Arsenal fans know about this tour agency mayflower offering football packages to watch arsenal matches?

http://events.mayflower.com.my/index.php?o...ootball-arsenal

Prices vary according to the opponents, but yet still quite reasonable(short trip also anyway).

The Emotional Highbury and The Grand Ashburton Grove

Highbury 1913-2006

For the majority of their time in south-east London, Arsenal played at the Manor Ground in Plumstead, a three-year period at the nearby Invicta Ground between 1890 and 1893 excepted. The Manor Ground was initially just a field, but the club installed stands and terracing in time for their first Football League match in September 1893. They played their home games there for the next twenty years (with two exceptions in 189495), until the move to north London in 1913.
user posted imageuser posted image

Arsenal Stadium, widely referred to as Highbury, was Arsenal's home from September 1913 until May 2006. The original stadium was designed by the renowned football architect Archibald Leitch, and had a design common to many football grounds in the UK at the time, with a single covered stand and three open-air banks of terracing. In the 1930s, the entire stadium was given a massive overhaul, with new Art Deco West and East stands constructed, opening in 1932 and 1936 respectively; in addition, the North Bank terrace had a roof added, which was later bombed during World War II and not restored until 1956.

At its peak, Highbury could hold over 60,000 spectators, and had a capacity of 57,000 until the early 1990s. The Taylor Report and Premier League regulations forced Arsenal to convert Highbury into an all-seater in time for the 199394 season, reducing the capacity to 38,419 seated spectators. This capacity had to be reduced further during Champions League matches to accommodate additional advertising hoardings, so much so that for two seasons (199899 and 199900) Arsenal played Champions League home matches at Wembley, which could house more than 70,000 spectators.

Final moments - the emotions run high in Highbury

Ashburton Grove 2007-present

Expansion of Highbury was restricted because the East Stand had been designated as a Grade II listed building and the other three stands were close to residential properties. These limitations have prevented the club from maximising the revenue that their domestic form could have brought in recent seasons. After considering various options, in 2000 Arsenal proposed building a new 60,000-seater stadium at Ashburton Grove, since renamed the Emirates Stadium, about 500 metres south-west of Highbury. The project was initially delayed by red tape and rising costs, but construction was completed in July 2006, in time for the start of the 200607 season. The stadium is named after its sponsors, the airline company Emirates, with whom the club signed the largest sponsorship deal in English football history, worth approximately 100 million; however some fans refer to the ground as Ashburton Grove, or the Grove, as they do not agree with corporate sponsorship of stadium names. The stadium will be officially known as Emirates Stadium until at least 2012, and the airline will be the club's shirt sponsor until the end of the 201314 season.

Gunners linked with Dortmund midfielder

It appears that Arsenal are lining up a move for Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa.
Kagawa, who currently plays for Bundersliga champions Borussia Dortmund, has already attracted a lot of interest from Manchester United and now appears to be on Arsene Wenger’s radar.
With Wenger finally being able to attain a work permit for youngster Ryo Miyaichi, it could be feasible that the Frenchman could look to another Japanese star to join Ryo at the Emirates.
After being linked earlier in the summer with Man United, Kagawa stated:
‘If I get a formal offer, I’ll be strongly interested in listening to what they have to say.’
‘The Premiership is one of the leagues I want to challenge. If it is United, I’ll be still more eager to go and try and see how much I can do there.’
Kagawa will be relatively an unknown man to many Arsenal fans (me included). However, at age of 22, he is already making people take notice of him.
The attacking midfielder managed to score 10 goals in 26 games for Dortmund last season and has seen his international career progress from the Japan Under-20 and Under-23 ranks all the way to the senior squad, making 23 caps and scoring 7 goals along the way.

I really enjoy watching liverpool players shoot from distance.. it's been a long time since our squad got some players who really can shoot and score from 20-30 yards out.. or at least have some guts to try..

Our team looks headless without a playmaker. Rosicky his usual mediocre self. Can't he shoot on target anymore? As always, we conquer the midfields but upfront its the same boring passing game.

Rosicky is suprising weak at the centre of midfield. I guess theres an urgency to get Mata and maybe put Arshavin at the centre, while Jackie is injured

No one can boss the midfield like cesc does. No one can do the 360. Guess we really need a quality replacement for cesc. Also, our players is same old again. Everyone waiting for pass instead of running into spaces. Gervinho can try to shoot more. His passes could be better. Lastly, Gibbs sux. His passing angle is really low and the right leg is useless

Defense has been pretty good so far. Song was good at shielding the ball. But control sux. Now our attack is lacking. Gervinho looks sharp but he is not threatening AT ALL. Seriously Newcastle's attacks are more threatening compared to ours. C'mon, midfield maestros, please create something.

kieran gibbs looks like he reached his maturity in his game. I was hoping I'd see some major performance from him compared to last season, but mehh...

