2 things.

1. What is the improvement of ICS compared to the previous Android OS?
2. Is it confirmed Galaxy W is not getting ICS?
*
to simplify

ICS (4.0) = Windows 8
Gingerbread (2.3) = Windows 7
Froyo (2.2) = Windows Vista
Eclair (2.1) = Windows XP
Donuts and earlier = Windows 95/98/ME etc...

Cos Im thinking of getting a used SGS.

SGS on Froyo = turtle... my colleague use it now... my htc desire (rooted) faster than her 1... 200%

if the SGS need you pay more than 600... forget about it... top up and get new phone with GGB or above.

Root = unlock true capability of your phone... but its up to you...

some phone people even help them root.. coz they can sell same phone but faster speed,, better battery, nice UI etc...

Erm was refering to things like battery life, processing speed etc.

I check some blogs, but most are complicated. Would be nice if there is a simple table that compare GB vs ICS

Ah. Then not getting ICS is justifiable. Already got 2.2 and 2.3 from 2.1.

QUOTE(yuhhaur @ Dec 23 2011, 10:25 AM)
2010 xperia x10 gets 1.6 -> 2.1 -> 2.2 Froyo
2011 xperia lines gets 2.2 Froyo -> 2.3 GB -> 4.0 ICS (due April 2012)  whistling.gif

Now you can see the difference between a Japanese & Korean companies

X10 was SE's Android guinea pig. Released with 1.6 when everybody had 2.1. Upgraded to 2.1 when everybody went to 2.2. Finally relented to the raging masses and gave 2.3 when previously officially announced 2.1 would be the last. Now trying hard to win back customers' hearts by providing up-to-date OSes.

Despite mixing up the chronology, i think it would be much more accurate if it were backwards.

I would recommend you get the Nexus S since the ICS update is already available OTA.

lagfix + gps fix was already present on the Gingerbread update. You must be at least half a year out of date.

Durable eh, Xperia Active, Defy+/Defy but I would recommend something more practical like a better casing(aluminium ones) and the sort so you can get a more decent phone.

Besides, despite having those features, you're probably still gonna get a casing and an SP so what's the point.

If there is no budget limit I suggest you try looking for any non-g S2's, or a Moto Razr.
