in a while.. each 'chit' sound around few seconds only.. Im wondering, r they fighting over the wheel or something like that ? it's not long 'chit' sound, but did have a few times they 'chit'.. perhaps they just too new to each other yet and being territorial? both are males by the way...
Today they did get along well.. no more 'chit chit' sound..
Experts can help me out ?

Hmm, if they didnt fight with each other, i guess its ok i guess. But the chit sound is actually a warning to each other. Its like one of them is trying to dominate the other.

Her 'partner' I can see that is still quite young, and the new one is older as his size is twice bigger also.. The minute I introduced them both, the new one already took over the wheel.. left the smaller one alone, wanna climb into the wheel to play also kept falling off... dont know wanna laugh or feel bad for the younger Robo.. Maybe he felt intimidated.. both also males.. possible both also trying to be dominating rite ?

Yeah. I have two robos. Both brothers and recently, they fight each other for space. So now i have to separate them. Is so sad to separate them since they prefer company.

QUOTE(tjaime1984 @ Jun 22 2012, 10:17 AM) Nekochan, they selling at rm20 per head..some selling rm18..but still expensive. if quality, hamster condition & hamster housing is good then its ok. Just check the hamster before getting it & get 1 should be fine, if you getting pairs then make sure both are same sex & prepare 1 more extra housing in case fighting occurs. Its not worth to get from kl all the way to kuantan as price difference isnt that big plus think about petrol & your hamster will probably stress out during traveling. Always best option is to get from good home breeder but if cant find one then get from local pet shop that keeps their hamster in good condition. NEVER get from low quality pet shop that keeps hamster in conditions that are not acceptable. Dont support them as they dont know how to provide pets proper living condition & even if you get from them your hamster might be infected with disease or stress out thus being harder to tame it. In the end he bites you a lot & keeping hamster wont be a fun experience for you then. If its tame then you can carry it, hold, talk, fed etc with it, thus giving you a wonderful time with your hamster. Just a tip to you guys before deciding to get a hamster.

Recently, the pet shops I always go, their mealworms is currently out of stock. Because is made of aspen http://www.hamsterific.com/beddingguide.cfmWhere is your location? Last time i was searching dried mealworms too & most of the shop ran out. I found a petshop in summit but unfortunately it wasnt the alex brand i used to fed my hamster but they had jolly brand though. Its mixed with mealworms & shrimps. Bought it & been feeding my hamster with that, he eats the mealworms but sometimes leave out the shrimps. If you dont mind trying new brand & feeding your hamster with shrimps then you could try that brand.

The (late) brother had always been the loud one... but they don't usually fight. Feeling really sick and dumbfounded right now. Any advice? I just can't move.....FML.

I just added one more Robo to my group of 3... the minute I put the fatso in, WW3 started! at first they were just chasing each other and each one rolled upon others so fast I couldnt even recognise which is which.. End up, chit non stop... i saw the fierce one! He was chasing everyone in the cage, not recognising who his friends were.... end up I realise he kept chasing off the new addition (fatso) into 1 tube and whenever the fatso came out of the tube the fierce one went and attack him.. in the end, while they both were fighting i just had to split them apart and hold the poor little fatso up and guess what, the fierce buddy was still biting the fatso I found fatso with a wound on his ass... aih... poor fella... now alone in another cage.. tomorrow gonna bring him see vet liao

Mine just died less than 2 hours ago from being eaten. It's weird not hearing the other making a lot of ruckus in the cage now.

This is why we strongly advice dont keep your hamsters in pairs, its not wrong la to keep them together but you need to keep an eye on them plus they might get along at first but they can be hostile to each other in any moment & when that happens the result isnt fun. A lonely hamster is always better than a injured hamster/dead hamster. Anyways sorry for your loss & i hope you take good care of the other fella. Its not his fault btw to kill the other hamster so dont punish him as he wont know why he is being punished This post has been edited by infernoaswen: Jul 11 2012, 05:12 PM

Its not his fault btw to kill the other hamster so dont punish him as he wont know why he is being punished After getting rid of the lil brother body today, I cleaned the cage, gave the other fella a little washing and left him on his own for now. Didn't bother spoiling him as before. Not going to punish him but will take a while for me not to see him as a 'killer'. On the bright side, I learn something new about hamsters.
