QUOTE(zweimmk @ Oct 4 2012, 08:07 AM)
You're right about that. With that spec and price, it will surely sell. Aside from the badge, it's also 16k difference which translate to about RM250 less per month to pay in installments.
Lucky (or unlucky) government protect P1&P2 coz if the price is in the 50k range, LOL!
*
maybe the lowest spec Vios D (deathtrap) selling at 69k is already too close for comfort for P1 & P2 if that happens.

QUOTE(terdit @ Oct 4 2012, 09:11 AM)
TDCI?  unsure.gif
The previous gen focus?
*
newest gen dun have.

QUOTE(gahpadu @ Oct 4 2012, 09:44 AM)
less SC , after sale n space part is main obstacles.
*
this is true.
since SD has so many brands they should join forces on the SC part.
don't need to stock up every spare part at least enough for usual maintainence enough.

QUOTE(dares @ Oct 4 2012, 10:01 AM)
You are right, SDAC has to invest in this aspect but there are no enough Fords sold to justify it I guess. Kinda like a chicken and egg dilemma.

On the other hand, I know some ppl buy toyota just for the brand. I tell my friends the Vios J has worse spec than a Saga, they look at me like I am mad. I am sure some reading this post is thinking the same thing.
*
c'mon vios still using a crappy 90's 4AT while saga can offer the latest CVT gearbox.
granted its not the best like dual-clutch but in mitsu range dual-clutch only reserved for evo so CVT is considered a big upgrade, if mitsu was evil they could just have given proton the invecs 1 or 2 gearbox.

QUOTE(swine @ Oct 4 2012, 12:28 PM)
pls dun be too optimistic on the Ecoboost thing on the fiesta..
the fact is the cost for ecoboost is high..even over in UK the 1.0 Ecoboost focus is priced much higher than the 1.6 N/A version..
so do bear in mind that if the fiesta FL came in with 1.0 it wont be just slot it as direct replacement for the current 1.6 N/A version without any price adjustment..expect a 10k increase at least..and tat would definitely hampered fiesta sales brows.gif

2 cents
*
true then it will become an anomaly like the rotary engine.
good performance, small cc, cheap roadtax, cars ain't that much cheaper.

3 years works to around 6 maintenance intervals.
coz each interval is around 10k kms.
10k kms is roughly around 6 months.

korean and japanese car your service interval is every 5k kms.
5k kms is roughly around 3 months.

usual service for any car at authorize service center is 100-200 for normal service.

Fair point, but to be real honest I'm not going to get the sedan. laugh.gif
You and I know why smile.gif
Noted. Anybody know how much it costs for the Fiesta to do maintenance after the 3 years free maintenance?
*
someone stated 300-400, which i think its quite okay.
japanese car every 5k service 100-200
conti car every 10k service 300-400
its about the same but you go to the center less nod.gif

OFF TOPIC

my current Honda City also encounter such issue of jerking when slow down. And when stop at traffic light, it keeps jerking if I on D.

Looking at this, could it be brake problem? Sorry for off topic because so far nobody can answer me.

i been very deeply addicted to TDCi. test drive ald.. the torque just like monster.. wandering few question.. performance wise.. any car come close within the price range?
what is the car next beating TDCi torque? and the orice?
same question to new ford focus ST.
anyone?
*
nothing comes close to it at new 128k.
second hand is a different case because some people are willing to trade off car age for cheaper price or get a different look.

QUOTE(gahpadu @ Oct 5 2012, 10:56 PM)
Polo Tsi and  308T might par with TDCI performance but definately can not beat its torque

C230k? yes but it already 5/6 years old compare to used TDCi at 90k ( 2 yrs old) .U can hav fun with turbocharged petrol but turbocharged make u smile and save ur wallet
*
unless its a pug monster like THIS! Pug 408T 2009 with 243hp, 340NM and NOS if you need more pow wah sweat.gif

get the stock tdci, knn filter, remove the cat and spend about 2ish K to remap it via dktuning - you can easily get 180hp with 410nm torque...on WHEEL !
no car in that price range nor in the sub 170k range can give you that power tongue.gif.

Still thinking hard to let the benefits of fuel consumption ( 7l/100km at 180KMh) for the ST.

with all these aes etc, i am reluctant but who knows.
*
now i trying to slowly persuade gf to like the shape and interior.
bloody hell sa still kenot get me a test drive.
i want her to sit inside to feel the gforce.
today test drove subaru legacy 2.5 twin turbo...wow....260hp....370nm.....when i tarik she quickly pulled the rear seatbelt......not much chance to tarik since many cars but short sprint around 2-3 trailer length it can reach 140kmh....wow.....now she says golf gti lembik sweat.gif

finally able to test the TDCI today at ford pj.

when i first look at the rev counter i was like.....what! 4k rpm only?
1k to 2k rpm length is like the same for my current car from 1k to 3k rpm.
wasn't impressed, then started the engine, sound like a lorry.
after that initial sound didn't hear anything when rolling out from the showroom.
cruise abit then floor it, its eager to move, felt like a normal 2.0 until after 2k rpm.
it just started to brutally push me into the seat.
went around the block for a short sprint test.
anytime over 2k rpm it will pull like a supercharger.
even at higher speeds felt endless but the road is endless.
just need to blip and keep it over 2k for happy times all day long drool.gif
slightly different driving style needed from a petrol car but nice
after the test drive i was like....

U drive diesel dun drive like petrol, when reach end of rev range the diesel will run out of breath.. for my tdci i always keep between 2-3k rpm, that's where the optimum amount of torque is available  brows.gif
*
so just keep blipping to keep it within 2-3k? hmm.gif brows.gif
