Bad analogy lah that one. I would say neither because both are overpriced for what they are.
*
Haha, main point was to compare different line up of different generation. So in your opinion, which Nikon DSLR body is correctly priced for what they are?

Can you guys notice the "kind" of emitting highlight on the lady? How to create such highlight in PS?

The background should be another layer of the same image with different exposure, then masked and brushed out the subject.

QUOTE(lwliam @ Sep 19 2011, 10:38 AM)
It looks like a lousy PP job to me. But easily done with a curves layer and a soft edged brush to mask out the unwanted parts.
*
5 mins job on the masking maybe, or this was the intended output of the person behind the camera.

It isnt... But grey import will be about 5250 in RM.
Is grey import popular in malaysia? Or ppl just buy locally?
*
AFAIK, Nikon lens has international warranty. But question now is does Nikon Malaysia honor that? If yes then definitely will be buying from overseas. Last time I checked Australia's price isn't that good sad.gif, where did you check? More specifically which shop?

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Sep 19 2011, 12:07 PM)
Sorry, I was referring to the Honda models being bad example and overpriced for what they are.
*
I see.

Haha, hence like I said, bad PP job. Even more so if it was intended to be like that. Well unless it's meant to be made as a bad example. Then it's job well done.
*
Everyone has different taste... this is something subjective. Maybe one of your PP where you think its good, another person might think its a bad PP job you see ;-).

But I didn't exactly like that photo anyways LOL. But gotta respect the guy behind it ma tongue.gif

Well, if you can't see it on Flickr. It means your photo has no meta data already.

You can go under a heavy rain/snow and your gears won't get wet. Of course no guarantees should you fall into a river/sea.

If not mistaken there are waterproof bags from Lowepro, with special zippers to prevent water from going in hmm.gif

sigma has a wider angle = 77mm
nikon = 52mm

doesn't that give the sigma a wider angle ?
*
blink.gif

That just gives the Sigma bigger filter thread.

no never tried sigma before. I'm just thinking logically.

if you guys know I'm wrong just say it.
*
Okay, you're wrong.

Both are 50mm focal length, they have the same field of view.

Both my 85mm and 70200 have 77mm thread, but it isn't as wide as my 1635 which has also 77mm thread ;-).

Well indirectly speaking, usually ultra wide angle lens have bigger filter thread, and with some lens such as 14-24 does not have filter thread at all.

Ahh... then I think the definition of 'best' lens is vague here. It should be better suit your needs or easier to use.
In general, the better should be talking about overall (e.g. built quality, image quality, performance, etc).
*
In that case, the 70200 would be the obvious winner tongue.gif

Only reason I consider the Nikon mirrorless, it is able to use my current Nikkor lens with adapter ._.

200mm x 2.7, yummy! 540mm.. imagine J1/V1 with 70200 VR2 lols.

Agreed. An expensive Coolpix.
Indeed. 300mm f/4 mounted would give 810mm f/4 equivalent !  shocking.gif Great for birding.

Now I have chance to shoot moon and birds closer up if I get one of those xD

QUOTE(ifer @ Sep 21 2011, 04:14 PM)
yup
the bigger the sensor/film, the shallower the DOF is.

on the other hand: usd 900 for the V1 + 10-30VR kit lens is expensive leh

Let's wait for the street price =)
