Warrior(2019)
Creator- Jonathan Tropper (Banshee)
Producer-Justin Lin (The Fast and Furious franchise)
Executive Producer (Bruce Lee’s daughter) Shannon Lee
Debuts -April 5th.(10 episodes-weekly)
Stars-Andrew Koji, Dianne Doan.

Adapted from the writings of Bruce Lee, the
the martial-arts superstar who died of a cerebral
edema at the age of 33.

In 1971, Bruce Lee tried to make "Warrior" in
which he would star in. But studios passed.
Instead the very next year, the tv series "Kung Fu"
premiered with David Carradine as a Chinese man.
Lee's widow disputed that the studio stole the idea
and never gave him any credit for it.

This time producer Justin Lin teamed up with Lee’s daughter,
Shannon and brought the eight pages original notes from
Bruce to this series.

Set in San Francisco’s Chinatown in 1878, about a
Chinese immigrant, Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) who comes to
America to find his estranged sister Xiaojing, Mai Ling (Dianne Doan)

It will chronicle Sahm’s rise to become a hatchet
man for one of the leading Chinese crime families
as he and Mai Ling continue to walk down that
troublesome path in the city. The brother-sister
dynamic help gives the story some weight.

Koji doesn’t attempt to do an impersonation of Bruce Lee
but making the character distinctly his own.

There are way too many good shows on air right now.

Killing Eve S2, Veep, Fleabag, and Doom Patrol. Next week GOT will commence....Not enough time to catch 'em all.

The victim (UK-2019)
8 April– 11 April - 4 Episodes(All Available)
Creator- Rob Williams
Director- Niall MacCormick
Stars- Kelly Macdonald, James Harkness, John Hannah,
Karla Crome.

Bus driver Craig Myers (James Harkness)
is suddenly attacked on his doorstep in his home
on Halloween. Wakes up in a hospital to the news
that everyone thinks he’s a child killer.

Anna Dean (Kelly Macdonald), a nurse whose 9 year
old son was killed by Eddie J Turner over a decade ago.

Anna’s posted online alleging Myers is actually
Turner who was released after serving a seven-year
prison sentence and granted lifelong anonymity by
the courts.
She has never been able to accept Turner's release.
She thinks he's evil.

Anna is then charged with incitement to murder.

The truth is complicated with plenty to suspect
on both side.
The final 15 minutes was the hardest and most
heartbreaking. Truly outstanding performance by
Kelly MacDonald and James Harkness.
The ending ... just perfect.

The no.1 contributor to a lot of global misinformation. The original fake news channel. The rubber prosthetic a little too telling. Think there's a movie version with John Lithgow and a bunch of a-list actress aimed at awards season.

Guess it's worthwhile for at least 2,3 episodes. Might reread the books again to freshen up who's who.

Gentleman Jack (US-2019-Period Drama)
Limited series. Release Date: 22 April-8 episodes-weekly.
Created, written and directed - Sally Wainwright
Cast: Suranne Jones, Sophie Rundle (Bodyguard),
Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones)

Based on the true story and coded diaries of Anne Lister.
She wrote the diary in a secret code because at a time
when same-sex relationships were unacceptable.

The series picked up rather late in her life, 1832.
Lister (Suranne Jones) the 41-year-old, a world traveler,
stubborn, independent-minded and prefers to dress in black.
She doesn’t enjoy life rooted to any spot.

She returns to her ancestral home in Halifax after being
dumped by her girlfriend. And with her father’s health failing,
she sees an opportunity to step in and run the dwindling fortunes
of her family’s coal mines.

At the end of the 1st episode, Lister begins her new courtship with
29-year-old Ann Walker (Sophie Rundle), a shy wealthy but lonely
manufacturing heiress who is being pressured by family members
to accept the marriage proposal of a widower
Thomas Ainsworth (Brendan Patricks).

This series doesn’t play either a lesbian or a feminist drama.
It is more of the work of a woman who saw no reason to follow
rules that were offensive and that made no sense.
At the time, when it was considered unladylike to be clever
or to show you're too smart.

A rebel with a cause.

Dead To Me (US-UK 2019)
Release-May 3
10-episode. 30 mins per episodes (All available)
Creator-Liz Feldman
Stars-Cast: Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini,
James Marsden.

Jen (Christina Applegate) a real estate agent and
a mother of two. Trying to rebuild her life after
her husband has recently died in a hit and run
three months ago. Still struggling and is in grief and anger.
Mad at the person who ran his husband over and at
the cops who haven’t found the driver.

She tries out a support group
and befriends a free-spirited woman named
Judy (Linda Cardellini).
Jen and Judy actually have a lot in common.
Her "story" is that her fiance died two months ago.

Jen and Judy form a fast friendship,
each woman offering something that the other lacks.
The show is at its best when Jen and Judy are just
hanging out.

Quite hard to discuss what kind of show it is.
It’s a little mystery, a little comedy also a drama.
Simple, plain entertainment and concludes with a cliffhanger.

Worth it for the Christina Applegate performance alone.

in history.

Yes, human error played a huge part in the massive explosion.
But it is not only about a disaster on a technical level.
It’s about how the stubbornness and ignorance of humanity.
And this is what happens when we ignore the truth.

It's a powerful story with an excellent cast.
A must-see.

Release Date- 14 June
10-episodes.All available-internet
Creators: Ed Brubaker, Nicolas Winding Refn.
Stars-Miles Teller, Augusto Aguilera, John Hawkes
Cristina Rodlo, Jena Malone, Nell Tiger Free

The series follows Martin Jones (Miles Teller)
a Los Angeles corrupt Police officer and has a
side gig as an assassin by night. A man of few
words and refuses money for his services.
He just wants the predators.

He has an underage girlfriend named Janey, (Nell Tiger Free)
with a wealthy venture capitalist father, Theo (William Baldwin)

Caught himself in an underworld filled with Mexican cartels,
Yakuza, and the Russian mafia.

The first two episodes introduce Martin and Jesus (Augusto Aguilera).
Jesus ailing uncle, the head of a powerful Mexican cartel. And a
violence cousin, Miguel (Robert Aguire).

The third episode introduces two interesting characters,
a hitman, Viggo (John Hawkes), and his boss crime
syndicate cult led by Diana (Jena Malone), after a contract
killing on a child molester goes wrong.

Seriously, this series is extremely not for everyone.
Refn referred to it as a "13-hour film", it’s not TV.

Almost every episode is over one hour long, four are about
or over an hour-and-a-half long. The last just over 30 minutes.
The pacing is brutal and demands utmost patience. But if you
can get through it the second one, it actually picks up.

Just finished it last night.
Like it, but don’t love it.