Without cesc or jack, who could actually take the midfield role? Aaron has potential, but he's not there yet. Hoping for some entertaining 2nd half.

Jesus. WTF is with the negativity?

I actually quite like what I'm seeing this first half. Granted, some of the players do seem a bit rusty (eg Rosicky and Arshavin) but overall we're still controlling the game. No clear cut chances so far for either side, but to be fair Newcastle is defending quite deep whenever we have the ball.

Gervy looks lively but his decision-making needs sharpening. I don't see any reason for the Rosicky bashing that's slowly gaining momentum here - he's doing fine without any major mishaps. If anything, Rambo seems to give away more cheap balls although he fights to get it back every time

Go easy on Gibbs. His first 45 minutes isn't any worse than Clichy.

C'mon guys. Arsenal are playing competetively withoust Cesc and Nasri, so its bound to be a tad unfamiliar to them

This is a tamed Newcastle side, one without Nolan. But even then, they know how to handle Arsenal. Pack the defense and hit on the counter. The question now is, how does Arsene change his tactics? Clearly we lack penetration, so we go deep in the wing. I'm hoping that this team will prove me wrong comes the end of the 2nd half.

Oh and to mr. Nice Guy Rosicsky, show some grit la. Always looking down...haiz.

Boring like shit.. No creativity at all on the front.. If this stubborn head AW plan to challenge any trophies wif this team, might as well forget it..

At this rate, i wish we just give up on the CL, just lose it next week and concentrate on the domestic cups..

We haven't played bad today. The team just seriously lacks a player that can do those 40 yrd defense splitting passes.

No one with the vision to cut open defenses. Will be a tough tough season

Although our players are partially and rightfully blamed, please understand the main culprit is Barton! Gervy is new to the league, you can't expect him adapt to this in his first match.

What I saw was Gervy was down, Barton rushed and grabbed his shirt up - that alone should get him a red but the referee did not award it.

I'm not complaining much, Arsenal lack killer pass and final ball but the defense part has been tremendously improved. You can see Wojciech give something that Arsenal didn't have for some time; commanding his centre back.

Although our players are partially and rightfully blamed, please understand the main culprit is Barton! Gervy is new to the league, you can't expect him adapt to this in his first match.

What I saw was Gervy was down, Barton rushed and grabbed his shirt up - that alone should get him a red but the referee did not award it.

u are right dude.. BARTON think he is tai ko and gervinho sure pissed off! who the hell is he? why so ke bo pull up others?

of course wenger will be happy with this game... he'll say the defence have improved with the new signing of thomas vermaelen, and then starts blaming the ref and barton for the red card of gervinho. if gerv was on arsenal wouldve had the game in the last few minutes due to the mental strength of his squad. why should he be worried? he got a clean sheet too, a big improvement of last season. no signs of crisis there for wenger.

2 points lost.. broken promises of active transfer market activities..
still going with 4-2-3-1 which clearly doesn't bring success..

doing everything the same and expect success == insanity...

probably cesc & nasri already seen this coming.. no matter what, wenger will never spend those money..

Lionel Messi and CRon are totally different species who can do everything themselves. We need to play as a team, but for now, we're not. We're just passing the ball around.

I dont know what are our wingers doing. They like to dribble to the bottom goal line and doing a pass. I know it will normally creates a dangerous threat to our opponent. BUT! we normally losing possession on that. Why not doing something like cutting into centre or even outer the box and do some shots?

Did you guys noticed Arshavin has a black eye?

I only start to watch at the 2nd half and could not noticed it as my streaming was quite blur.

http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/dirty-...?urn=sow-wp4088

the possible reason of the black eye written in the yahoo is quite funny.

cheer up guys, it is just the 1st match and we kept a clean sheet for once.

if no enforcement to replace cecs & nasri, then it is bye-bye to top 4 for this season. cry.gif

It's a straight red, so its 3 match suspension.

Van Persie lost 10 out of 10 through ball chances which is 100%. The attacking flair was there, and the through ball was exceptionally well executed over time through middle, and yet Van Persie don't even know the ball is coming. He is either taking bribes or extremely rusty. He had one decent chance on free kick though.

Gervinho had his first game for Arsenal and looked good, he deserves more support from the middle of the park. He always left alone.

I don't want to comment on Barton, everyone knows who he is. England's icon.

I'm impressed with Arsenal's defence, but they seems to be struggling with long ball and provocations.
Otherwise, I'm glad Arsenal didn't replace our current keeper with new one from transfer window.

