I am now currently in 2.3.7 CM7, and i am sick with the video camera problem. and sometimes i can't enter wifi it made me sick too.
many of them suggest me to use MIUI, they told me the battery life using MIUI actually doesn't really eats the battery life la~
i need opinion brother & sister!

Using WAJKIUI 2.1.6 and results are gooding laugh.gif Battery life not too bad, can finally shut the camera up, smooth scrolling fix is definitely noticeable and other minor touch ups laugh.gif

anyway, update on my phone since few weeks back. Sent my phone back to service center, told them to wipe the inside of the glass and clean it thoroughly and check the seal on the earpiece. Sure enough, the earpiece seal was faulty and they cleaned everything up(well, most of it, still can see some slight smear on the underside of the screen) and now my phone is once again confirmed water resistant thumbup.gif

Think it through before deciding to send your phone to brightstar for warranty. Someone in this forum (nightstalker?) did send for warranty but the result was bad.

first i got very bad experience from dealer (imcc at sunway pyramid)

then i was disappointed with this phone because it's damn slow, and even was notified by tasker i'm running out of memory. i was coming from HD2, i expect it will perform at least on the same par with HD2 since both goth 1G cpu, maybe the ROM on HD2 (NexusHD2-Gingerbread) was highly optimize compare to this stock ROM. motorola should at least trim down their ROM to make sure it's not this slow. didn't they test it first?

now you told me i'm going to stuck with this phone with stuck pixel because brightstar will somehow screw up my phone even more? how bad would it be if i send it to brighstar?

Actually Brightstar is not the one doing the service. Phones being serviced under Brightstar are sent to PhoneWorx which is a 3rd party company to service. How bad? Dust under screen, smudges under screen etc but these all depends on luck coz apparently they have many technicians and depends on which technician yours is being handled by, your luck may be different. The first time i sent mine in under warranty to replace the faulty earpiece was fine, even completed overnight. The 2nd time i sent for service which i pay for due to cracked screen, was crap. You can check a few pages back on my complaints. Don't want to repeat myself again. But in the end they managed to fix my problem at least.

Btw, the Defy is slow due to the stock ROM, flash it to something else and the magic happens! And you said you got bad experience with the dealer, mind sharing? I bought my Defy from him plus after that i bought a Huawei X5 which i returned and exchanged for a brand new set 3 days later coz i suspected it was faulty(which i later found out isn't)

And i see you plan to send yours to warranty. Well, since its a hardware issue, you can go there and specially request to meet the technician and request him to just fix the screen without touching the software bit. Thats what i did when i sent mine for warranty due to the earlier batch having faulty earpieces. I went there, request the counter girl to let me talk to the tech then tell him the situation. He said no problem and can close one eye and just do the warranty. At least thats what happened to me. The phone was completely reflashed before i sent it in and i didn't even bother backing up lol. But still its better if you do since shit happens, like the 2nd time i sent for warranty, once they fix the screen, they discovered they somehow couldn't boot the phone due to unknown reasons and just proceeded in flashing a brand new rom for me doh.gif

Thank God Google backs up my contacts automagically else someone will be screwed hard.

now i feel glad that i sent my phone back to the uk for the repair, even though i lost 200 in the process.

btw, i'm still on stock froyo rom with go launcher ex installed. no lag, no slowdown whatsoever. i did however changed some vsel settings to get better battery life and use lbe privacy guard to control app access and also freezed a lot of bloatware that i never used. i'm too comfortable with what i have now, no time to try custom roms yet.
