That is Samsung official site. It is not a 3rd party site/or some guy blog . If the official site cannot be trusted, which can we rely on ?

Slight reversal of earlier court decison of Tab 10.1 sales in Europe:

http://www.bgr.com/2011/08/16/german-court...alaxy-tab-10-1/

Excerpt:
The Düsseldorf regional court in Germany announced on Tuesday that it is partially lifting its original injunction that banned Samsung from selling its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in all of the European Union except for the Netherlands. Samsung is now allowed to sell the tablet in the whole of the European Union except for Germany. According to The Wall Street Journal, a court spokesperson said that it was unclear if it was even possible for the German court to stop Samsung from selling its tablet outside of Germany. Despite the ruling, which allows Samsung Electronics to sell the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in most of Europe, Samsung’s German arm still cannot sell the tablet in Germany or anywhere in the European Union. Samsung is presumably still scheduled to appeal the ban on August 25th

Noticed that this thread is now pin up as sticky

Same scenario as previous SGS II thread when official launch due in 2-3 days time

So means our Mods already received notice imminent official launch date

Buying it thro telco with plan is only worth if your monthly data usage matches what they offer. If you are a light user, it is not worth at all. Also telcos always coming out with cheaper offers. Tied down a 2 year plan is just horrifying as probably next year you will find half price for present data coverage. A one year tied up can still be considered

Hi benny,
Since you are also using the melkco case, do you think the bottom clip will spolio the tab each time you unclip it to stand the tab?
*
I don't think so as I have always being using this type since my days of ipad, gtab 7". . Must be very rough handling to break it. I take it in and out dunno how many times a day as when I use it at home, I hold it naked without the casing. You just need to slightly bend out any one clasp and the whole unit will come out

anyone knows how to remove / uninstall / delete those apps that come with the tablet?

most of them are useless and are cluttering

dun tell me to root...
*
Must root to remove default apps
Rooting n unrooting is very easy
If u worried about warranty I can say is all bs as proven so many users claim warranty with root n flash Rom at sgs2 thread, galaxy tab threads.I personally 4 x claim free warranty services with root n cook Rom. Just don't buff tell the truth

Did you set your APN ??
Go to settings/wireless network/mobile networks, at menu select new APN. For celcom APN is just simply celcom3G

There is no Facebook for Android tablet yet bro.

Just use browser to open facebook tongue.gif

Try Friend ME or Friendcaster - these 2 are meant for tablets. Personally, I use FriendMe, way much better than default Facebook ( which is still meant for smartphones)

Friend Me for Facebook : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.l...molabs.facebook

Friendcaster : https://market.android.com/details?id=uk.co...otifyFree&hl=en

i think its all rite for not having calls capability on this tab. depending on usage, the percentage of ppl making calls using tablet is very niche, plus its quite hard to use it for calls, on the user end, the user might loose the headset and resort to using loud speaker, hence no privacy... this is most of the customer behaviour on previous tab, so i think it all rite...
*
Never understand mentality of those who clamour for calls on a 10" size tablet. Heck, I don't even use my 7" tab to make calls - just find it too big/troublesome. If I just bring my 7" tab out, at worst I bring along a small Nokia phone. Any calls to my 7" tab all divert to my small mini nokia phone - so convenient. Also using the 10" tab as another GPS - also can never understand unless just wanna show off, Anytime I will use either my SGS II or Dell Streak in car as GPS device, definitely not the 10" or even 7" tab - just looks crazy to me

There is always a saying : use the right tool for the right job
An ALL-in -ONE solution idea is good but not always practical

AND I DON'T BELIEVE A USER WHO BOUGHT THE 3G TAB AND CAN MAKE CALLS WILL DUMP HIS HANDPHONE

Would like to hear some of the user's experience on gTab 10.1. Is the new honeycomb is good enough? Is the lag issues is still there? The app availability for 10.1 inch screen?

And how about the handling feel as a user. They said the external finishing is poor due to plastic covering and stuff even though it is lighter than iPad 2.

Considering to trade my current gTab 7" for 10.1 but my heart say it still can wait. smile.gif
*
My opinion on these since I have used all these the 7" Tab ( still using ) and ipad - 9+ months / ipad2 - 2 weeks only

User interface - nothing so far can beat the ipad. I must say is darn slick and smooth. The new Tab 10.1 can now challenge t, shall I say neck to neck. Other 10" Android tablets ( I have use Iconia, tested xoom and transformer ) looses out. However I always say the ipad's slick UI is only a delusion - it decieves especially new users giving it a false impression it is great and fast. In truth even the new ipad2 fails badly against even my SGS II smartphone on browsing, youtubes, email content downloads. The new Tab 10.1 beats and thumps badly the ipad 2 on these features
Lag in 10.1 - what lag ??? Yes the 7" Tab has more obvious lag vs the 10.1. The 10.1 is a Porsche while the 7" tab is just a honda accord

I will only recommend the ipad to those who like to play games, like to play with apps, watch movies ( NOT Youtube videos). If you are looking at a tablet with some work related/business/file management etc - the Android tablet, any one is the better choice

The Tab 10.1 does not look as classy as ipad2 but it looks more business class n professional. Its build quality is good and solid. Comparatively, the ipad2 looks more flimsy. Looks are subjective - you gotta see and feel yourselves ; some like it rough and tough, some like them slim and sexy

3G Watchdog doesn't seem to measure my 3g data usage correctly.
After downloading videos and checking youtube and twitter since last nite and it shows that I've only used 16.6 KB.
But the same program had no problem with my galaxy s2.
Anybody found a data counter which works with our galaxy tab 10.1?
*
Use DATA COUNTER WIDGET ; this app also measures the amount of data used when used as a wireless hotspot

flash this files thru odin ker bro "cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5"

how to exit from odin if we want to abort flashing.
*
If you want to flash this recovery ( which is a very very good clockworkmod recovery) - you must let the process finish. I must say there is none better than it
Why would you want to abort it during flashing. If the Tab is displaying downloading mode and you see the progress bar in progress, DON'T ever stop it. If you do, your Tab will hang and will not reboot. Than you need to reflash your rom. If you have a nandroid backup done earlier than you can use your last CWM to restore it. If you are unlucky and midway critical system files deleted, sometimes you cannot even go into recovery mode with the buttons
I have been always experimenting on "HOW TO BRICK" my phones just as a hobby. So I use to do stuffs beyond what the developers warn just to see it for myself. I have no worries about bricking phones and I lost count how many times i have soft brick, hard brick my phones /tablets. But in most of the time 99 % I can recover it. The failed 1 % I sent in to service center to revive it and despite what other people use to say about " warranty", I never have to pay a single cent to reflash my phone/tablets whether is from Samsung, HTC or Apple
