1. Thank you. We'll look into it.
2. Hmm.. this is more of a suggestion than a bug, but please note that other sides clearly prefer it to be the other way - they say that when pressing "Back", they want to go to the page where they previously were, and not to Viber's main screen. I'll pass on the request and your explanation, but sometimes we have to go with what the majority asks for..
3. It's actually under development these very days. We still don't know exactly when it will be ready, but we're doing our best so it happens soon smile.gif

This is a known request, and it's certainly on our list of development.

What will happen to contacts if I swap in another SIM card number? What do the contacts see on the other side?

Nothing will happen - they will remain in your contact lists just fine, and when you call them, they will see your old number - the one you originally registered with.
If you'd like Viber to have your new number as its identifier, you'll have to re-register.

this is very odd, after updating to the latest version (2.1.2) the app seems to hang. navigating to the Messages tab and other tabs requires more than 2-3 seconds. I have tried uninstalling and installing it again to confirm the issue is not related to other factor. I hope a workaround is in the work right now because it was smooth like butter before.

HTC Desire Z (Gingerbread 2.3.3)

p/s: my friend is using SGSII is also facing this issue. So this might not be an isolated bug after all.

Hmm...
This problem is usually caused by one of the two:
1. There is another app on your Android (or a widget, etc.) that possibly collides with Viber, causing it to slow down.
2. A custom ROM or Kernel may be affecting Viber.

Did you make sure it's not one of these two options?

Can you tell us moer about the "hang" you mentioned? Because so far i've encounter nothing of such.
2.1.2 is the version that makes me finally install viber forever in my phone and now it has saved me from topping up for 3 months already. (no i dont use a data plan)

I uses a custom kernel and also a custom ROM (MIUI-Au) so it should be one of the apps that is clashing with viber.
I suggest using "Quick System Info Pro" (Download free from market) and look at the apps list. Then maybe tell us all the apps here so that the viber personnel can check for you. Since you say your friend is using, then maybe both of you see which app you both have the same and list it out. Or if you're confident enough, suggest a suspicious app.

Good luck.

What i encounter though is viber suddenly puts down my call half way. Which it dont happen all the time and i dont think it's viber's issue (but if it is, tell me). Most probably a connection (being too poor) issue. Since im sharing my line with other 5 person.

want to ask...

using samsung galaxy note. but this is the same with galaxy s2. stock ROM.

from contacts -- menu -- more -- display options, i can see a list of contact locations under "select contacts to display".

Q1. sometimes, i see viber listed here... sometimes i don't. why? i have not done anything and it just appeared again (right now). this morning, it wasn't there.

Q2. when i expand the viber, it has a checkbox for "all contacts". what does this do?

Q3. previously, viber would be merged automatically with my existing google contacts. but after wiping my phone and reinstalling, i noticed sometimes it becomes viber listing becomes a separate entry on its own -- i have to merge the contacts manually. why?

Q4. i noticed lately (could be the recent version), i get black screen every now and then. i end up having to kill the viber task and then restarting it.

Q5. i also noticed the viber icon dun appear on the notification tray any more. previously, it would appear there...

After some time, even Viber service is running at the background, I still can't receive call unless I open up the Viber app for once. Happens to my sister's Galaxy Ace, and my Galaxy S2.

Hi everyone,
I apologize for my delayed response:

- There was a temporary issue with our servers which should be fully fixed now. Please try it out and make sure everything is working well smile.gif

@mydragoon -
It's important to note that Galaxy Note is only 'similar' to S2, but not quite the same. Little tweaks and differences than the original S2 could well be the source of the problem.

1. This is a known issue to us that should be fixed on the upcoming Viber 2.1.3 (make sure your contacts have 2.1.3 as well). Once release, please report back to me if it was indeed fixed or not.

2. Please add a screenshot, I'm not sure I fully understood.

3. This could be a Galaxy Note issue, we haven't encountered it thus far. You are welcome to contact our support team (forum user section) and report this issue with screenshots: http://bit.ly/ukGVJ0

4. This could have many (many) reasons, some of which might not even be related to Viber itself (but rather - the Kernel, the ROM, other apps colliding with Viber, etc...). See if Viber 2.1.3 helps you with that in the future.

5. This can be set inside Viber's settings. You can toggle the icon on/off.

@xsaintzx -
I am not sure I fully understood the problem. Please explain it step-by-step so I could provide assistance smile.gif

First of all do you have any auto task killer apps? or do you constantly task kills?

If yes i would like to share that android does not need any task killing, its multitasking is not the same as other OS. So please uninstall any task killer apps and refrain from killing apps manually so that viber will always be working in the background with C2DM.

Cheers.

I have Viber installed on my Galaxy Note, and most of times when others called me, my phone did not ring (in standby mode). Only after I turned on the locked screen, connected to the Internet, then only I saw missed calls from Viber. Was this caused by installation of juice saver app e.g. 2x battery? Did anyone experience this?

According to what you're saying, when your screen is locked, juice saver actually disconnects you from the internet. While your phone is disconnected, then naturally there is no way for Viber to know if you're being called. Viber, like all communication apps out there, needs to be online to receive calls/text messages.

@mynewuser -
That's a nice suggestion. I'll pass it on here in the company and we'll see what we can do smile.gif

Ok but now I have all juice saver apps disabled. Anyhow just now after my phone has been in idle mode for more than half an hour, when I turned on my screen then I saw Viber icon was in transparent purple instead of purple. It only turned back to purple after I went into Viber (I didn't exit from Viber anyway). Does it mean Viber was disconnected?