Summary, Van Persie should play secondary striker instead of primary. He can't be left alone as lone striker, even in national team he sucked at that.

Maybe he did well in training session as a lone striker because our defenders aware of his fragility.

New stadium = we get 22k attendance more than the highbury. 1 ticket cost 30pounds (average), 30*22k = 440k pounds per game...that is a lot of money.

I guess since Wenger is not buying then we can stop buying Jersey since our money for jersey is only making the board richer..it's like paying taxes to Malaysian govt..

Did you guys noticed Arshavin has a black eye?

I only start to watch at the 2nd half and could not noticed it as my streaming was quite blur.

We need to start well like the seasons before.. as we usually falter during the later stages of the season.. mental strength is not there coupled with a very lean squad.. (not many quality squad players).. at any point of the season.. squillaci will be called upon.. and you'll see we'll start conceding goals then...

lol even 1 of my mate asked me whether want to get a new season jersey together with another couple of friends (with free 125th anniversary towel), I told him not to spend money on jersey at the moment since $$ all goes into board, not investing on players.

We are likely the same as those "2nd class" Primera A teams...keep the money and hardly spend on players, as long as finishing at the top (3rd-6th place) will be more than happy.

Koscielny last ditched header near the end was really great. I thought Newcastle gonna score at that time.

And i thought Vermaelen and Koscielny did well handling long ball eventhough Ameobi and Ba have very big physical.

He is building a strong foundation for the club, making self-sustainability as the fundamental of the club's priority.

He knew he's going to retire in years to come, so he's doing all the best he could to provide secure future for the club he loves. Well that's a personal opinion though.

He rejected Real Madrid 'twice', and he sticks with his young guns and his club because he trust them so much, just like how we trust AW. It's a frustrating night, and i hope something can be done to repair Wenger and the fan's relationship.

Anyway, i guess Song will be suspended for next 2-3 games for that stamping incident. Together, we have both Song and Gervinho unavailable, those injured players remain injured and Ryo will not be available for next game too.

Arsenal 'not so young anymore' guns should've prove something to repay Wenger's faith in them. They're playing wandering ghosts

I'd like to say that i'm pleased with what i've seen today from Koscielny & Szczesny. Hope to see some consistency throughout the season from them, it looks as good thus far.

Gibbs isn't that bad as what u guys are complaining about, he's just a similar mould as our previous LB Clichy, diff is that Clichy is more experienced. Give Gibbo a few more matches to gain some playing time n experience.

Gervinho is like another 'last season' Walcott, full of forward runs but lack of proper finishing today.

Van Persie should just be deployed as CF/AM behind another poaching striker if Wenger were to use 4-5-1 formation. He certainly isn't suited as lone striker n we've seen evidence since last season as well. He either needs a striking partner (4-4-2) or behind a striker would suit him better. Probably can take over Fabregas' role instead but i doubt Wenger would do that anyway.

Other players? Mehh, nothing much to shout about.

Song is really classy. Good one he stamped on Barton leg. Arsenal need player who know the 'dark' art. Finally someone stood up and not let the opposition trash them anymore. Gervinho reaction was normal. Who wouldn't get angry when someone grab you by your collar and force you to stand up? It was really lack of respect. And we not even know what were their conversation leading to that incident.

Today we totally played like being bribed. The whole midfield is not working well mainly because of Rosicky. When I saw him playing in the midfield out of sudden I do not feel like watching it anymore. He slowed down the entire team and besides creating negativity in the offense, he did absolutely nothing. He should be the player received most bribes in the game. Whenever the team is attacking or counter attacking on an accelerando pace, as soon as the ball reached him, very automatically he will either stop the ball instead of running forward with it or pass it back. oh a big slap at my face what on earth you are trying to prove Rosicky, a back pass master? I would like Wenger to sell him 2 years ago.... Had been enduring him for 2 long season and next to come yet he did not fail to disappoint me. He had been missing scoring opportunities last 2 seasons and today, he stop the whole offense. All I can see is he stopped the ball and pass it back when the entire attacking squad is running forward or had already stationed there, or running forward with the ball and did a tremendous accurate pass back to the back line... Pulling back the attack. Slow down the offense, stop the offense, wasted everyone's energy and effort and this is the ex-captain for Czech Republic national football team. No passing forward, no killer pass...nothing.

Ramsey is quite invisible in the entire game. Just knew that he did not position himself well always during the offense. Van Persie missed most of his chances and only got a shoot on target.

