Hi, one more question..since there is an imitation for JP cue, will there be any imitation for other brand as well? I'm afraid that i might be getting an imitation while paying for the original price.

Is Mega Cue in Gurney Plaza and Ace Snooker Centre in Sg.Pinang selling cues? If yes, what brand do they sell?

Is it that Omin and CM1 is the most common and most preferred cue(usually used by snooker player with personal cue) in Malaysia?
*
i reckon you can say that since O'min and CM1 is easily available here... CM1 cues are actually also made in Thailand but branded here by Comet, which is actually an old snooker/pool supplier based in Taman Melawati...

By all means go for O'min or if you can wait, wait for cues being brought in by JH from O'min directly from Thailand...

hey mirin, no problem man..glad you enjoyed going to arena...

Hmm..they look real to me... even have a gold emblem at the butt... Imitation or not, I like it! It looks and feels high quality too..
*
good..at least you found a cue to your liking...doesn't matter if its fake or real...so as long as you can play consistently on it, you use broom stick also ppl respect...

but then again, its people like us who uses the original JPs that feel abit shortchanged when people tell us how a JP "feels"...not many in Malaysia uses JP and when people usually relate that's because they used a fake JP...and JP's emblem are usually black writings on ivory and not gold...

Asimo, not too sure of MegaCue in Gurney plaza. But Kedah road O'mins are original. Lots of players from Penang get their O'mins there. Ace do provide cues as well. O'mins are actually quite commonly available here and less imitations are found. CM1 cues are made in the same factory as the O'mins as well. You will see some Omin cues with a cm1 branding logo as well. These are brought in by CM1.

If you're worried about imitation cues sold in snooker parlors, try to stay away from European brands ie. JP,Peradon,Deroo(canada), trevor white. The ori cues, like jceh83 mentioned are not cheap. Anything below 500 for these cues brand new are fake. That's my tip to you

............... classic,professional,perfect,climax,imagine,union.

These are the production series. the ............ denotes the lower series that I'm unsure of in terms of pricing.

Classic from 550 up, perfect 700++, climax 800 - 900++, imagine i guess roughly 1 k, and the Union about 1100 - 1200. At least thats what I paid for. Maybe cheaper or more expensive elsewhere. Peeps in KL, best to ask JH at Arena.

Asimo, its still in production. Just that i not sure how to arrange it. still have series like champion, millenium. Those that I am unsure how to place them, i just put .......... don't want to confuse other forummers. But both champion and millenium is between the price gap of 200++ to 300 like that.

Hey, do you guys know the background of the game lucky? I've searched through wikipedia and google but I could not find a website regarding this game.
Is this game something like bak kut teh where it was originated from our back yard or like what scientology preaches that one fine day an alien decides to descend from sky to convincde the people that a way to earn more will be playing lucky.
Previously I've seen a lot of one sen lying around snooker tables, what are those for anyway?

Yeah...I believe personal feel towards the cue is more important than what brand we use... I do think there are some imitation or no name brands out there that are pretty well made and worth buying...maybe we can share our experiences with these cap ayam brands here also...wink.gif

Well, IMO lucky is played mostly for gambling purposes... and I really hate those guys that hog the tables for hours and hours gambling each other's pants off... shakehead.gif

JH Leong, today I went to your place for a few games of snooker, I am really impress with the professionalism your place offers. Your staff are not only friendly but helpful as well, they gave me some tips and advices which I really appreciates.

I find it an enjoyable place to train yourself there as there are less noise and 50% off for solo player. Will definitely visit that place again soon.

I went to Mega Cue on Friday. They do sell snooker cue. I saw an O'mins (if not mistaken is Millenium) with a price tag of RM290.00. Besides there is also other brands there such as Royal. I didnt really ask the workers there as i do not bring enough money that time. Do you think the price is good or overpriced? Got someone recommend me to go to Cheng Lee (shop near Passion Macalister Rd) as their price might be slightly lower but they drawback is u dun get a snooker table to test the cue.

hi asimo, jh here . o millenum cost 280 without ext. but comes with the mini butt hole . for additional 5" mini butt cost 40 . ok ?

now wood price also went up d ... so all the cue prices will also go up a little .. if u r really intersted in getting a omin cue .. come to my place and i can let u test the cues 1st . ok ?

over my place u can test and try the cues before u purchase .. if u don find one u like .. i can custom make one for u ..ok ? no worries and don be shy ..

my advise to everyone out there is to get a cue u really like one .. don rush to buy one if u don like ok ? slow slow test out the cue 1st .. coz end of the day no matter what cue u r changing / using , u still need time to get use to the cue . need time to read the charactor of the cue itself ...

regards
jh leong

Asimo, no joke. Don't get anything from Megacue. Lol. Sure the place is nice, but u notice anyone playing there? And I can give you 100% guarantee that Megacue is selling fakes. Millenium there 290, climax also 290 lol. Like I said, you're looking for O'min, Ace Snooker is a safe bet. A very professional snooker centre.

No idea where Cheng Lee is though? Passion? What is Cheng Lee's business? Cue business?
