I had unlocked the bootloader through htcdev.. Now i'm stucked in getting it s-off / rooting it.. does anyone has a full step by step guide to doing it? or a youtube video perhaps? my htc desire s is version 2.3.5 with HBOOT 2.00.0002 and sense 3.0.. any guide??

I'm not sure if this will be of any help or not, but if I'm not wrong, when you unlock the bootloader via htcdev, you can't get S-OFF. I unlocked my bootloader via htcdev as well, and mine is S-ON. If you need to get S-OFF, you might have to downgrade your HBOOT (again, I might be wrong on this one).

As for a guide, I used this when I unlocked my bootloader and rooted my phone.

Also, feel free to look at this thread to learn more. I find this very useful when I unlocked and rooted my phone.

Hi bro, thanks a lot for your reply I had found it a few days ago too.. And gladly rooted my phone too.. But I realised that some apps might need to get the phone S-OFF to work.. But I can ignore them.. I'm very pleased with my rooted Desire S now.. Just one question remains in my mind,does that means now I can use any ROM I desire or just custom ROOTED rom due to the fact that I had not S-OFF it.. Actually I've tried S-OFF my phone but it always fails at the mid part which I think is due to the unlocked bootloader by htcdev.. Also,just to share with you,I had tried relocking it back but still not able to downgrade the HBOOT.. Nevertheless,given up on the HBOOT part happy with my phone now.. Thanks a lot bro :

No problem, helping out a fellow DS user hahahaha. As for your question on whether you can use any ROM that you desire, I think the answer is Yes.

For myself, I've only installed 2 ROMs so far, Endymion and Reaper. They worked ok for me, as in, I manage to install them and they're also up and running. You just need to follow the steps mentioned in the first link I gave you previously. With this, I think it's most definitely a Yes to use any ROM that you desire. But that's just my theory la hahahaha.

I am waiting to try the Fallout ROM soon. I still haven't flashed the ROM yet but I'll let you know when I do flash it.

Hi, do any of you'll experience the same lag issues as me while using Skype/Viber? Or is it just my lousy internet connection...

So I finally flashed Lowveld's Fallout ROM, and totally liking what I see so far. The ROM is very smooth, responds fast, and is just a pleasure to use.

better to use home line wifi (streamyx or unifi) and test it out 1st. mine delay 1 sec of using maxis hspda

ICS is not stable on our phone yet... most probably wifi hotspot not working... fortunately, u can always flash another ROM since its already S-Off... so no worries about that rom the phone's using... phone condition that matters...

Just wondering if anyone of you received the OTA ICS update from HTC yet?

nope...cos on fallout v4.4.0 ics rom, very stable for daily driver minus the wifi hotspot..and me dont mind about it cos me area got no hotspot