Though some of you said the defense was good but in actual fact, the defense didn't do much today (that doesn't mean I am bashing them, they played well). Newcastle did not have too many attack opportunities and was always stopped by our midfields before having the chance to roam into the last defense line. ANd They did not attack us many times which is a compliment to them when compared to the amount of time we were in possession and at their half of ground. But imagine replacing all the offense line of Newcastle with MU, they are extremely good at one touch(as oppose to our boot bouncing stop), one-two pass, aerial attack and capability to shoot from anywhere anytime on the field, it is hard to imagine how much we can cope with that. Of course at this time we should start to worry so we can prepare as much as possible so to do the best when the times come.

Gervinho is a good and hardworking player and I kinda like him, no comments on the red card though. Gibbs played exactly like Clichy and we should worry about his overlapping as his spot will always be empty and God knows where he is. He will have to face the likes of Nani, Valencia, Young, Rafael etc in coming weeks and missing in his spot means we grant the defending champ free attack chances on the left.

On a bright side, fortunately this is just our first game and we still have some time to amend what we should before the transfer window closes and hope Wenger can bring in at least a creative midfielder who can actually do 'forward' penetrating passes, a good experienced center back like Adams preferably biggrin.gif and loan a DM maybe as I am quite worried about Song. Thats all I can say after watching our first match.

For me Newcastle still regard as one of top club in EPL. They used to have really good set of player. And i really like Sir Bobby Robson.. he really was a nice person. But certain misfortune restrain their progress very much. It must be a tough time for their supporter. Same as Arsenal situation right now, but when they finally get their first piece of silverware.. it's gonna be much more sweeter. Of course you must expect bumpy road beforehand.

You guys being a bit harsh on Rosicky surely? I felt he had a good first half. Manage to hold the ball well, control was decent and one or two through passes rolled back the years.

Yes, he faded in the second half and gave the ball away maybe 2-3 times, but I think Ramsey had a far more anonymous performance that the Czech. Ramsey found himself in some good positions but chose the wrong options.

And Gibbs... Some of you guys really like to witch hunt our players. I don't think he did much wrong today. This is similar to how you guys are attacking Jenkinson already.

If anything, I think Van Persie had a bad game, while Arshavin did squat while he was on. Some of you guys love these players too much. RvP is my favourite players (after Cesc previously), but a stinker is a stinker.

we need to remember Arsenal FC is also a small club before Arsene Wenger arrived.

from higbury stadium --> emirates stadium ..
hopefully the board of Arsenal FC directors can find more sponsors to cover the cost of emirates stadium and buy more great players. smile.gif

for the question since when i support arsenal, my answer is when Arsene Wenger arrived in Arsenal FC.

so do not underestimate others, if they find the right coach, they also can do what Arsenal FC just did.
before this i really like Ajax Amsterdam and for sure Bayern Munich, and now my latest favourite club is Barcelona.

A bitter start to the new season. RVP seems rusty and less motivated. Expected more from him as a captain and to stepped up in the Barton-Gervinho incident. If it's Viera, Barton surely had no chance to show his 'Judge Dredd' mode.'

The bright sides were the solid defending from the back four (yes, I gave benefit of the doubt to Gibbs, he did ok for defending). Vermy and Kos - class but the real test is next week the task to contain Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. We won more aerial battle with Vermy. Sagna did his job as usual and it's hard for opponents to break into his territory . Our GK also did well to clear ball out of penalty areas few times. Confidence goalkeeping to me. Although at one time, caught out of position from a long shot.

In the middle- as usual a lot of possession especially in the first half , pass - pass - pass but no penetration. Lacking sparks of creativity but the bright side is Rosicky has found some of his old touches, at least better performance than last season. However he had lost his long shot accuracies.

I am looking forward to Wilshere-Ramsey combo for the next game against Liverpool. Tough job for them for sure.

Song, delivered his job well I think to protect back 4 but overshadowed by his stupidity (that stamping on Barton's calf). One silly mistake like that could costs us next time.

Arshavin on the left - looks more determined this time, hope he's back to his best but the arrival of Ox and Miyaichi means his position is safe no more.

Gervinho - good game given this is his debut in BPL. Few trickeries, a lot of pace, some great passes. I expect him to be a sure starter whenever he's fit and available for the game and deliver a lot of assists. Can play left, right and in the middle. I believed he could be the answer to Nasri.

Walcott - had a quiet game.

RVP - rusty in this game. But who else for us to depend on ? Just hope he stay fit the whole season. Now that Vela is on his way to be loaned out in Spain, and Chamakh still trying to regain his lost of form, this is really worrying indeed. I can only see Gervinho as a worthy striker upfront in the absence of RVP.

For Liverpool match I would like to see how the 12m new signing, Ox fit into the team. My expected line-up :

------------Polish keeper------------
Sagna----Kos------Vermy----Gibbs-
---------------Song----------------
-----Ramsey---------Wilshere-----
Walcott--------------------Ox-----
----------------RVP----------------

That depends on the Song outcome, if he's not available next week, then we might see Frimpong takes his place.

