hmm if my parquet is being attacked and then follow by the new wood flooring, doesn't their warranty still applies to their wood since they claim termite wont eat their wood ??
now i'm headache... i dunno weather to,

A. Remain parquet = Cost 0 = Risk of termite attack and tak cantik
B. Change to Tile = Cost 6-7k include labouring and tiles = Cantik sekali  tongue.gif
C. Change to floor depo deluxe wood = Cost 3 - 4k include labouring and wood = ok ok la but termite eat the parquet underneath how ?  shocking.gif

Based on what i see from my parents house, their upstairs flooring is parquet and we've lived in the house for more than 20 years. Till now there has been no issue with termites.

My parents regularly get pest control companies to come over and place medicine around the house. Parquet still looks good but a lil worn from use.

This is call broken marble. I was looking for this broken marble last weekend, cost about RM 300 / ton, installation is about RM 2 - RM3, and polish for old floor is about RM 2.00 per square feet.

It can shine good after polish.

a ton can go up to how many sq ft?

My new house also come with broken marble (living room - dining area) approx 350sqf. Cheap ipoh marble smile.gif
Then staircase up to upstairs all parquet.
I kept the marble and add-on with skirting for easy maintain in future. (e.g. you wont hurt your wall paint when polish floor & mop floor)
labour for skirting = rm200
buy skirting from marble factory = RM1.50 per pc
labour for polishing = rm350

My living hall is very classy look now. The floor also have cooling effect.

As for parquet, I change all to tiles.
labour to remove parquet + install tiles = RM5k
tiles = RM4k (niro tiles)
So...please keep the marble, then use your $ for other thing. Enjoy ya... thumbup.gif

Hi all,

I'm Sam. I have a 3000sqf INOVAR laminate wooden selling at RM7persqf (8mm) purchased for RM9persqf . It's been used once for an event. No glue has been applied onto lamination as we lay a layer of carpet on base and then only assemble the laminations. Feel free to drop me an email shall you are interested - sam_yeow7@yahoo.com or call @ 014-7213428. Negotiable

Regards,
Sam

Understand that this is an old topic, but I have a suggestion for those having broken marble floor.
Usually the old house that we bought, come with marble floor in the living hall. Usually it doesn't has skirting, especially broken marble floor. Putting a new marble skirting will make your living hall very very nice.
