that is true....malaysians do care a lot about space that is why jap cars dominate in this segment...jap cars do not rely on high specs or great techy features....they rely on space and comfort to challenge the europeans and koreans in this segment...very evident in B segment sales with vios dominating....downside is that MOST jap cars drive like boats....vios for example...dead steering...no feel at all....very boring car to drive 

I'm not trying to prove that the focus have a great interior space. as you can see from my first post, i did say that if you really care about those seating at the back, the focus is not the car for you.

and i'm not trying to justify the focus is a comparable car against its c-segment rivals in terms of interior space because i've said that you will feel claustrophobic when compared to its rivals.

so in conclusion, i do agree that the focus interior space is not up to the standards set by the class leaders. what i'm trying to prove from my post is to convince people that the interior is not that bad. some people keep on perceiving the interior of the focus as really inferior as if you are seating in a kancil. that's what i'm trying to debuff.

malaysian puts interior space as the first priority when purchasing a car. that's why you see a lot of myvis on the road. not only its cheap, but it's spacious as hell (or heaven. whatever you want to put it). hence by perceiving the interior of a focus is like a kancil will hamper its image (malaysians will disregard the car as incompetent due to interior space alone) which to me is really really unfair because the focus is a really great car.

and yes, definitely having lag on R/1/2 gears for the ford's DCT. my year 1999 iswara auto responds much better on the transmission, which is a tad bit disappointing for a year 2012 car.

It seems that even Honda City stock sound system is better than FoFo . . FoFo sound seems like lack of bass and the sound is mushy when u max its bass . . but FoFo has one cool feature . . the volume increase when u accelerate to 80 kmph

im still on the fence with the lack of paddle shifters/DCT lag/sony HU LOL!
(and still waiting for the sentra to finish loan haha)

and thats why im not buying now haha.

well when everything's good to go, i'll definitely test drive all the cars i am eyeing on. and hopefully ford focus will have eco boost or TDCI to give the competition a run for its money

Ecoboost version will surely jump the price to 135k at least with the way they price the + version. If it hits 140k then it's a question of why not the K5 instead? As much as I hate to admit it, at that price bracket, there is no other competitor that can come close matching spec for spec.

Based on your budget though, you don't really have much else to go on. Anything above 130k is out and it's unlikely car prices will drop in the short term future.

This thing is better than the autopark feature or sunroof or auto stop combined. Ford Malaysia take note.

yeah you're pretty much spot on in that regards. maybe if i can get some pay raise just to be able to afford the 130-140k price range, that would be nice.

to be frank, while k5 has the specs, im personally not very confident with their engines in terms of max speeds, 0-100, torque and what not.ford seems to have a better edge on that at least (despite somewhat losing on the specs even with their new full spec focus )

granted, the idea of a c segment losing out to a d segment while being at the same price, is probably the breaking point for most people on the "why not k5 instead" fence

how to difference between max power and max torque from specification?

New Focus:
Max power ps/rpm - 170/6500
max torque nm/rpm - 202/4550

TDCi:
Max power ps/rpm - 134/4000
Max torque nm/rpm - 320/2000

i did some research, learn that power=torque*rpm/5252

and i learn that torque is needed for pulling strength
power is the "thing" generated by torque at the specific rpm.

so heres come the problem.. confuse lea.. means power more important? coz torque wanted to generate power.. final thing we need is power?

but i see tru forum all says torque more keng since TDCi has better perfomance?

TDCi is a torque monster.. SA told me to floor the pedal, which I did. Boy, it was a crazy car. I ended up buying a fiesta due to my small budget.. 

if your manual mode is referring to the S mode, then mine is able to do all 6 gears..

one more thing about paddle shifters, somehow i like it the FoFo way now instead of sticking on to the steering.
you can turn your steering with your right hand and still shift gears, up or down with only your left thumb.
so i can't figure why people doesn't like it this way, probably personal preference anyway...
the usual steering paddle shift, i cant do a gear change if i have the steering upside down.. u get what i mean?

Nah. I too quite like the Jetta actually. If it had come with a larger interior and a tad lower pricing, i might have gone for that. But i didnt feel that a RM 156K (OTR) price tag is justification even with the TSI and 7 speed gb.

there are big different when opening and closing the sunroof. which means with the sunroof closed, the NVH is good.
btw i think u should choose the plus or non-plus from other view instead of the sunroof.
for example :
- do you think BLIS is a good features and would like to have it on your car ( if u are taking sedan )
- is Auto park, active city stop, HID, cruise control, auto dimm rear view mirror... do you need those?
- front parking sensor, which i feel is nice to have. but not sure do u feel that too
- curtain airbag

when to SC to collect my car yesterday.But really pissed off with how they handle the process.On Friday last week, the officer rang me and told me that my should be ready by Monday, so I took day off on tuesday and when to SC without bother to call them first.

Unfortunetly , my car still not ready, still waiting for wire hardness.WTF    wasting my time .
btw , I had a chance to go inside the workshop and saw one new focus stranded  ,with front seat and the dashboard been taken off. Havent a chance to ask why

Hence why i think the loudness of the engine should be properly measured and not be confused with good NVH. Either way, engine refinement is only 1 criteria amongst others. I would think safety should be paramount for everybody in choosing their rides not resale value or cost of periodic maintenance. 

my car problem free xcept the lousy SC/person  that handle my accident case.

wire hardness for headlight was burned due to accident but SC just cut and joint those wire due to wrong part. 

luckly adjuster found n need to order the whole wiring that cost amost 5K.so re submit the claim n took long time to receive.

i can understand on maintenance cost (eg: comparing VW maintenance against proton)
however resale, i dunno, personally i am buying a car to drive, not to sell :/

i ask jln ipoh Auto Connexion SA regarding this, his answer is kind of : Sport tuning will drag longer only change gear, that's y will more powerful.

honestly, i dont feel Auto Connexion will bring in fiesta with ecoboost, at least wont so soon.
1. Current fiesta seems bring in quite a good sales figure for ford, if they bring in ecoboost now, then will spoil their current fiesta market.
2. Current 1.6 fiesta is with price around 90k. if they bring in ecoboost fiesta, how much will they sell?

But 1.0 shd get less tax, eventually shd cost less than the current lower spec at rm115K. What impressive is the 170 N·m  from 1,300–4,500 rpm and 200 N·m on overboost gonna make driving addictive! Not forgetting the 1.0 could be as frugal as K-car.
So let wait for 1.0 ecoboost.

if our fiesta got ecoboost, sure UMW and Honda will bungkus because no one would buy vios/city/jazz/crz anymore.

This is where you are wrong. The ST is tuned everything. The general focus ecoboost comes in 1.6 L Ecoboost. I

Mondeo/ST uses the 2 liter ecoboost only diff is ST is tuned slightly higher and a manual. Mondeo pushes out 240PS whilst the ST 250 PS.