Pliz AW, sign a new centreback and a playmaker. Dun save 60m from Cesc and Nasri sales in the banks. Spend!!!!!!! You know you have to.

watched liverpool game last night and suarez was really good. caroll looks a bit lazy but he got aerial power. unfortunately fall asleep after that and didn't watch arsenal playing.

but i think it will be a tough game for the arsenal defender to contain those two in the next game.

On the bright side, Our GK was steady and we defended set-piece against tall fellas very well (no more man-marking) and hey, Joel Campbell is here...I Think,....

I think the keeper and 4 defender got their credit.. High ball, corner?.. They defended it well..

Midfield.. Arshavin and Song played their role.. Credit to them.. Wat happen to Song n Barton is another issue.. But as DM.. He done well..

Robin, Theo, Aaron,Thomas and Gervinho.. All average..

0-0 is prove that away to st James park against those hardcore match.. We can defend..
It also prove that when striker not doing their job..

Next week against Liverpool at home, will the opp put 3 centre back all the time like Newcastle?.. If not then I looking forward..

*
Agreed. Tommy didn't do much wrong; people are expecting him to be Fabregas but that's just not him. Rambo's old bad habits still persist, which is giving away sloppy balls unnecessarily. I'm unconvinced that Rambo will become the new Fabregas, but he doesn't need to. He needs to focus on things he can do brilliantly which is a fairly aggressive tackle, good linkup play, and short, accurate passes. Leave the fancy 40 yard lobs to Jack when the latter returns.

I like what I saw in Gibbs. Quick, more penetrating than Clichy in the attacking side of things, and he too showed that he can intercept like his predecessor. However his positioning is also like Clichy's, i.e. questionable at times.

And yes, both Andy and Robin were poor by their usual standards.

Robin did step up to the nasty incident. Arguing with the ref, pulling away team mates... that's all we can expect during such situations.

It was utter stupidity from both Barton and Gervinho. Gervy's gotta learn a few things while he's here - 1. The English hates foreigners who go down easily and will slaughter them mercilessly even though they too simulate a lot. It's just not worth it. 2. Don't get into handbags, a brush on the cheek equals being shot by a rifle.

I'm doubtful that Arsene's going to throw the Ox straight into the fray. Andy's likely to start again. I'm still sceptical about Frimpong - the potential is there but his positioning is dreadful. Song's role requires a lot of concentration and ability to read the opponent's run. Track it wrongly and you're left for dead. Lose your man and you'll be in trouble.

And who's the person leaving us in such situation? Song... not cool, not cool at all. Being a thug to a thug doesn't mean you're any better.

1st time watch Arsenal match on HD, best siottt. now onto the match

Gervinho was good. will take time for him to biasakan diri with the pace and mentality of the BPL. he'll get there, the question is whether it will be soon enough for us to keep our challenge of the title or not

Alex Song was also good, easily our best midfielders last night

as with the back 5. only complaint i have is for Kieran who was good going forward but not so at the back. but the promise is there

Robin was not good, made me think maybe we rushed him back too early again from injury

Andy tried, but overall does not looks like a starter for us

on to the red card, rightly given to Gervinho. should have been given to Alex Song as well, but i'm sure he'll be (rightly) punished by the FA for it. so that probably means us going into the match with Liverpool and Man U without the 2 of them. which also means that our midfield 3 for the 2 matches might be the DEEEENNCHH cult leader-Aaron-Tomas. oh god do help us if that the case

i do think their #7 get away with it last night, as he did during the match last season there. and apparently, Gervinho was clipped by Tiote in that incident, which I've not seen the replay yet and will see it to properly comment on it. but then again, nothing we Gooners did not get used to already right yawn.gif

For the first game of the season, this wasn't as bad as it can goes.

Our defend never do any silly mistakes and our keeper is so full of confidence which is a positive thing for us.

The attack u can say it's bad but Ramsey, Rosicky and Arshavin was not our 1st teamer last season and Gervinho is still fairly new to BPL.

I am surprise to see Arshavin sub off pretty early since he is the only guy seems to string those good passes around especially the lob to v.persie which almost gave a 1v1 situation with the keeper

Wenger in 'No Man's Land'
Gunners boss declines to comment on City interest in Nasri

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits the club are in 'No Man's Land' amid the ongoing uncertainty over the futures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

Fabregas seems to be on the brink of joining Barcelona and the European champions' manager, Pep Guardiola, believes there is a good chance of completing the deal.

