and i'm waiting for my visa...still no reply.
my education agent here gave the docs to monash , on the 23rd or something... funny thing is, i had giving the documents to the agent more than 2 weeks before on the 7th of november,
it's gonna be 10th jan tomorrow, days are running by, my old office is calling to see if i'm free and can work part time but i've done that for 8 years and i want to punch out.
@Alakanbunny, do visas for international applicants take that long? because malaysia i think is the first country i ever heard that visa is issued from the home country , not from the embassy of the country of residence / country of application.
I mean to say if i was to apply for a us college, once i get my application and i-20 papers, i fill them up , take my financial statements, go to the embassy and get my visa pronto within 2-3 days.

ah it's alright, it's just something wierd and for the first time i'm hearing international students end up getting the sharp end of the stick for just applying to the universities. I wouldn't mind the uni officials acting baka since i am applying there, it's just that the govt ends up being so strict that it overshadows potential good people who just want a good life and education that malaysia has to offer, sweat.gif
When australia had issues with south asian students and workers, many of them stopped going to the universities based there and it affected them in such a way that i do believe the govt stepped up and tried to make amends and find solutions to protect legal students.
Already got an email today confirming my accommodation at SMR , single room , well lets see how that goes smile.gif icon_rolleyes.gif blush.gif
i do plan for both better or worse, if i do get my visa to study in monash , i'll make the best out of my years there, and move on.
if i i don't get my visa, i'll get a refund from monash university, i won't get my whole RM 2000 for the EMGS services, inspite of being charged for a medical test which i cannot take, and being charged for medical insurance which means squat for me. I'll reapply to my ex company for my old job which i think i still might have.

i just don't understand the policies of malaysian govt. I do know they have to protect their interests and a few foreign students have made life horrible and taxing to the new students, unsure.gif whistling.gif if you know what i mean.

i just am hopeful it's not a wrong decision made by me. shocking.gif

from what i understand it's based on the teacher / professor's / lecturers availability and timing , since you won't get first class of bio , second class of physics etc.

when you join in , u have to register for the program , then i think +allocate, after which they get you the time table.
it's not like in us or uk , u fill in the slots and you get to choose the classes which you want to attend,it's mostly decided before hand.

hope that helps.

which program have you chosen?

During my time abt 10 years ago, there will be no choices for lecture but tutorials and labs session you get to choose based on first come first serve for the available slots

My daughter is doing foundation in arts in Sunway University and she is interested to continue to do accounting in Monash. I was told she is not eligible to study Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and she could only do Bachelor of Business & Commerce, majoring in Accounting. Is this true? Is there any other option if she wants to the former one? What is the difference between this 2 courses?

http://www.monash.edu.my/study/undergradua...rce-accounting#
acccording to info in this link requirement for those taking Foundation of Art Sunway is 80% in 2013, however for 2014, it became N/A.

there are some discussion about Bachelor of Commerce(Accounting) & Bachelor of Business & Commerce in this thread before.i quote a part of the discussion below:
1) Apparently more difficult both to enter and in terms of subjects
2) Much smaller classes (due to smaller intake and entry requirements)
3) Try to focus on more case studies during tutorials
4) More in depth syllabus in accounting?
5) Justified by their higher fees...

in short, Bachelor of Commerce is branded by Monash as the ''harder and prestigious'' course

She is doing her final semester which ends in Feb. Her average for first 2 semester is > 80%. Apparently there is a Mathematics subject which is a prerequisite for the Bachelor of Commerce entry which is not covered in the Sunway Foundation in Arts that disqualify her of getting in. When check the link of this course one will find N/A for Sunway Foundation under qualification to get in.
