What??? Babies everywhere in the house with a Shih Tzu and they're found alive? Hahaha that's interesting.
My condo also has an elderly lady with a Shih Tzu, she carries it out using the baby pram to avoid suspicion haha.

Does anyone know if those wood pellet bedding is ok for dwarf hamsters? I bought a packet after seeing they use it in pet shops, supposed to be better at absorbing urine and bad smells than normal bedding. The salesgirl said that when hamster urinates, the pellet will turn into dust. But then now I see my hamster like a bit pitiful, doesn't really dig around like he used to. I don't know whether it's because the bedding is uncomfortable, or whether it's because he's just not used to it yet.

Hmm I personally don't use wood pellet bedding because to me it looks difficult for them to burrow and my hamsters like to dig around and pick pieces of bedding to nest.

My dwarf hamsters just got into a fight.. The big bully the slightly smaller size... He got injured, some bleeding.. So I separate him...

This injured hamster had become very jumpy/nervous now, and looks frightened... When I put on my hand, he will bite me... He had never bite me before... When I touch him in the cage, he 'jumps' away, with some weird sound...

Is it cos he is too frightened? What can I do to make it back to normal? FYI, he is still eating like normal, and active in the small cage...

They have a territorial behavior. It is recommended to separate them. Mine also like this. at early stage, they are ok but when grown up, they started to fight. Best thing to do is to separate them. After setting up their new cage for each of them, just let them live and adopt with their new home. Then, you may start the process to tame the hammies again. Mine's work, they are happy in their respective home.

I used to use wood pellet bedding for my hammies but quite kesian coz she really loves digging around & its kinda troublesome to filter the pellets.. keep the ones that havent broken down etc when i do cleaning.

Now i use this : https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hpho...267930203_n.jpg

Its really soft and they love building "hills" and sleeping on it. And i only change it once in 1.5-2 weeks. No smell at all smile.gif

Here's a pic of her snoozing! smile.gif

Btw, their hammie food is finishing up and i don't really like the current one i'm feeding them with, purchased at Nilufar. Any recommendations for Syrians?

Thanks in advanced!

Hey be careful to check your package first before it's too late. My bedding package once was very very very dusty (literally like dust) and there was pieces of rubber bits in it. It was quite disappointing that the store said they can't do anything about it since the entire batch is like that.

Anyways, I'm feeding my girl Living World's food from Pets Wonderland. My girl loves it.

Yeah, like bits of balloons like that. But shouldn't be a problem now since that was the previous batch. But it's very inconsistent, usually you'll either get the good kind where it's dustless and feels more like soft stones, or the bad ones which are the dusty kind.

Nilufar's one was fine when I tried it, but I wanted to try something different. If you really want something good, I think Ikano has the Vitakraft ones which has been highly recommended by many hamster owners. My girl seems very healthy and lively with Living World's food haha. smile.gif

Hello guys...

I left this hammies arena since the last 4 years i think.. Since my sweet Buttercup died.. But suddenly last night my father-in-law brought home a weak hammie...dlm byk2 binatang.. He actually found a hammie in a construction site.. Kesian this cute lil fella.. I bought a temporary small cage n enough food for her.. Gonna buy a better 1 after i get my commission..

So about this hammie.. By the look of it i think it's a WW pearl... N the furs kinda gugur i think.. Dunno how long she have been out there... How lucky for her that my father-in-law found her.. So i called her LUCKY... Any hint on how to make LUCKY as fluffy as new?

This is how LUCKY looks now

My pair of hamster seems to have something wrong.. Initially the male and female is of the same size (bought them when they are 3 weeks old).. Then after few months, the male is much more smaller compare to the female, and he always hide and sleep in one corner... Is bullying happening?

They tend to fight a little when I see them... But not sure if it playing or real fighting.. Any idea?
