Calling on 3G, as long as the network is stable and not blocking Viber or VoIP in general, should be just fine. Does calling work fine for you on WiFi? Also - did you contact your cell provider and ask if they're blocking VoIP? @deyamato - I'm not sure I understood the problem fully... can you please explain again? Hi Viber support, I'm using Samsung Galaxy S2. Using original shipping ROM 2.3.6 from samsung as well. I do encounter few problems...
1) It freeze the phone occasionally, even when picking-up Viber call. sometimes it just pop-out force-close. *Not mistaken, it did freeze up my phone after got it installed on 1st-launch. 2) Very soft volume, I've already maximized all volume in Setting->Volume, still very soft when making call using Viber. How to judge how soft is it. Almost un-hearable. *sometimes it goes loud for "a" second, then goes back soft. Tried 3G/3.5G/Wifi network, all same. 3) Certain contact unable to sync, and do realized it messed-up to contact log as well. eg. About issues 1 and 2 - I kindly ask you to report it to our support team. With the info you give them they will look into the problems and hopefully be able to solve it soon. Here's the direct link: http://bit.ly/ukGVJ0 About issue 3 - First, Viber call logs are logged as "regular" calls on external call loggers because this is currently the expected behavior. We might separate Viber calls from the others in the future. About users who are not recognized as Viber users, please try the following workaround: Open Viber and find a person you know who has Viber in the "All" contact list. To reboot synchronization, change a digit, save and exit the contact list. Open contact again, change the digit back to the original, correct number, save and exit. Wait for approximately 10 minutes and see if the contact is now recognized as a Viber user. If this doesn't work, please enter Viber's DialPad and try to manually dial the number in its FULL format (including the "+" sign, the country code, area code, etc.) |

Can anyone tell me how to activate my viber?i'm using tab 7plus with only a broadband simcard from celcom..i didnt get the sms with activation code

If this doesn't help, contact our support team at http://support.viber.com and give them the details of the problem.Meanwhile, you can try registering with another phone number (using the code you receive for your Tablet), and use Viber. |

Is there any way to turn down Viber's call quality (bit rate in Kbps), because when i'm abroad data roaming is expensive and the hotel's WiFi is just too slow...

@Xabrius - Viber's new sound engine (assuming both users have version 2.1.x and above) decides automatically, and according to the network's speed, how much bandwidth it will use. the average is about 0.3MB per minute of call.
Unfortunately there is no way to manually set the bitrate, but you can try searching for another WiFi nearby (or a closer spot to the AP) where you'll get better reception. |
