Hey guys I'm using iphone4 now but would like to try android and my wife needs a phone now so this iPhone will go to her so now I'm considering between incredible s and sensation from digi with the 48 dg smart plan for her and I'll use my idigi line but considering the price difference of 300 between this 2 which 1 will b better for a newbie who wans to try android?
I like sense 3.0 ui tho..

Well, if you put those two choices out, then your answer is pretty obvious already.

Go for the sensation, better future proofing compared to incredible S and has much better hardware (CPU & GPU).

Well, no such thing as an android "Newbie" phone. But do not worry, you'll get the hang of it in a week, and when you start to customize and stuff, well, thats self explanatory already.

Its due to using the wrong charger or non-stock charger.
Grounding issue. Happens to me when using BB charger tongue.gif

just use the original charger from the box and if it still persist then there is a small pin at the back of the phone where u can pry it out abit to ensure the contact to the back casing is good..a more detail solution can be found at the famous XDA forum

If you're comfortable with modding your (new) phone and installing custom ROM on it I would suggest you go for the Desire HD instead, exact same specs and about the same price with the incredible S too.

I'm pretty sure they have sense 3.0 UI ports to the Desire HD as well. Being released a year ago means that developers had time to fully optimize and perfected the custom ROMS for it

As was mentioned earlier, do not use other phone chargers or unofficial chargers. One quick fix is to remove the battery, press the power button for 10 seconds or better still, press the power button and then leave it alone for 10 minutes or so for all residual charge to be discharged.

For my phone, I personally never experienced such issues. Only issue with me is the occasional wonky power button, sometimes have to press twice, and sometimes it gives me a double press even if I press it once, although I suspect it's related to my custom ROM and the CRT on-off animation.

I made a short call today and unable to hang up.
The screen is black n no response. Then I press power button few times but no response too. Instead it redial back my previous number.

Had no choice but take out battery for reboot purpose.
Am using latest leedroid Rom n faux kernel.

Anyone experience this yet?

Slightly behind the s2 on performance, but its still inert fast. I chose this over an s2 coz I liked sense and I don't like Samsung's build quality after using a galaxy before. HTC feels solid compared to samsungs, just my personal opinion.

If the HTC is overclocked, can it run on par with Samsung Galaxy S II? And also, how about the Sensation XE biggrin.gif

I don't recommend using other Kernel other than Leedroid's 3.3.0 for the time being, since he modified Faux's 0.1.8 version specifically for Leedroid 3.1 ROM..I haven't experienced any blackscreen problems yet. More than a week already on 3.1 with kernel 3.3

CF-Bench Scores

Just for your information, 1.5Ghz is the ORIGINAL clock speed for the CPU in Sensation and the CPU is exactly the same as the one in Sensation XE.

I don't use 1.78Ghz on a normal basis because I feel that the slightly extra performance gained is not worth the battery drain. At the end of the day, benchmark scores doesn't really dictate anything. I can clock back to 1.18Ghz and the phone still feels very smooth and responsive without any lag, despite showing much lower CF-Bench scores.

Okay. Do you really need internal memory? I heard that some applications can't be installed externally sad.gif

Well, for me at first I also thought that the internal memory is too damn small for a smartphone at that kinda price, but after actually getting it's never been an issue with me since I only install apps that I use. Initially had a lot of games in it, but after a week or so got bored with most of them, uninstalled most of it and only kept some nice ones (paid ones).

If your phone is rooted (not sure really need root or not), most apps can be transferred to SD Card. Additionally, most of the game data is stored in the SD Card, and the actually application itself is very small, mostly around 2-4mb per app, some even smaller. Last but not least, I haven't seem anyone in this thread, V1 and now V2 actually complain that the small internal memory is giving them a hard time in life or daily phone usage, so personally I think that the issue is not as severe as you might think.

Perhaps another option is that you can uninstall system applications that you don't need, that will free up some space as well, but need to be careful and not delete something vital for the phone to operate normally. I'm not confident on that part so I mostly left whatever system applications that come bundled with ROMs alone.

Long story short, no, you don't really need internal memory.

I think sense restart/force close is way better than a black scree and a battery pull.

What about stock kernel?, have you tried that?
