I am not a huge lover of the movies as I do not have much time for it. But some movies and TV series have huge attraction. I have seen the "The Walking Dead" series and I found it really amazing. I never missed a single episode of it.

I was late joining the party. In 2017 i finally got myself watching it. And i binge watched 7 seasons in 2 weeks biggrin.gif. And haven't missed an episode since

Can't wait to see the TV movie detailing Rick and Jaden's experience

Kingdom - Palace power grabbing drama first, zombie outbreak second.

This is a much better watch than the senseless Rampant movie that came out last year. The first two episodes pretty much setting up who is who and what is what. Unsure how integral is the palace politicking will be on the later episodes. Hope it doesn't goes back to the usual action movie route. So far 2 episodes in is watchable.

It's like Game of Thrones (without the nudity) tongue.gif ... Zombies = White Walkers, bastard child, power grabbing between clans (only 2 major ones so far), proxy-Queen controlled by clan's patriarch, who supports/betrays who, etc. ... the politicking is throughout the whole series, but only 6 episodes (Walking Dead's first season also 6 episodes, hmmmm) ... some plots are too obvious, but still looking forward to Season 2.

I Am the Night(US-2019)
Premieres- January 28th.Six-episode. Limited series.
Directors-First two episodes- Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman)
Vic Mahoney and Carl Franklin.
Stars - Chris Pine, India Eisley.

Loosely based on real Fauna Hodel’s 2008 memoir,
"One Day She’ll Darken".

Set in 1965, Fauna Hodel (India Eisley) a teenage girl being
raised by an African-American alcoholic mother,
Jimmy Lee (Golden Brooks).
Not yet 18 and already working to support her family.
Tormented at home and constantly being picked on by other
kids for being biracial, although she was white.
Most of the time, she looks sad. And doesn’t feel like she
belongs anywhere, only later she finds out she’s adopted.

She journeys to L.A in pursuit of explanations about her
lineage and who her biological parents are.
She later learned that her grandfathers was
Dr. George Hill Hodel,(The man rumored to be behind
infamous 1947 murder of Elizabeth Short, better known as
the "Black Dahlia,")

Chris Pine (Jay Singletary), an ex-marine, damaged and haunted
by memories of the Korean War. Turned reporter, his daily routine
involves photographing celebrity scandals.
Jay was once covering George Hodel, a case he failed to expose.
“Some stories you can’t tell and will eat you alive.”
Sullivan says.

Obsessed with exposing George again, Jay will cross paths
with Fauna.

Eisley shows a great deal of promise, for her first breakout
role. She’s not bad.
A mixed bag not breathtaking but Pine makes it worth watching.
Jenkins did a good job making Pine look good.

Just one episode in, hope the many mysteries will pay off.
The series does a fine job teasing them out.

Based on Joe Wright’s 2011 film of the same name.
In the opening flashback to 2003, we see of Erik (Joel Kinnaman)

The fight choreography is excellent and believable.

Marriage of 2 creative titans. It supposes to be an anthology with different collaborators curated by David Fincher and Tim Miller. Do wonder did they directed any parts of it.

The Umbrella Academy vs Doom Patrol
Umbrella Academy sucks ball. They are stretching the season like all those boring MCU shows. A six or eight episodes will definitely expedite the urgency of the mystery. The biggest problem is the casting a bust and TV budget simply does not allow it to realize its full potential to the weird tones of source material.

Doom Patrol 1st episode fares a lot better than the entire season of Academy. Then again still early to tell. Now it's a matter of how much they willing to explore the deeply weird lineage of the superheroes. Hope they cherry pick some of those great Grant Morrison story arcs.

Well, finally it's official...
Netflix officially cancelled the last of 2 MCU series on their network, Jessica Jones & The Punisher.

It was expected when Netflix cancelled Iron Fist, then Luke Cage, even the popular Dare Devil also cancelled

Kinda enjoyed S2 of Punisher as well, love the brutality there

Now just wait for airing of JJ S3 to bid the final farewell

The Widow (US-2019)
Release Date - 1 March 2019
Limited series-8 episodes (All Available)
Director-Sam Donovan and Olly Blackburn
Writer- Harry and Jack Williams (The Missing)
Stars -Kate Beckinsale (Love & Friendship)
Charles Dance (Game of Thrones)

Georgia Wells (Kate Beckinsale) whose husband, Will(Matthew Le Nevez)
goes missing when his plane crashes in the Democratic Republic of
the Congo. All the bodies were recovered except for his.

Three years after living the life of a widow in the Welsh countryside,
Her life changes one day when she spots her “late” husband in the
background of a TV news report.

Georgia is convinced he is alive, though not many believe her.
She just a broken woman holding out hope that her husband’s alive.
And feel she’s doing the right thing in searching for him.

She embarks on a dangerous mission to Africa, to find out the
truth about her husband's mysterious disappearance.
She starts to discover a conspiracy involving the plane crash.

It is a slow pace,(only picked up after 3rd) and many
unnecessary subplots.
The use of so many flashbacks back and forth, months and
years (is just a shortcut to character development)

But...Beckinsale did bring a stylish role of Georgia.

Was not keeping track the new season came back. The highly political incorrect skank is back at it. The dark humor and unpredictability where it will go never cease to amaze me.

Love, Death + Robots is super awesome. It's like watching the best Heavy Metal stories came alive. Each episode has its own distinct look and feel. Do not watch it in presence of children cause they can get super graphic.

What we do in the Shadows - Exactly what you expected.

I'll be watching this on a weekly basis rather than binging it later. The thing with silly comedy is the gag can goes stale quickly if they do not have fresh scenarios to cycle around with. Would rather take it slow to avoid the repetition redundancy in this type of comedy show.

Hanna - The unnecessary TV adaptation.

They are stretching the plot line like many half past six tv series. Drama for the sake of convenient plot progression. The worst of all is the annoying teenager stereotype that does nothing but to distract. The expanded materials did not enhance the precedent of the original film. Saiorse Ronan still the better Hanna. Also missing badly is the pulsating score by The Chemical Brothers.

Warrior(2019)
Creator- Jonathan Tropper (Banshee)
Producer-Justin Lin (The Fast and Furious franchise)
Executive Producer (Bruce Lee’s daughter) Shannon Lee
Debuts -April 5th.(10 episodes-weekly)
Stars-Andrew Koji, Dianne Doan.

Adapted from the writings of Bruce Lee, the
the martial-arts superstar who died of a cerebral
edema at the age of 33.

In 1971, Bruce Lee tried to make "Warrior" in
which he would star in. But studios passed.
Instead the very next year, the tv series "Kung Fu"
premiered with David Carradine as a Chinese man.
Lee's widow disputed that the studio stole the idea
and never gave him any credit for it.

This time producer Justin Lin teamed up with Lee’s daughter,
Shannon and brought the eight pages original notes from
Bruce to this series.

Set in San Francisco’s Chinatown in 1878, about a
Chinese immigrant, Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) who comes to
America to find his estranged sister Xiaojing, Mai Ling (Dianne Doan)

It will chronicle Sahm’s rise to become a hatchet
man for one of the leading Chinese crime families
as he and Mai Ling continue to walk down that
troublesome path in the city. The brother-sister
dynamic help gives the story some weight.

Koji doesn’t attempt to do an impersonation of Bruce Lee
but making the character distinctly his own.
