@thx, swap the AVF dongle with your friend and see if it works, if not, then you may need to do something with your setup.

@annoy, for AMD, you may need to find a specific kernel hack to get it running. You can't use the stock kernel.. someone here might have hackintosh running on AMD platform.. but, sorry, I couldn't help much.

Anybody want to share their build here? Probably a guide on your own build and what needs to get things working on your build?

Don't remember exactly the price, but it way cheaper than the one listed in the HP website.

Hey guys. I'm currently trying to install Lion via usb stick based on the link skitZo posted, but I'm stuck at "Pci Configuration Begin" at the boot screen. Any ideas on a fix? I'm using GTX460 graphics card, Intel Core i7 2600k and Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P. Thanks in advance.
*
Have you checked your BIOS? HD/SATA needs to be set to AHCI. If your mobo has DVI port, probably use the internal GPU for installation and later try the video card. But since you're copying what skitzo has, probably just wait for him to answer smile.gif

It is nice to have everything running and not tainting the extensions etc, but I've not seen any working dsdt for my p8z68v-pro. Best I could do is to patch some of the extensions to get the speedstep and sleep working correctly..

Apparently my joyful celebration at a working Hackintosh is premature since I can't get it to recognize any of the drives I've installed, except the ones that's under a Marvell controller (which is where I've connected the boot drive to). Nor could I get sound and ethernet to work. :/

Anyone can figure out why? I've spent all of yesterday searching for a fix. Sent skitZo a PM asking about his post installation process, but he hasn't logged in yet.

The graphics card is working fine though, and I've done a slight mod so that Premiere Pro would accept it for Cuda/GPU acceleration, since it wasn't automatically enabled.

There are few steps you need to follow to get the things working.

1. ethernet, most gigaybte mobos are shipped with realtek's chipset. So, from your latest multibeast, install the ethernet card driver and do remember to select the System Utilities option, this will repair your exts permission and regenerate the exts cache. If this doesn't work, head up to lnx2mac's website here:

http://lnx2mac.blogspot.com/p/realtekrtl81xx-osx-driver.html

and download the latest ext.

2. on the sata & audio, have you downloaded the correct DSDT from tonymac's dsdt database? do remember, you need to download the correct dsdt according to your bios. they've f3, f4 and lastest f5 DSDT there. http://www.tonymacx86.com/dsdt.php

Anyway, what smbios.plist definition that you use? imac12,1?

@dawn, can you go into system profile and see under Serial-ATA. I've problem previously on marvell controller and never on intel. Check if any of the other controllers shown up there. You may want to check for any error message returned by the kernel, use console app to check the kernel log.

@thx, can't help much .. but I believe you can diagnose further your problem .. Do you see the BIOS bootup screen on both monitors? Try disconnecting the two monitors and let only one monitor connected to the graphics card (the port that aren't recognised). Swap around with the other monitor and vice versa .. if both monitors and ports are okay, then I believe you need to go ahead with diagnosing the Lion problem .. or better still, are both monitors working okay on Windows?

@thx, try the latest multibeast 4.0.3, it has the latest chimera .. nothing much I can see what the easybest option will do .. anyway, after you've managed to fix your problem, I'll suggest that you add a backup partition in your HD just to hold a copy of your working setup. With this, you can always boot from that cloned partition and go back to the know working setup.

A new guide to install Lion coming out from tonymacx86 website can be found here:

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/10/uni...lion-using.html

For those who're on Windows platform, there is no easy way to get this other than to ask any of your friend to buy and create the USB (or get the RM199 ones but you still need to have a friend who can copy it into another USB thumbdrive and install kexts to let it load on non-Apple hardware).

Can't help you there iSaaC, you need to have an upgraded Mac to be able to buy and download I believe. Other choice is to buy the RM199 USB version.

mini laptop? Not atom based one is it? Had once running on S10 but I don't think I can live with it.. so abandon it after few weeks using it. Try the Ultrabook .. but nobody has it running Hackintosh on it yet.. problem I can see is the driver for the wifi ..