At the same time, France international Nasri is wanted by Manchester City and is expected to follow Gael Clichy in moving to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Fabregas and Nasri were not involved in Arsenal's 0-0 draw at Newcastle on the opening day of the new Premier League season, when Gervinho was sent off after a clash with Joey Barton.

And Wenger told Arsenal's official website after the match: "We are, on both fronts, in No Man's Land. At the moment, they are players of Arsenal football club."

"I am not against spending money if the players we buy can improve our squad."

Asked directly about an approach from City for Nasri, the Frenchman said: "I wouldn't like to comment on that. We will keep you informed."
Money

Wenger did voice his frustration at the prospect of losing Fabregas and Nasri, as he said: "Yes, we are concerned by that because when you take players at 16, 17, 18 years old and you play them in the Premier League, you need to be brave.

"But you do it first of all because you think they deserve it, but secondly as well because you think the club will be rewarded when they are 23, 24 and are in a position to deliver.

"It is a concern, of course - but if the financial fair play comes in, I think we will be in a very strong position. But at the moment, it doesn't exist."

During the draw at St James' Park, Arsenal fans voiced their frustration at a lack of big-money summer signings.

When questioned about his recruitment policy, Wenger said: "I am not against spending money if the players we buy can improve our squad.

"We have a big squad and if some players leave we will try to bring players in. We request top quality and we are not scared to spend money."

Meanwhile, Wenger believes Newcastle midfielder Barton should have joined Gervinho in being shown a red card after the pair were involved in an unseemly second-half incident.
Decision

Ivory Coast forward Gervinho, making his competitive debut following his summer move from Lille, went down under a challenge in the box and Barton hauled him to his feet.

Gervinho slapped Barton in response, and was sent off by referee Peter Walton, who booked Barton.

Wenger felt the referee was influenced by his assistant and suggested he might appeal against Gervinho's dismissal.

He said: "I think Gervinho didn't deserve a red card, he should give a red to the two players or a yellow to the two.

"I feel the referee has not seen it and the linesman has not seen it properly. I'm 100% sure that the referee did not see the incident so I would like to know who made the decision."
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11670_7100235,00.html

wenger there is clearly alot of top quality players out there (at least when compared to some of your current first teamer rolleyes.gif)

and if there are news about we cant get so and so players cos we are not happy with their price tag, then u are a liar... cos u said u are not scared to spend

Prices vary according to the opponents, but yet still quite reasonable(short trip also anyway).

Wtf ? I wouldn't want mourinho to run arsenal.

Like I said.. 1st game of the season. Tats it.

I rather we start slow and pick up towards the end of the season than flying start then sputtering. We did tat the past 3 seasons.

So, its something different... Definitely. I'm expecting another 2 draws vs liv n manu. Let the players settle in.

On to udinese next.

I think the keeper and 4 defender got their credit.. High ball, corner?.. They defended it well..
This . Sneezy punched the ball well , no nonsense from him . Vermy and Koscielny also cut the aerial pass well .

Arshavin , though didn't contribute much , had a very nice flick over Newcastle defenders for RVP . Too bad RVp bottled it , which he usually capitalized well . Take Arshavin out from the pitch , our creativity went to ZERO . sad.gif

just finished watching the MOTD.a very boring one.can you imagine?a highlight which is boring?lol.they only show our attacks that gone nothing.and good analysis by shearer.our way going forward were awkward and no sense of creativity.many goalscoring opportunities we could have if only arshavin (as picked by shearer) had chose the right teammate to pass to.

robin really look unfit.where's chamakh btw?

well, i do not support barton for picking up gervinho like that. and gervinho also doesnt need to dive. no one should.

but kudos to your centrebacks for a good game, our strikers didnt have much opportunity when you guys defense like that

anyway.. this is so funny.

Arsenal fans ultra chant

'spend some f***ing money'

'we want our arsenal back'

'sack the board'

'6 percent your having a laugh' (the club recently announced a 6% rise in ticket prices)

arsenal board making alot of money... londoners rage already.. what a chant.

So they haven't won a trophy for six years? Well, Manchester United went 26 years without winning the league, Liverpool have now gone 21 years without the title and Manchester City went 35 years without winning a trophy. Tottenham have gone 50 years without winning the league.

i like this part we just have to be patience and trust Arsenal

First match of the season not much expectation plus our first team affected by the departure of Cesc and Nasri. Yesterday's match is to evaluate our team. To fix some minor bugs in the formation, what player to sign in every department, and most important thing is the morale and the attitude of the players.

Getting 1 point in St James Park is always tough. Newscastle always not an easy team to win. Even during Henrys' era, winning team is not certain.

