Hi Lee,
Do you know roughly the price for the above model? For the Asus, which is better? Pardon me as I really a complete ignorance in mobile computing.... Lenovo is out of consideration.

Thanks.

i am against spending too much money on laptop because you wont use it for more than 2 or 3 years and even if you buy the best of best now it will become out of fashion obsolete in 1 year like i bought 2 gb core 2 duo laptop when even desktops came with atmost 1gb ram after a year all laptops started with 3gb as a lowest configuration..it was sheer wastage of money laptops are and will never will able to do heavy duty stuff there speakers screen can never replace even cheap desktop configurations you will only bad after 6 months when you will see a much better specs at low price

My laptop has served me well for the last 5 years. But it is time to get a new one now. A lot of blue screen now,and heating issue.I bought an IBM thinkpad t60,that was donkey years ago.Damn reliable,I think I never shut off properly my lappy since I bought it.It was priced at that time,I think, more than 5k.

Both are good, depends on how well you take care of them nod.gif
In general, the cooler the laptop, the longer it'll last... N43 is cooler here because of the relatively weaker specifications laugh.gif
Oh ya, extend warranty for peace of mind~

You get what you pay for, 5 years is awesome~
My previous Toshiba Tecra is becoming 8 years old lo haha~ laugh.gif
Specs may become obsolete that's for sure, but not everyone needs the most "in" programs anyway, as long as can surf web/ watch movies, many would be contented already haha laugh.gif

For gaming, Dell Inspiron 14 is better nod.gif

But for that price range, you might want to consider these instead, they're better:
Acer
Aspire 4750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT 520@RM1949[2.3kg], 3 years local limited warranty

Asus
A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(1GB)@RM2349[2.44kg]

You have a good budget, can consider these instead:
14"
Lenovo Y470, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT550M@RM2999[JBL]

15.6"
HP Dv6-6001TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770@RM3499 [2.63kg]; Beats headphones
HP Dv6-6114TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770 + BluRay@RM3799 [Beats][2.63kg], [4GB RAM] Beats headphones, HP optical mouse, HP 500GB external HDD

Use the remaining money to extend warranty to 3 years and you'll be good to go~
