i havent come across a screen protector that interfere with the proximity sensor. If you are talking about light sensor then the matte type might let less light in, making the light sensor less sensitive. So my answer is no.

I’ve done reading (the more I read, the more I become blur), and I still have some question\doubt on this ‘rooting/flashing ROM’ thingy.
1. My SGS2 (PDA = I9100XWKF1, Phone = I9100DXKF1, CSC = I9100OLBKE5) with Kernel version = 2.6.35.7-I9100WKF1-CL265340root@DELL106#2
2. If I do rooting, does it change my Kernel? What is the difference between secure and unsecure kernel?
3. Let say, I ‘m flashing to a new ROM/firmware, can I still have my app?
4. I just want to have stock ROM (KG1 or latest to be install). How on earth can I do this without messing my apps?
5. Where can I get and how to recognize the stock ROM which is compatible with my PDA, Phone and especially CSC? (do flashing ROM messing the CSC?)

I hope someone can help me on this…really appreciate it!!!

those KG2 is not 2.3.4 but 2.3.3

the new one XX OXA KG2 is yet to be uploaded by CF...wait for it....meantime u still can use XX_OXA_KG1 is 2.3.4...

1. XWKF1 is stock rom, not that optimized though.
2. depending on which kernel you flash to root. there are various way to root without changing the stock kernel
3. get your phone rooted, install titanium backup and backup your apps. after flashing to new rom, root the new rom then restore your apps via titanium again
4. if you are flashing via odin, all apps will be wiped. backup first before you flash. some custom roms are non wipe version, but i think you better stick to stock rom
5. you can download stock rom from samfirmware.com. usually it comes with 3 files, code=pda, phone=modem, and CSC. PDA is refer to rom base, phone is refer to radio/modem (wifi, network signal and etc) and csc contain the supported languages.

please read instruction on how to flash the rom via odin first, understand it clearly before proceed.

Like what others said, the instruction is straight enough. However, slowly read and understand first. Cos if not, you are just wasting your time trying to do something you don't understand Remember, don't rush...

I uninstall the whole VR 2.0. Do not install the first tweak which is the disable the buzzer sound when full charge. It is said in XDA (some guy tested) saying that without that installed, you will not get FC.

I am on Litening 2.2 and works like charm. I not sure if it is me or what but my battery lasted 10.5 hours with medium heavy usage compared to VR which only lasted me 8 hours max. Maybe just pure luck?

be carefull when installing VR Tweaks as not all are needed actually...some are craps...and some might even change your framework and worst causing FC....

yeah something like that. everyday got new build. but we dont know what nightlies will have new features. some nightlies lose a feature and some got added. its the way to have a stable build at some point, after some nightlies(maybe 30-40 or maybe 60), they will have RC and then after some time will have stable version.