I am satisfied overall but Gervinho's red is abit dissapointing as he misses Liverpool and Man Utd match

In the end United won. But i still remember lots of Arsenal fan questioning Wenger why he didn't buy David De Gea at Soccernet forum some times ago and i repeatedly said that Arsenal already have good goalkeeper at their disposal but they hit back at me by saying Wojciech and Fabianski lacks of experience and not a big name/ top rated player to play for a club as Arsenal. Sometime i find they really love to 'underrate' their own player.

Some people tend to believe in 'hype' created by media and journalist or maybe stats from their video games. But actually it is hard to make a decent signing and make sure the player fit well into the system. And it must take into account that these new player will take some time to familiarize with their new environment especially foreigner, not just in pitch but in their everyday life too. You can't fault Tevez, Reyes or Mascherano for being homesick or hate England weather. Each individual have unique tolerance. If they not happy probably they will not perform well.

There are so many things that must take into consideration before make any signings. I give you another example, if you remember Miguel Angel Angulo. He supposed to signed for Arsenal during 2003 or 2004 but he change his mind last minute after take some time touring inside Highbury. If i'm not wrong the reason he didn't sign for Arsenal because he not confident he can adapt to English environment. Glad he realize earlier, or else i don't know what will happen for him and the club at that time.

Elsewhere, Shaktar confirm Arsenal want Jádson, and Joel Campbell is London bound tonight. More expected tomorrow.

Fabregas is tired to involve in every single game with us. Maybe he prefers to be sitting on bench (and getting $$ for not doing much). Anyway, good luck to him. Hope he wont play against us (like what henry requested before)

QUOTE
Barton went down as if felled by an 18 stone lumberjack. It was painful to watch. If Barton had anything about him at all - like a conscience - he would be too ashamed to show his face in public ever again.

Hopefully, the FA will issue a retrospective red card that, at least for three matches, will spare us Barton's loathsome and boorish behaviour. Nor should the visually-impaired Peter Walton escape.

His amateur and incompetent handling of the game was another reminder of the wretched level to which Premier League refereeing standards have plunged. But the real villain of the piece is Barton.

Jadson was really impactful during Brazil's Copa America campaign, to the point that some people were surprised in Brazil that he wasn't called up again.

Quick obligatory run through of Youtube videos of last season and it seems he much prefers passing down the flanks diagonally (even if the killer pass option might be available). Obviously, you can't tell anything at al from Youtube highlight reels, but can't help feeling that this is part of Wenger's plan - buy many pacy wingers, get someone to spray the balls at them.

Some people will be happy we're making more crosses than trying to unlock defences all the time, I'm sure.

Cesc is gone, so we're definitely looking to change our play a bit.

Cesc = 35 mil

Nasri = 25 mil

Bentner = 8 mil

We can get few quality players.

Hopefully either Jadson, Mata, Hazard, and a decent center-back.
Cesc Fábregas should complete his £35m move to Barcelona today subject to a medical. The details of the deal are understood to be a €14.5m (£12.7m) up-front payment, followed by another €14.5m in October. Arsenal will then receive €5m each year of the five years of Fábregas's Barça contract, plus €6m based on appearances, goals and honours.
Even if Cesc stays on, I believe his heart is somewhere else. It's much better for him to leave. Sad thing is the deal is concluded now and not much earlier. We have like another 16 days to get a quality player to boost the squad.

After watching the highlights of Cesc, no way we can replace him with any other player. His playing style is just unique. Forget bout Lampard or Gerrard, Cesc is the best at his position. Too bad the players around him are just not as good as him.

I wont blame him for leaving Arsenal. Ask yourself, will you stay in a trophyless club for 8 years? Or will you join the best club in the world which has seemingly every chance to do the treble every season?

BARCELONA will today complete the signing of Cesc Fabregas for £35million and rub salt in Arsenal’s wounds by valuing him at £95m more as they set his buyout clause at about £130m.

when he was a gooner, he was valued at 35 mil, now a catalan the value has changed to 130mil. vmad.gif

Wenger shrugged off the criticism of disgruntled Gunners fans at St James’ Park on Saturday imploring him to spend big. Arsenal face Italians Udinese in the Champions League qualifiers tomorrow and Wenger said: “I understand every criticism and I accept every criticism, but I try to do the best for my club.

“I take everything else on board, but I do not necessarily listen to everything. If I listen I don’t necessarily believe everything." whistling.gif

“We are not scared to spend money if we find the right player. Just spending the money is not the target we want. We want to find the right players and, if we find the right ones – whether for £2m or £20m – we will do it." sweat.gif doh.gif

“We have scouts all over the world and we are looking everywhere and, if we find it, we will do it. When I look at Gervinho I think he is a great player. It is frustrating sometimes because it now looks like players are judged just through the amount of money they cost.

