Looks like no one cares about being fair, paying for what you use. Instead they want unlimited to abuse. Oh well.

My speedtest is around 4Mb/s.
However, when download, the speed is mostly around 50KB/sec.
Max = 200KB/sec.
Anyone facing the same problem??
And i notice at night, the speed at Wireless Network Connection Status fluctuate from 54Mbps to 18Mbps...

Yes, and from experiences, it is highly likely that they'll charge you for it by the meter as well. Watch out.

maybe the question i'm posting here has been answered before but i couldn't seem to find it in the forum (too big maybe!)  tongue.gif  before switching to unifi, surfing/logging-in to android market/facebook thru my samsung galaxy s2 is a painless exercise... no prob... but the moment swithcing to unifi, the connection became erratic... sometimes cannot log-in at all & even if i managed to do so, it'll be so friggin' slow. what's the issue? can anybody help?  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Should be the router problem if you're using the TM-Provided-Shitty-Router

I want TMNet (Unifi) to impose data cap.

BUT... I want them to also provide cap plans...

Let's face it.. as long as there is no cap, many will be abusing the shit out of the connection, leaving torrents on 24/7 etc and download terabytes of junks, just because they can.

So... let's say...

RM 99 gives you VIP 5 with 40GB
RM 139 gives you 80GB
RM 189 gives you 150GB

RM 199 gives you VIP 10 with 80GB
RM 249 gives you 160GB
RM 299 gives you 240GB

etc etc.. ignore the maths and all.. I am sure it sucks..

And if you exceed your limit, you can buy 10GB for RM10 so that you wont' have to endure super slow connect for the rest of your billing cycle.. pretty much like how they do it in Aussie..

I would gladly pay extra for reliable service. At least this is something they can control.

And I hope they would use the extra cash from these extra data plans to upgrade their infrastructure.

I am sure this would be more fair. I mean, if you want to download like crazy and use up the system, go ahead, pay more to support the system.

I would rather pay for let's say 120gb a month and being able to to surf all the time with no issues or download stuff fast as and when I need to.. than to have unlimited, but horribly unreliable connection.
*
Let's face it. A 60GB cap is ridiculous in 2011. We're doing a lot online these days, and they're consuming more data than ever: HD video streaming, photos backup to the cloud, file syncing service, video calls etc. The base cap should not be lower than 150GB in my opinion, and I'd just call it acceptable, not great.

I agree on extra data purchasing though. No point upgrading our packages just because we've ever so slightly exceeded our data cap.

i heard that my flat VDSL system is hiding on the Electrick room on Ground Floor, but i not sure about it, and when i call to Unifi Technical department, they say is use the Old Streamyx port and line...and i live on 13th floor, get burned one is 1st floor, is really charge the LAN/Telephone Cable, is Ground Floor to 2nd floor or Ground Floor to 13th Floor? because if Ground Floor to 13th floor, don't say fibre..only LAN Cable/Telephone Cable maybe i already needed to pay RM1000+ ==

== Impossible they will pull that cable for you... If other users also request, imagine how many they need to pull... and how messy will it be. it's possible that they have a central system and the picture you shot is just the distribution point of that floor. I'm not so expert in this. Just sharing my thoughts. haha... If unifi say OK then OK la. If not OK also they won't charge you right...

this is the telephone room on my floor...and 1st floor of this room get burned..and all line already get cut by the Flat management...and now homeline is unable to use..but i heard that other people said that VDSL are not in this room, so i can install Unifi...and when i use laptop, i can search some Unifi user on this building...but i not sure they can online or not...

I believe the VDSL equipment will be in G floor.. They will use same cable to connect to your unit..

If you current phoneline cannot be used, it's mean the connection already cut of.

In the picture you see the cable goes up.. There goes to another floor. For you floor, surely the cable will go through 1st floor. If the cable not cutoff maybe can still install.. If not, need to wait for new cable.. I wait for almost 1 1/2 month for a new cable when live in flat before. The cable cut off by the thief. Happen 2 times within 6 months..

they cant just pull the cable on 1st floor to 2nd floor and connect to my house? if like this then i think needed to wait unlimited time because this flat management really suck...just cut all the burned cable and put on there don't do anything...all people go complaint also don't do anything...

Worst come to worst you can pull yr own RJ11 cable. It wont cost much. I had same case before, pulled new cable from server room to the unit on 12th floor unit the cable tray tie the RJ11 with cable tie. Send the cable from top floor to down easier.

Someone confirmed this but not sure and don't know whether TM will do some tweak to disallow this. Just connect to LAN4(red colour one) of DIR615 and you're good to go
