living world and habitrail accessories are alright
but not their bedding or food
living world contains pine
any bedding with pine or cedar is not good

i do not agree with saying "i used chipsi scented for 5 years and my hamsters are fine so they are 100% safe to use"
sorry but thats like saying "i've let my dog run free for 5 years on the road and he never had a car accident.. therefore dogs never get accidentally hit by cars before
all i would say is. if you love your hammy. nothing scented UNLESS you cant find an alternative
(i.e. most hamster bathing sand are scented.. but chincilla (NOT CAT) bathing sands are fine)

food: vitakraft (harry hamster recommended for syrians only)

yes prepare a toilet.
if you potty train your hamster your job of cleaning the cage will be much much less
it'll be less smelly too (mine no smell at all)

2) yes if you want to toilet train your hamster. please refer to page 1 on how to potty train your hamster.

& about scented beddings u can read over here >> http://hamsterhideout.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=59802. another alternative bedding is corn cob type (the one made from natural corn). those are safe for hamsters but the disadvantage of that bedding is its does a bad job is insulating heat unlike wood shavings.


btw dream i used the woddy pack already last week....my hamster doesnt really like it...i notice the smell is too strong & he dosent sleep/eat in the toilet when i started use that. but it does a excellent job in absorbing his urine tho...

havent...going to try it tho after my chipsi classic finishes. apparently i read its better than chipsi in terms of scent. they say chipsi scent is stronger compare to delikate. (not sure if they changed their quality already or not...hopefully its still good like back in those days)...

haha yeah i read that chipsi strong pine-like scent
thats why suspect they change their softwood source from spruce and fir to pine
i still got 1.5 pack of vitakraft dinner which will expire in december so i cant afford to buy harry hamster to make the 10 day switch thingy yet

i never get the chance to try chipsi bedding back in those days so i cant be sure...but their bedding is still soft & less smell compare to the living world bedding which is made from pine. so not so sure....plus i think if they change they will update their website right?

i see....mine still got half bottle...try giving your hamster mealworms i started giving him live mealworms & he never hoard it...just grab it & start nom nom nom nom on it....

u can try...its rm1 only...so cheap...if he dont eat u can always throw it away . most probably he will eat it la...its their natural instinct....plus they will always try to nib on new scent items...just like what my hamster did with woody pack at first...he thought that was food

i breed before. the beetle not really big.about 1~2 cm?? depends on the mealworm. that time i bought mealworms , after 2 days in the container there was a bunch of pupae. after 2 weeks , there are beetles!

Anyways , my white yesterday , suddenly bite little chip till bleed so much.. dunno why. she bite , chip was screaming and i tried to separate them but she keep bite him dunwan let go.. poor chip.. she pms kah?!

is your cage too small?
hamsters are known to be territorial if the space is too small
cause sudd all your hamsters aggressive to one another.
but if lets say its 1 pair. they fight
you mix with another cage mate..
they wouldnt get together
fast will fight.. for winters and campbells..
they are not social animals.. at best pairs
so thats why for winters and campbells.
unless you have space... dont breed
in case they need to go solo...

i know loads of ppl who rare winters and campbells in social group or pairs
and breed thinking can keep all together
then find out they cannot and need to go solo
so for those with winter white
dont breed unless you can afford to let each of them go solo or risk fighting
and if you wanna get them.. get a PAIR.. ensure there's adequate space..
if they still fight. let them go solo like syrians.

for harry hamster
can feed to ww no problem
its just that i heard from others that
harry hamster pellets quite big
dwarf have difficulty eating

Dont worry , i have 4 cages at home already >_<. If they need to go solo , worry not. I'm a good owner .

the cage is medium , but she only fights with her sister. When i put the male she dont fight at all. She's okay with the male.
I also dont understand why, normally they will fight if the smell is different but she likes my male one - -~
I put my male with the other female , they also okay.
My male is very very 'good'. He wont fight back if get bullied , he's a very gentleman hamster. No wonder the ladies dont mind to be with him.. but he very horny - -".

As for white , i also think she's pregnant , she's been getting really big and fat. But she still not yet give birth. Her nipples also seem like its 'swelling' but i saw them mated 2 weeks ago on saturday... as well as sunday monday tuesday LOL..
Well today is wednesday , maybe she wasnt in heat on saturday .
I already put her to another smaller cage that i just bought specially for pregnant hamsters to stay and give birth in peace xD .
Have a wheel , home , water bottle and food bowl enough for her every needs.


Anyways , i could not resist sorry. Pets wonderland having hamster offer , Rm18 each , they sell syrian for Rm35 , drop to Rm18 .
I know that syrian can buy for Rm15 butt..
I always love this white syrian that i always see in pets wonderland. Pure white , have black ears and red eyes. I dont really like the common syrian that are just.. orange and white. I love that pure white one.
Arghh could not resist . I bought it. Will upload pictures soon

I went pet wonderland yst too..they are having hamster offer.. their cages are cheap that come with bedding n food..less than 100... ...petmore also having offer...their hamster is cheaper than petwonderland... but their cage are quite exp...hmm...i wonder why now pet wonderland selling nt much hamster product..tot wan to find some other brand bedding also cant get at there...

yeah kinda limited stuff they got...last time i went there...their bedding section was almost full of chipsi bedding

i think in terms of petstore hamsters, petsmore and pet wonderland not so good

petsmore: dont change bedding, no wheel to run, got mites, nothing to bite, food bowl always empty

pets wonderland: buy 1 syrian free 1 syrian (encouraging ppl to buy two syrians, but didnt tell them two syrians = two cages)

bedding.. if anyone can find aspen... especially kaytee aspen.. please do share the info

I saw the hamsters in pets wonderland and pets more in very bad condition. The eye looks like got infection and always got a few hamster injured.

Anyways , this is my new syrian , Panda. She kinda looks like a rat + chinchilla sometimes ==!
