17. What is root?
Ans : (by stupiak07)
For short. rooting let you gain access administrator right that is locked by the phone company by default. by rooting let you able to modify the system which suppose to be locked to avoid people mess up the system and render it useless.
The most common thing for people to root it is for moving those app/games that can't be moved to memory card by default which.eat up main storage which is phone inner storage. some people wanted to used custom/personnel rom that suite their usage and even some people want to use custom theme for the phone. by right, for those don't know how to use it should avoid it as it will void your phone warrany if you mess up. You no need to root if you are a normal users. You also may unroot back when you want to claim waranty
Add on: even if you moved your application to your memory card doesn't mean will free up all the phone memory as there will be package data left over at phone memory for it to run.
This is what I know about rooting. it may vary from the actual info

COMMON ISSUE OF SGA - SOD (SCREEN OF DEATH) / AUTO SHUT DOWN
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
The cause could be due to the connected WIFI under idle condition for long period with certain cheapo router (such as Aztech), but some SGA users no issue with Dlink provided by UNIFI and others brand... Either to pull out the battery to restart SGA or keep trying to long press power button for several times to restart SGA...
Solutions:
1. Disable WIFI while no in use
2. Recycle cheapo wifi router
3. Settings > Wireless & Newtwork > WIFI settings > Click on menu and go in "Advanced" > Set the WIFI sleep policy to never (Let me know it if SGA never SOD anymore with his method)

bro, lately I found mine too like you. Previuosly, I'm using Aztech ADSL + wifi. So the SOD happen when I put
WIFI ON. Recently, after upgraded to UNIFI, I don't use anymore my Aztech cos use their TM ADSL (Dlink).
Then I try to ON the WIFI overnight and suprisingly, there were no SOD leh...it looks like
Modem cause the SOD. Even I try in my office with WIFI on, no SOD also. Now I'm pretty sure it is Modem problem not claimed like Motherboard or watsover.
Guys, pls check your modem and it could be from Modem cause SOD. I find AZTECH giving problem.
You many test it by swapping to another modem model. Others brands not sure.
Cheers...
