Once s-off then you can have root access and flash custom rom. Think twice if you want to s-off officially cos that will void your warranty. If you wants to flash custom rom,you may want to s-off unofficially. At least you can revert to stock Rom for warranty purpose.

If I do the official OTA update, can I do S-Off using revolutionary method?

I'm using the HTC Premium Navigation (You get a voucher code in the box so you can register for free, maps are updated, because I noticed the recently sealed off road near my house WAS registered in the map, although its not as detailed as Garmin/Papago but it does the job pretty well overall getting you to the area. If you're talking very specific like locating side lanes/back alleys etc its not as accurate as other paid GPS Nav systems out there though.

According to the HTC Desire Z (link here) video at their website , they say when using Locations, there's no need to live download the maps since you download the map once and it is saved in the phone. But will the phone still be using data when you use it while walking/driving around and looking at the map/compass thingy?

I'd not used Garmin/Papago before. I presume you'll also download the maps and save into the phone as well? Any data usage AFTER downloading? Cos I'm concerned about data roaming overseas (I wonder how they charge for tat)

i think google map now u can put the map into cache..it will allow u to downlaod it the map around ur destination and save it to ur phone..then u can navigate w/o data.

for HTC location..i think they are actually rebadge of tom tom's GPS..so..it is similar to papago and garmin; where the map is already in ur phone

Yeap you can download the map of the country of your choice, I don't remember the exact options to get to that screen but I'm sure you'll find the download section, you can also download different navigation voice.

Off Topic, finally purchased pro version of Titanium Backup after using the free version for 2 months, man this is an absolute MUST HAVE app for any android device, period...I'm thinking of purchasing PowerAMP Music Player, any comments on this or is there a better music player out there?

Its just named that way so that in HBOOT it will be recognized as an update and be installed automatically. Thats why after install remember to remove it from your SD card.

To update recovery, download and install ROM Manager and use that app to update your CWM, its less hassle and CWM also stores previous versions of recoveries you've used before so that in case any problems occur you can just use it to reflash an older version of recovery.

EDIT:

I remember someone posted about having trouble with his sim locked phone, well fortunately there is a solution to that, free sim unlock for HTC Sensation!

UNLOCK YOUR PHONE!

wat is S-off & S-on u guys talking about ya?

You serious? If you are serious then, usually most phones are locked as in you cannot access the ROM portion of your phone and therefore not being able to tweak some settings. I am guessing your phone is S-on. If you want to get S-off, go here and follow the steps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300

Once you get S-Off, you can flash custom roms that have been tweaked for speed, bloatware removed (useless stuff) and other things done to your sensation to make it more optimal. One example is the Sensation is running on MSM 8660 processor which is a Dual-core processor clocked at 1.2Ghz. The new version of the HTC Sensation featuring Beats headphones will have a Dual core process clocked at 1.5Ghz. These are the same processor but our 1st generation Sensation was underclocked because the battery is a Piece of Shit (1500mAH).

Custom roms have already included settings to enable your sensation to run at 1.5Ghz and some uptil 2.0Ghz(rarely seen), 1.75Ghz (stable, mostly seen).

Signing out...

I actually bought it off Market, yeah its kinda expensive I know but then again its worth every RM as you'll be playing it nonstop afterwards. Not to mention very high replay value. I played that non stop during the Raya holidays and only stopped for hanging out with friends where beer and shisha are involved hahaha. Kinda hard not to play it even at work,have...to...resist....

It's a solid, stable and awesome looking ROM without you having to add anything after flashing.
