cyberjaya is more like a illusion to me......how it would become a successful city depend on how many want to migrate there, especially chinese... i second lucerne statement on this.

actually cyberjaya & putrajaya nt suppose to have non-halal food..
non-halal here i meant is 'pork'...
bt somehow..there are few pub here at cyber
bt this still nt able to drew the crowd..
most of ppl will thought of cyberjaya as working place instead of staying place..its the kind of perception that this place gives out..
i nt sure what will this place become once all the new development completed, bt 1 thing for sure...
'no pork policy' will always be applied...
unless Barang Naik become Barang Jatuh...

The first non halal commercial may be opened in Garden Residence in 2013/2014.

out of these few requirements, i only see shopping malls and pubs coming to CBJ in near future... no chu yuk, no entertainment, strict enforcement, no proper commercial hub... how to have massage parlour and health spa? i hope chu yuk factor will come in sooner or later, but dont think the food will be affordable nor choices aplenty...

i still see CBJ will have nice living environment but too high class to have the same 'wongness' as Puchong...

For CBJ, already approved for non halal ever since new and trendy developers invited to come in. Example MS, OSK, SP and etc. U will cinema, snkt, hotel coming. In fact, the statement of non halal food is weak as with so many projects and many MNC coming to cyberjaya. The area will be a different '''PUCHONG" with new city landscape and facilities.

CBJ will be very competitive vs Puchong if the following are achieved

1. chinese schools (heard 1 developer is working on it)

2. commercial malls (IOI is building one BIG mall in Palm Garden plus Shaftbury, D'Pulze, etc)

3. affordable homes (currently high end or student hostels dev in CJ...hope some developers will see the opportunity to build affordable homes for majority of the blue collar workers in CJ)

Few years back, Cyberjaya was a place to work and study only. There are 3 university colleges, IT frims, shared services and call centres handling for Asia Pacific.
This area was lack of residential and shoplots. Hardly get good food. Price is on high side. Shopping centre and Fast food operators not dare to open their outlets due to low population. Most staffs travel to Equine, Dengkil for food. They stay mainly in Puchong, Seri Kembangan and Kajang. It takes 30 - 40 minutes drive to KL via MEX.
Today, I see more developments with Capitalland, MahSing, Shaftsbury Square, Glomac, MK Land, OSK Property, MCT Home etc. More shops have opened with more choices. We will see more financial institutions after Maybank and CIMB. Property is overprice.
Once these new developments completed, we will see oversupply. Among the developments include:
D'Pulze
Shaftsbury Square, Cyberjaya, Mixed Commercial & Residential Dev
Garden Plaza - Serviced Suites
Garden Residence - Resort Homes
Symphony Park
Symphony Hills
Serin Residency
Domain 4
SOHO @ Selangor Science Park 2
D'Cassia apartment
Mirage By The Lake
the ARC Residences apartment
Trillium Resort Residence @Perdana LakeView East, Cyberjaya
The Place @ Cyberjaya
SETIA ECO GLADES @ CYBERJAYA, by SP Setia
PRIMERA SUITE - SOHO
My Diva Homes
Even though I foresee students and on shift workers will move back and stay at Cyberjaya, it will still oversupply once it is completed in these 3 years. Staffs who are staying in Puchong, Seri Kembangan will remain. The reason is location where these areas located between KL and Cyberjaya. 15 minutes driving distance to Cyberjaya is accptable.
The question on whether Cyberjaya will become another Puchong is depending on government policy and incentives to attract more foreign companies to open their companies and regional hub for IT centre and Call Centres. Others include transportation and infrastructure.

currently no..after 2013 when all development complete..will oversupply of properties...those who invest and trying to sell could not yield high profit...

i work in cyberjaya for 4 years..company with 1.5k staffs..but less than 3% stay in cyber
if they ever having gathering/farewell/dinner/movie/teambuilding etc...they rather travel out of cyberjaya

those who stay in cyber mostly students from uni or colleges and foreigners working there..these ppl just rent, not buy it

for local...everyone rather stay in area nearby like sri kembangan/serdang/bukit jalil/puchong..

just my 2 cents
