Between a minimum of 1 - 3 months. In certain cases, it can be longer.
You expect it to be settled within 1 week ? Nope, it is absolutely impossible and it is ridiculous to have such expectations. I'd suggest, if the transaction is not your fault then just sit back and relax.

Hi, I want to ask the AmBank Double Gold promotion. We will get 2 cards with 1 application right? So, are they charging 2 times RM50 or just once as in Maybankcard 2?

Thanks

The correct word to use is - you are asked to apply 2 cards. Cards are "bundled" unlike Maybankcard 2 where it is a single product with 2 cards. Thus you need to pay the RM50 twice.

Did you read the product information throughly ?

TS please update first post now CIMB no longer accepts credit card application via the "prompt" method (premier cards). Full income documents required for submission since April this year. I just dropby the Card Centre in Pavilion just now to enquire.

Can I ask, bank reserves the right not to waive annual fees for more than 1 year? eg my credit card start on april 2008. When i apply for it, they say free for life. Then I dont know bank silently charge annual fees into my bill for 2009 and 2010. Bank waive annual fees rm 400 from april 2010 to april 2011. But from april 2008 to april 2010(total rm800.00) the stupid hong leong bank refuse to waive. i approached bank negara but bank negara say it is not under bank negara ruling as hong leong bank has its own ruling. If that is the case , I strongly feel credit card is out there to cheat public money. If during application , stated free for life, why bank still want to charge annually fees into our bill silently, in the hope , we forget to call for waiver, the bank is laughing its way charging us the annual fees. It is bank software so babarian till cannot detect which holder can waive and whice cant waive? This is really a trap!!

One thing that you need to understand is that unless the credit card product specifically mention in their application disclosure (like HSBC do) and/or publicly mentioned that the card product is free for life (e.g MBB2, Direct Access) then the product is UNLIKELY to be free for life. The free for life is merely a marketing gimmick by the card promoter to get you to sign up.

From your story it sounds like your card product is free for the first year only. (Unless you can product B&W proof then your application did mentioned free for life) I'm afraid BNM is right when they mentioned that the bank have the right to determine their policies to their customer.

One thing I don't understand is why you allowed the bank to get away when they charge you the Annual Fee in 2009? Plus you allow it to happen again in 2010.

They don't want to waive then just cancel the card ... is it a simple and clear decision to do.Can you explain your decision to us as to why you are so hard up with this Hong Leong credit card ?

There are many card products out there and consumers have a choice.
Bro ... it is the bank's prerogative whether they want to waive you or not. It is not automatic nor it is your right to get the waiver.

I dont think we should comply with swipe xx times per year to get AF waived. I never do this and waiving the fee just a phone call away to CS.

It depends on the product. That's why I hate those cards that require min swipe for AF waiver.

thanks for yr reply. i am a frog under the coconut shell. i dont know bank will charge annual fees silently even free for life. I took for granted and just pay the ammount in the bill until lately my friend told me there will be annual fees though is free for life, I need to call to waive. So, i called last month...and bank refuse to waive the previous year.
Dont you feel bank is doing dirty job? Their software cant detect who to waive and who cant waive? this is obviously a trap .
Now i am credit card phobia...i dont hold any of them. If they call me apply, i make sure they get scolding from me though is not their fault...it is society fault. Design so many rules and tricks just to steal public money and you cant sue them as they are taking advantage of the loose law

You were misinformed that's all. Many were misled with card promoters who will do anything to meet their quota.
Whenever a persistant card promoter walks up to me with so called free for life ...

I'll asked loudly (if there's people around) "Is the free for life conditional or not ?
Or "Your bank does not have the Free for Life cards!" and end with
"Don't misled your customers and talk truthfully about your product!".

HLB is known to be tricky with their promotions. We all here know that.
And you shouldn't be phobia ... just get another card from another bank. You see the AF in your statement, ask nicely whether it can be waived. If they say no then decide whether you want to continue or pay the AF. If you don't want to pay then cancel card. And check your statement ....

You have to take responsibility for your decision. Can't blame others.
And let me tell you that fee waivers are not automatic for normal consumers. Auto waive ... can. Be a privilege customer of the bank and your cards are always auto waiver. This will cost you RM200-250k depending on the bank.

I don't allow the card promoters to trick me if they attempt to misled me. Normally ... they will speak truthfully the moment I blow their cover or their manager will attend to me thinking I'll be hard to handle.

Hey .... there are even promoters who think Platinum or Business Platinum can match Worldcard / Infinite products. Laughable I tell ya.

Your situation may be different and not applicable to another customer and/or comparable to another case. If you don't mind, please share your dispute case in detailed. (Date, Location, Description, Amount, etc. )

So others are able to compare apple to apple.

I have to state this upfront as many here will think their case is super important and they want to settle it in 3 days also.
