Anybody with ALC892? I need help with the mic input, it seems that it will be muted a minute after I selected it. Currently need to use the USB headphone for mic input but I need it for another interface with my amateur radio.

Yup, vanilla means that we're not touching the kernel or extensions (drivers). Any additional extensions that are required will be in the /Extra folder. With this, updating the OS will be smooth since we don't touch the original stuff.

According to some US websites, Lion in USBdrive is on the shelve now. So for those who're looking for a fresh install and w/o SL before, to go for legit solution is there. US$69 .. and probably will be available in the online store before end of the month.

guys...can we use the common mic to use with our hackintosh system?
because i tried before, but it dont detect the mic..

how then?

I've problem with my 892 sound card, the mic will work around 30s before shutting it off by itself. So, bought myself a VZTEC's RM19.90 USB sound card and I'm good. It'll be a headache to get the internal mic working..

Aya.. no one can help our friends here with notebook installation ka? My only experience running hackintosh on net/notebook was quite sometime back, running it on my lenovo s10 netbook. Best is to check insanelymac and tonymac websites. I'll add the links in the first post later on.

On the dual boot issue, here is the way I did my installation on my desktop:

1. Install OSX, during installation, create GUID partition for OSX and another partition for Windows (didn't remember, either set to NTFS or FAT32).
2. Install Windows 7 to the Windows partition, this will screw up your boot, you won't be able to multiboot yet.
3. Boot up using either iBoot or MyHack (whichever you use for your installation) and rerun Chameleon or Chimera (whichever you used as your bootloader.

In your /Extra/comp.apple.Boot.plist add the following:

CODE

       <key>Default Partition</key>
       <string>hd(0,2)</string>
       <key>Timeout</key>
       <string>2</string>

This will default your bootup partition, with a countdown of 2 secs so you could choose which OS you want to boot up. Works perfectly for me .. tho' now I've totally wiped out my Windows7 since I can run it on my VM.. just added another 8GB into my setup yesterday smile.gif

@izzi, itunes? What apps do you want to buy? You should use AppStore and not iTunes to download Mac apps.

The itunes error has nothing to do with the OS. Have you been able to logon from other machine at home? I've never have any problem connecting to itunes (for my iphone) using my setup, be it at 10.6.8 or Lion. Have you check Apple's knowledge base? They might have explanation and troubleshooting guide to fix your problem.

Since the Lion in USB is now available from online store, probably there will be more question on how to install Lion from scratch. There are few ways now, one of it can be found here using kakewalk.

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=262823

I believe there will be more way of getting Lion installed .. still waiting the iboot way..

Finally, upgraded the other Hackintosh to 10.7, this time I'm using kakewalk + multibeast. Tho a little hiccup since somehow, kakewalk doesn't create the /Extra folder with necessary extensions, this solved by using multibeast. Anyway, to create a kakewalk installer, we still need access to Mac/Hackintos.

Lion installation should be a no-brainer now with many guides propping up on the net. If you've Gigabyte motherboard, using Kakewalk is even easier. On the other hackintosh that I've just worked on, I did a fresh install .. for some reason, I don't really like doing an upgrade which usually left all the old stuff sometime sitting in the same folders as the newer ones.

*
Hmm, I don't use any software .. it remaps itself without any configuration needed.

@how5day, what multibeast version did you use? Check your chimera release and see if it is the latest.

Added on September 11, 2011, 8:58 pmOn your problem with the network, just download the driver here:

http://www.kexts.com/view/362-d-link_dfe-520tx.html

Put it into /Extra/Extensions

Rerun multibeast and click system utility to regenerate the cache and repair any permission. Reboot and hopefully your network should be up and runing.

Added on September 11, 2011, 9:00 pm@azshahmi, sorry, couldn't help much since I don't have any experience running hackintosh on AMD. What webcam camera do you use?

Ediiteddd.. Sorry i found the extra folder ady hehe

Added on September 12, 2011, 12:23 pm

Wiraone, the network kexts i put into extra d then it works!! Thank you very much

So i tot the same work with graphic card i go to http://www.kexts.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=476
And download and put in extra there oso, then my mac cannot boot d omg haha..
*
Well, you can .. just try to boot in safe mode, during the boot up, try using -X .. this hopefully won't try to load the graphics card extension. Your graphics card doesn't need extra kext.

Added on September 13, 2011, 10:55 amBye Izzi .. good to have you here smile.gif My main working machine is still a Hackintosh, so I'll still be active in this thread ..

@how5day, you still haven't reply to my question on what version of bootloader you have, is it chimera or chameleon? Is the bootloader the latest one? The card I believe should've been supported by the latest chimera bootloader, so no extra kext needs to be installed.

The bootloader I not sure oh, i follow tonymacx86 there (iboot+multibeast) guide and download the multibeast and iboot, anyway,i need iboot cd everytime to boot to mac otherwise it wont get into it,smtg wrong?shud i reinstall the os?
*
Aha, that tells everything why you can't get the max resolution for your card. You haven't install the bootloader. So, boot up via iboot cd, hopefully you've the latest multibeast 3.9.0.

Go to Drivers & Bootloaders -> Bootloaders and click on Chimera.

Continue the bootloader installation. You shouldn't require the iBoot anymore after you've added the bootloader.

guy please help me...i just bought i7 n evrthng to make my hackintosh...the prblem is how to install the os..some say must have chameleon..kernal..what's that all for??can anybody tell what installer should i have to build hackintosh??tqvm

What OS do you have? Do you have any other Mac around you? If you don't have any Mac, then you need a OSX Snow Leopard to start with. Beg, buy .. but not steal the DVD. No, you can't use the DVD that comes with the Mac, you need the retail Snow Leopard DVD to start with. Go to the first post, there is a link to tonymac's guide using iboot + retail DVD.

If you've a Mac with Snow Leopard and bought Lion from AppStore, there is a different way of doing the installation. Tell us first what you've and we can start from there.
