Actually when I play HoN, I alt tab, I'm experiencing the AMD driver stop working thing as well.
My CCC version 11.6.
Any idea how to fix it ?
I think sometimes other games happens as well.
Not occasionally though, its just random.

My dv6-6001tx is fine on temp. Using evercool cooler,air suction type. max temp on crysis2 (advanced)was 78-82 average 70-74. graphic card temp was 68-75.

i seldom play HoN but so far alt+tab in HoN is no problem for me.
i don't have any idea how to fix these driver not responding thingy. can u uninstall the radeon driver completely then use driver sweeper to delete the remaining catalyst file and reinstall with latest HP driver and then with update to Catalyst 11.5b

Did you set your CoolSense to Cool? 2720QM is suppose to be running hotter than 2630QM on idle. The warm feeling on the top left is because it where the hot air is being vent out. Based on the location of HDD, it actually very near the processor location, plus it a 12.7mm thick hence 6108TX HDD temp is usually slightly higher than it brethren.

Hey guys, Just got my 1st laptop in my life - dv6-6001tx. Bought at JB, PC shop.
RM2999, comes with bag and mouse, upgraded to 8gb ram, 3years hp care pack.

Wonder what the 1st step to do optimazation in this laptop. I mean what driver hv to update?what s/w hv to install? and so on. thks

I thought idle should be the same, only on load its higher..
Since both should be running @800MHz at idle..

here is the way to solve the problem of WLM not allowing us to change graphics, works like a jiffy
add both intel and ati cards as two separate keys to the registry so u can switch from both cards.

Either my background program (I didn't uninstall any program) causes slightly higher idle temp or the original thermal paste were not applied correctly. My idle temp did drop a few degree after new thermal application.

Works for me.

1. I uninstalled my driver from Device Manager (AMD only).

2. Downloaded and installed AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver from HP's website. (After installing, the display turned off and I had to force shut-down, to date I've did about 5 force shut-downs... in 2 months!)

3. Installed CCC 11.7 (not 11.5b ) from link on first post.
