CWM , do i need to root 1st in order to install it?
QUOTE How to Flash the zip through recovery? 1. Put the recovery zip on the sdcard. you can do it via PC 2. Keep Power+Home button till you get the blue colored default recovery. 3. Select install update from sdcard. 4. Select the zip. 5. Reboot. 6. Shtudown. 7. Repeat step 2 and you will see CWM instead of default recovery. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...1168417&page=20 Just follow the instructions? Need root 1st? one question guys , hy hp is rooted to push the apps to sd card and thats the only thing i did. no rom or what else.
can it be upgraded to GB via kies ? Added on October 10, 2011, 12:19 pmto be safe i unroot it . and now firmware upgrade seems stuck at preparing upgrade components .. left it for 1 hour and restart kies many times but still the same . should i wait longer ? ok , it stuck maybe because internet comes from the usb modem stick . kies did warn not to attach anything to the usb before upgrading. after change from usb modem to wireless , it begins upgrading at the first try lol This post has been edited by watever77: Oct 10 2011, 09:28 PM |

QUOTE(kenny13 @ Oct 10 2011, 04:27 PM) yes, out d.Just updated it, it took me 3 tries. Better gaming performance than froyo! but 1 thing, gingerbread eat more RAM than froyo and browsing on homescreen lags sometimes Added on October 10, 2011, 5:42 pmjust discovered 1 more thing, my free internal memory space is the same where i left it at froyo.....not more as said by other forummers. or must i do anything to gain more space? Guys with CM7,
Which version of CWM did you use before flashing CM7, I mean from stock recovery. CWM4 or CWM5? |

Follow the CM7 guide on first post of respective rom webpage. Usually is CWM4 still, for now.
