Need help. I cannot root my phone.
I followed this instructions: D. Rooting for 2.3.3/2.3.4/2.3.5 (Thanks to russian forum-user with nickname may213): 1) Download attached file called upd_1.zip and copy it to your sdcard 2) Turn off your phone 3) Press POWER+HOME BUTTON 4) Select update from sdcard, select the file upd_1.zip 5) After the update completed - reboot 6) Now you have rooted S5830
But when I install update, it says "Error in /sdcard/upd_1.zip (Status 7)". Then installation aborted..
What did i go wrong?

QUOTE(game4life @ Oct 14 2011, 03:28 PM) Hi.. I didnt try that. But this post works. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...71&postcount=40Right now, Im ready to flash my rom to CM7kang. I got few questions before proceeding on.. 1. I already flashed CWM4 via sd card. Right now I wanna backup everything including my stock ROM. I already used the backup function in CWM4. Is it sufficient? What about my apps? 2. I installed Titanium Backup and ROM Manager. Both backup different things? Like Titanium = APPS, ROM manager = ROM. 3. I tried to backup my rom via ROM manager, it requires me to install CWM but i laready have CWM4. Will it corrupt if i install another CWM =\

That's great! So, after flashing to CM7, how do i restore my apps, contacts etc except my stock ROM? If im not wrong, CWM only have 1-click restore all which includes stock ROM?

I just flashed to CM7. Looks nice. But where can I find my titanium backup? Android market is not even there! OMG. Another thing that annoys me. The return button always send me back to the home screen. Every time when I check some stuff and just wanna back to the application menu, click Return button, it straight away send me back to the home screen. Any way to set this? QUOTE(n8210 @ Oct 17 2011, 08:52 AM) Some people will feel like going back to stock rom after using CM7 for a while. It has a lot of advantages, and yet it comes with some stuff missing, which we hope to have too. Yea i know right ^^. Although CM7 is so much faster.. and you can set almost everything you want but the missing parts is a killer. QUOTE(game4life @ Oct 17 2011, 10:39 AM) are you using kang or behradGH cm7. kang version doesn't have the market problem. regarding the return button, adw launcher doesn't allow app drawer to run background. you can try to use other launcher such as nemus launcher. Im sure it's kang. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263292 Will try other launcher. But right now need to find the missing Market. lol..

QUOTE(game4life @ Oct 17 2011, 01:33 PM) Thanks. But something weird happened. When I connect to WIFI, the market suddenly appeared! Then logged in as usual and auto-updated to 3.1.5. Wasted my time to download SDK thing. Any good task killer/manager to recommend? Noticed there's no task manager. QUOTE(ninehneh @ Oct 17 2011, 02:58 PM) give Go Launcher EX a try. it's free, easy to use and quite customizable. No lags too. Thanks for the suggestion. Will try with Go SMS too.

QUOTE(izzoe @ Oct 18 2011, 12:34 PM) U sure u didnt lock the screen? most launcher got that function so u wont accidentally move widgets.. QUOTE(ninehneh @ Oct 18 2011, 01:33 PM) i think the phone has a built in one? Press the HOME button for more than 2 seconds and the task killer will appear. Otherwise, Go Launcher EX also has one built in although it can only close all running tasks >.< QUOTE(ninehneh @ Oct 18 2011, 01:35 PM) if ur using Go Launcher, after you tap and hold, a popup should appear for you to move, delete, uninstall the app. No need to drag. Sorry I didnt mention in my post. Am using the CM7 rom with its launcher.. haha
