RUU need to be manually update right? y no OTA update?

not really sure why not OTA update...htc also remove the link from htcdev.

according to XDA,before run the RUU make sure you relock your bootloader. im still thinking wanna flash it to official rom from current custom rom...

Running the RUU will erase all your data, settings and apps on the phone right? maybe too troublesome la if this is true...

yes it will erase all data,setting and apps in internal storage.

i just flashed it in yesterday night,so far the issue for me is open URL link in whatapps will crash.

Euro update. For our region no idea. Waiting for custom ROM based on it.

So there's the RUU on htc's dev page now again. Does this mean there won't be an OTA update for us? If so, then it's really terrible...

no SEA update, no stock english and chinese support. sad

Is it definite there wouldnt be the SEA update? Time to root my phone then i guess.

if i'm not mistaken, HDS comes with gingerbread out from the box. so, the change of the lock screen is due to the update of sense 2.0 to sense 3.0

the current HTCdev released RUU is same file name as previous leaked..

yes, which means it's actually EU version right? but the site says it's WWE... So, is it true that after upgrading this RUU, our Desire S won't support chinese character anymore?

i've flash the previous EU RUU leaked,that's already included multi language,with chinese character also.

Guys, if you have a S-Off Desire S, Go to XDA forum to flash the official ICS ROM... They have made it flashable through recovery mode... There are lots of new tutorials that'll teach u how to do it.

For me, I will keep my phone s-off and flash custom ROMs.... It's much more flexible as u can keep changing different ROMS and different android versions....

Guys, is there any way to back up my messages and some applications before updating the RUU without rooting? My phone can't update because HBOOT is too high and too troublesome to downgrade it.

search under device "desire s", version "4.0"..got RUU for WWE region..however the filename said its EU region..
