Guys, any penang snooker kaki here? I'm looking to purchase a personal cue. But have no idea where to get. Vision in Sg Dua sell all imitation cues. John Parris and Omins at 90 - 100 ringgit. WTF

Any shop that sells original cues at reasonable prices in penang? Coz cuestation is damn cut throat.

Guys, I need help. I'll be heading to Bangkok most probably in July. Would really love to get hold of the address of O'min's factory so I can pay a visit to get a cue custom made to my specs. Finally had a chance to test out Imagine cue, and it wasn't really suited to me.

I've tried everywhere to get the address of the factory but have found no luck. If any of u have any details and tell me if its possible to visit the factory straight up, it would be of great help.

Sorry, but for sure those JP house cues are imitation. Why? First of all, JP doesn't make house cues. Their cheapest machine made 1 piece training cues are priced at 60 pounds. Thats almost 400 ringgit. You think a snooker parlor provides house cues priced like that? Haha.

FYI, plenty of imitation JP in Penang. Asimo, if you're interested, you can purchase them at Vision snooker, taman pekaka penang. 3/4 joint, looks decent and all priced below 200 ringgit.

Added on July 9, 2008, 5:19 pmBtw, ori John Parris the nearest you can purchase them is over the crossway ( singapore ). Cheapest 3/4 joint also 1K and above. Nothing to be surprised about, because JP has never been affordable. Ha Ha.

jceh83, as far as i remember, an e-mail to JP bout 6 months back, clearly told me that they are no authorised distributor of JP in Malaysia. I reckon the centre in 1U are merely resellers ( purchase to be sold to a third party) which JP has no idea about. It's very difficult to verify that they are authorised distributors as JP themselves don't clearly state who their distributors are at the first place.

I do admit however that I was never aware JP cues could be readily purchased here, as the maker have said there were no retailers or distributors here. Maybe I have not been keeping myself updated on this matter. Sorry for the mix up if I'm wrong doh.gif

Asimo, no comment about the imitations. My guess is that it's made of inferior wood mostly, have lousy ferrule fitting and the pop joint is not exactly aligned well. Took a look at the joint and it put me off. If you're not crazy about brands. Get a CityBoy personal cue. Less than 300 and is more than a decent beginners cue. Or O'min Millenium.

My old cue was an O'min classic but warped after 2 years of steady service. Waiting for my new O'min Union to arrive in about 3 weeks time from the factory itself.

Asimo, if you want to look for the Cityboy or O'min Millenium, you can head to Kedah Road snooker centre. Hope this helps.

JP uses white discs with black writings for their brand marking. Not aware of gold though.

jceh83, agreed. The ori CityBoy feels more solid and nicer to cue with. The CM1 manufactured version seems to behave differently.

Asimo, 200 is a little low for a new personal cue. Around 300 sounds more reasonable. Like I said, there's Cityboy and O'min Millenium to choose from.

Asimo, not too sure of MegaCue in Gurney plaza. But Kedah road O'mins are original. Lots of players from Penang get their O'mins there. Ace do provide cues as well. O'mins are actually quite commonly available here and less imitations are found. CM1 cues are made in the same factory as the O'mins as well. You will see some Omin cues with a cm1 branding logo as well. These are brought in by CM1.

If you're worried about imitation cues sold in snooker parlors, try to stay away from European brands ie. JP,Peradon,Deroo(canada), trevor white. The ori cues, like jceh83 mentioned are not cheap. Anything below 500 for these cues brand new are fake. That's my tip to you

............... classic,professional,perfect,climax,imagine,union.

These are the production series. the ............ denotes the lower series that I'm unsure of in terms of pricing.

Classic from 550 up, perfect 700++, climax 800 - 900++, imagine i guess roughly 1 k, and the Union about 1100 - 1200. At least thats what I paid for. Maybe cheaper or more expensive elsewhere. Peeps in KL, best to ask JH at Arena.

er...I remember that day u told me about Omin Millenium..so where does it located? the lowest? or already stop production?
*
Asimo, its still in production. Just that i not sure how to arrange it. still have series like champion, millenium. Those that I am unsure how to place them, i just put .......... don't want to confuse other forummers. But both champion and millenium is between the price gap of 200++ to 300 like that.

Asimo, no joke. Don't get anything from Megacue. Lol. Sure the place is nice, but u notice anyone playing there? And I can give you 100% guarantee that Megacue is selling fakes. Millenium there 290, climax also 290 lol. Like I said, you're looking for O'min, Ace Snooker is a safe bet. A very professional snooker centre.

No idea where Cheng Lee is though? Passion? What is Cheng Lee's business? Cue business?
