I bought my Samsung S Plus last week instead of Incredible S that the sifus recommended coz of video call. Coz it seems that Incredible S doesnt have video call function unless Skype or something similar is installed into it. Whereas Samsung can go without those. So far there is nothing wrong with the phone. The cam is decent for a 5mp phone. However, it does not have flash. I've tested it out by taking pictures of food inside a cafe its decent as well. As for GPS, the seller helped me installed PAPAGO into it. So far so good however it tends to take quite a long time to detect GPS signal (my phone is not rooted coz its still under warranty  tongue.gif ).  I have to stand near a window for like 5minutes or so until i can fully utilize PAPAGO. The touch screen sensitivity is great (i played TapSonic) and the SAMOLED screen is great too  rclxms.gif . I bought the S Plus for RM1250 original at LowYat and Incredible S cost RM16xx original. And if you are the ones that love to trade in old phones and buy new phones, HTC doesnt have much resell value compare to Samsung (thats what all the seller told me).
*
Its a SCLCD. Not an S-AMOLED.

HTC's resale value is quite high in GS though. Used Nexus One's still go for around 8xx these days.

suck? it's all good to me since the 1st day i got it. S-AMOLED.. well my buddy is using SGS2 but don't think there is anything to shout about it. Ok la nice view but not much impact functionality.

Please take note, im not someone who would watch a video on the phone cause i rather do it on my TV. tongue.gif Anyway planning to sell my ACE d. gotten myself Xperia Mini Pro. For the keyboard yo. haha

Added on September 26, 2011, 10:39 am

800 bucks big screen phone, that's your only choice.
*
I beg to differ. THe S-AMOLED+ screen is absolutely stunning when used on full brightness. Coupled with the true blacks, my older HTC Incredible S looked incredibly dull.

But, of course, if you can get over the frequent over-saturation of colour.

Battery life wise, I don't have to worry since its currently tethered to my desktop so its basically charging 24/7 now laugh.gif

Hmm.. i tested it in my room actually  tongue.gif . There isnt any tall buildings around. I used GPS Test app first b4 opening PAPAGO. My first time using GPS so im quite noobish.
S Plus is SAMOLED screen. Its written behind the box as well  nod.gif . Its specs:

IS is SLCD. Specs:

Agree with you  tongue.gif . My brother just bought his SGS 2 for RM1899. And its like no different from my S Plus. The only difference is that it has 8mp with flash cam, a dual core processor and a 4.3" screen.  hmm.gif  Mayb im simple-minded . Too complicated and high tech stuff cannot enter brain  whistling.gif .
*
Mistook with SL.

Aren't those differences?

Besides, it doesn't matter to end users since we pretty much won't utilize the phone to its full potential.

The dual core processor residing in the phone is just an assurance that your phone won't be obsolete for at least another year or two.

And the SGS2 uses S-AMOLED+ not S-AMOLED

QUOTE(danielcmugen @ Sep 27 2011, 12:37 AM)
I have no complaints at all bout display quality. It's just that it gets laggy at times(like now sad.gif ) on froyo...but ppl say it becomes smooth/less laggy when on oficial gingerbread, I dono la

Hey guys,

what do you think is the best between the samsung galaxy s2 and the htc evo 3d ?

im really fascitated with 3d from the evo but I scared there would be alot of bugs, and I also heard that htc doesn't deliver the best audio.

and I also see that users are more using samsung galaxy s2 then the htc evo 3d ? is the htc evo 3d that bad ?

Audio wise, the sound chip in the S2 is terrible.

Doesn't matter if you're not an audiophile though. It's still feasible.

Good day. My 1st Andriod phone is Sony Xperia X10.
Big screen, nice phone. And really didn't go to explorer what is Andriod. Cause I got an Iphone as well.

2nd Andriod is Samsung Galaxy Ace 5380. Light, nice camera, high spec compare to X10. But only use it for few months.

3rd Andriod is Xpeira Arc. This Arc is nice to hold, slim, and smooth. compare to the previous 2 Andriod phone, this is the best I ever had.

Recently change to Galaxy SII. And this time I really go search the forum, XDA, Lowyat regarding how to root, flash ROM and etc. This SII really fast, no lag at all.

SGS2 has 1gb ram, Sensation/XE has 768mb IINM.

If budget is not an issue, of course the XE is recommended.

But bear in mind the Beats headset is just mainly for trend and style. Most other cans/iems perform much better at that price. If you're planning to get a phone to be used for portable audiophiling I recommend you sell off the Beats headset that comes with the phone and get another pair of cans.

If you would like to know more you can hop on to the Audiophile section or PM me(I'm a noob though laugh.gif)
