I dunno either...i think if 0 means best, you don't waste fuel...20 means your leg naughtly, waste fuel...hahaha...am i right?
*
That is your current FC (L/km) indicator.... when you press the pedal kow kow, the meter will be at 15-20 (L per km), and if you coast, it will read 5-15... finally when you totally dont press the pedal (like when you go downhill) it will read 0...

That is how the car calculates your average L/km... so the lower the meter (closer to 0) means the lesser Litre fuel per km you are using, the better the FC...

Our air cond must put higher...if hot day i will put it until middle point for a few mins then shift back to first notch
*
Somehow the aircond in 1.8 variants not that cold, as compared to 2.0P... strange... mayb thats another reason to get the 2.0...?? For 2.0P, setting it at 23 - 24 degrees oredi very cold...

Oh ya, the aircond vents are not very effective in delivering cold air... if not set correctly, it will blow the cold air directly to the steering, or way over the seats... thus maybe that's y you dont feel that much cold air too...??

2.0P temperature dial (the right one) have temperature in numbers on it... 20 degrees is at 9pm clock position, 25 degrees is at 12pm and 30 degrees is at 3pm position on the temperature dial... and there are some notches between them... so you can calculate the temp set...

Yet another feature 2.0 have over the 1.8....

Well, it's been 3 weeks today since I got my 'Lady in Red' 
So far done only 665km...haven't done any long distance driving. So far so good...no nyek-nyek sounds. Only a slight thump noise when going over a bump too fast. But I noticed when I've got passengers in the car, the suspension is quite noisy when going over rough patches or bumps.
The engine's not the smoothest around but I guess that's the 4B11 trademark 
Proton could've done better in sound proofing the tyre roar. Especially when it rains, the rain drops are really loud and water dispensed by the tyres are pretty loud too. Other than that, I hear some rattle somewhere...can't really point out where but it only happens when driving over bad roads.
Apart from the 1k service, I plan to do 5k and 10k service...just to give the engine a proper run-in and clean-up  thereafter I'll service at every 10k. I'm a low mileage driver...so I guess I'll service based on no. of months.
Nice car overall...just needs a bit of soundproofing.

Mine is usually set 1-2 notches left of 25 (indicating 23-24degrees lo)...

But the setting may not be the same as per 1.8... as setting the dial to the same position in 2.0 will not result as the same coldness.... i have tried it for 1.8, to get same coldness as mine, u need to put the dial all the way to 9pm position (20 degrees in the pic above)...

Try it and feedback....

I dont think its the cooling coil.... i think its more the setting on the switch as the 1.8 and 2.0 is very different...

Keep it at 9pm position as that is your preferred setting, dont put is same as mine or you will get hot air.... brows.gif brows.gif

Anyway I'm surprised to come across this article...

http://star-motoring.com/News/2011/Proton-...iable-cars.aspx

Proton is the 5th most reliable car manufacturer behind Honda, Toyota, Mazda and Nissan. Studies is done by Direct Line Breakdown, a UK company i think.

Feel like today my radio reception very bad, extra a lot of noise and hissing sound liddat even though im in open space....is there something wrong with my car HU or stations got problem? The only station i can receive clear signal is Fly FM. Hitz langsung cannot hear, the intermittent is like Astro during cloudy day.

Btw, you know the radio sometimes will display what is the current slot for the radio channel right? My MIX FM is always breakfast with JD and dilly even though its already at night...

I think that 0--10--20 meter changes depending on how much you open your throttle and how much petrol your ECU decides to inject if I'm not wrong. I've changed my meter to show mileage in KM/L, so for mine it shows 0--10--20--30--40, and it's very obvious that if I keep it hovering between 10-20 by being lighter on my pedal, my FC for that duration will read somewhere between 10-20km/l. If i'm more aggressive, or hit more lights, jams and bumps, naturally I need to depress my pedal more, so it usually drops below 10, and my FC will also drop below 10 on average. From my observation, I think it shows the actual LIVE calculation of fuel usage/efficiency. I guess those numbers are as the readings are being taken. If I coast down a hill without stepping on any pedals, it crosses 40. If I idle, it drops to 0. If I'm going at 30kmh, and floor the pedal, it drops to near 0 too.

finally done my 1st highway trip to kl!! I'm very satisfied with the power of the car.. flex.gif
On the way to KL, i keep speeding, end up FC nt very good... from full tank to less than half tank.. >< bt when coming back to Penang, i keep on cruising at 110 kmph which is super boring.... >< end up, i stil have more than half a tank of petrol when i reach Penang... haha!! ><
no whistling sound coming in after 140 kmph.... however, this car really needs soundproofing for the road noise....><

I notice some rattling sound coming from the front passenger side when going thru uneven road...not sure which part does the sound coming from... bt when i open the drawer, the sound is gone.... i tried removing everyhing from the drawer, still the same.. however, this rattling sound dont always come.. anyone had this problem before?

btw, finally i manage to install the lokatoo gps with papago! but its only papago X5. Anyone have the lokatoo gps on papago X8?

Rattling sound may come from the glovebox, try adding some foam pads or rubber stoppers at the areas where the sides can hit the body.... and also ensure the damper at the left side is securely fixed.... i recalled Snowfish's car didnt come with that.... make sure you have yours...

As for Papago, continue to use X5SE, its the most stable and fast compared to X6 and X7.... and has the latest map from Malfreemap, which is updated every 2 weeks.... you dont need to updated the maps that frequently, i do mine every 3 months ++... The latest map update form Malfreemap was 2nd Aug 2011 (Garmin map was updated 1st Aug 2011)...

X8 dont have the latest map as it uses Android based maps (R51, unlike X5Se uses R21) maps, it uses map last updated in April 2011, and next update will be in Sept 2011. Apart from the interface being diff, the map is exactly the same as X5SE, so there is no reason to use it over X5SE...

Oh ya, the route re-calculation in X8 is faster, but by one or two seconds compared to X5SE...

ADD-ON: It's called Papago! ONE on the screen of X8.... nod.gif nod.gif

Yeap mine don't have. when i went to the SC at 7.30 the boss already standby with the damper in the box, within 5 mins gao dim. In the end, I reach 1 hour earlier than usual lol rclxub.gif and balik still same time.

Btw, anyone can answer me about the radio question? (My mix fm channel always show breakfast with JD and dilly 6-10am even though its already midnight). And, is the default angle for the antenna optimum? These few days i guess hissing sound when i use the tuner....wondering is it the weather or my HU is working up... shakehead.gif