“It is a difficult opening to the season because the media environment is not positive for us and the only way we can silence people is by showing the attitude we had at Newcastle. I feel with similar performances we will gain the credit we deserve.”

its normal actually to put a high release clause. That doesnt mean other team have to pay that amount if they want the player.
As for me, i dont really felt anything when they announce the transfer. he is a great player, but he never really bring anything to the club. Football is a TEAM GAME.

I feel you guys, just like United losing CR7 seasons back. But I'm sure with the 35 m pounds, the professor will work out his magic to uncover a potential replacement. No one is bigger than the club sorry to say. and Gunners will bounce back once the key areas are sorted out.

Finally he is gone. Maybe it's time to depend on other players to bring the club up instead of him.

Now the next dilemma would be our "real" captain candidate.

Barca finally so happy. Let's hope that they turn Fabregas into the best not to into and Oscar award winner

good now, sign 1 more big star like 30m, use that sales of bentdner/eboue + remainder sum to raise Samir wages, make him stay. make him our new core.

trying to salvage anything from Cesc's sales

No, i don't need the chill pill. If you followed closely the whole saga, you will know this is a fking joke. Of course i know what is the buyout clause. Definitely, let me ask you back, Would the fkerlona sell fabregas for 35M pounds if the situation is reversed??? OH NOT TO MENTION 25M payment and 10M later on!? Go check goonerblog, if what they reported its true.. Apparently Rosell already released the details.

Also, im glad hes gone, like this gunner said in other Arsenal forum... but he sums it up quite well. Cesc can rot on barca bench.. never a legend, great service only. Period.

Absolutely agreed!

Yes, no doubt he is one of the best playmakers when he in on form, but his loyalty to Arsenal is what piss me off.

I'm so glad it is over.

atlast fabregas is gone ... hope we can settle nasri's case within these few days as well.

we need 2 new players ... a central defender n a midfielder then i believe we are ready for EPL.

once we sell nasri, i hope wenger will go for eden hazard n also vertoghen (hope i spell correctly) or cahill.

Your argument is a little moot IMO. Don't forget that Fab would consider no club other than Barcelona and that affects his value significantly as well. Come to think of it 35m isn't a bad deal after all. The reversed situation would only be valid if Fabregas were to consider no place else but Arsenal.

We would no doubt have gotten 50 - 60 million for Cesc had Cesc kept his options opened triggering a bidding war. On the surface it appears that we have the power with 5 years more left on his contract but on hindsight it was actually Barcelona who was given the initiative by none other than Cesc himself as he wants to leave and considers no other club than Barca.

35m is decent business if you take the whole situation into perspective. Even if lets say if Real or City comes in with a 100m bid it will still be useless. We can accept the offer but Cesc himself could still refuse to enter negotiations.

Finally this stupid, tiring transfer saga had come to an end. Hopefully we will reinvest in some players. Fab, thanks for the service, but never a legend. The next is for Nasri to go as well... and Arsene, NEVER GET A PLAYER FROM BARCELONA AGAIN, later we helped them 'training' and they come with 'DNA' thingy lagi laugh.gif

Now that Fab had gone , don't really mind Nasri going as well . We need committed players .

BUY GOURCUFF!!!

Have you ever actually seen Gourcuff play ?

I see a lot of these names like Hazard and Gourcuff being thrown around but I bet most have not see any of those players more than 3 times.

I'd rather much see the likes of Scott Parker at Arsenal than those over-hyped FM players i.e. Hazard, Gourcuff, Jadson, e.t.c

Starting 11
Wilshere - De Rossi - Arturo Vidal/M'Vila

Playing too much FM .

Anyway , the special quality that Wenger announced last week was Ox rolleyes.gif , and he sit on the bench , because he ain't the special quality that will drives our starting 11 . Cool .

Losing 25M? Descent? You serious? Yea Cesc would only bent for Barca.. but telling his Spanish lovers and media "the only club i will go next is Barca ONLY" really dont help... Like you said, it only blocked out healthy competitive bidders. Cesc should have kept his mouth shut, and let the club that groom him, which is arsenal, have the upper hand in nego. If not, then just play till your contract finish.. and before dont commit for long term if you really dont plan to stay long. Whatever it is, openly stating your preference of your future club can only be deemed as you trying to engineer a move away. Enough said.

The fee has been confirmed by Sandro Rossell as being €29m upfront with a possible further €10m in add-ons. That’s an absolute maximum of £34.2m. http://gunnerblog.com/
and if this is true, it will be even more of a joke. the 10m add ons even depend on cesc's performance next season. Nvm bout the few Ms, really, just rot on the bench.
